This historical summer home was built in the late 1800’s in a beautiful blend of architectural styles including Queen Anne, Victorian and Tudor revival all combined into this large old house. Which is a bit hard too tell from the condition of the exterior nowadays. It once had a large wraparound porch that spanned the whole front of the house. The original family the house was built for was a successful physician who ran a doctors office in town and had the house built as a summer home to escape the heat in the city. The fire place mantles are all hand carved and the tiles imported from Europe by ship back in the day. This historical home is unfortunately set as beyond saving and is considered a tear down now unfortunately but glad I could document the place before it is gone. Such an incredible old house that deserves to be saved. Thanks for watching

I was surprised the staircase bannister was still in relatively good condition. Just heartbreaking that this old treasure of a house, oozing with charm from another time, will be mowed down like it's worthless ! The fireplaces alone were all so unique, stunningly crafted, a testimony to artisans goneby. I am so saddened, yet again, to see another once beautiful old house neglected -- and ultimately destroyed. Seems respect for the past, for historical reminders, for human life, too, is fading.

I am 4 minutes into this video and I am so very sad. Some of the features in this house are just so beautiful. That fireplace with the metal inlay and the doorknob in the butlers pantry, it hurts my heart so badly to think those things are going into a rubbish dump. How can we allow this to happen? I've been sick so maybe I'm more touchy than usual, but I just feel hopeless thinking about not only this house, but all the houses that all the beautiful stuff is tossed aside like yesterday's meatloaf.

Even in its current condition the beauty of this house stands out. I hope someone has the sense to rescue all of the beautiful tiles surrounding each of the fireplaces. This was an expensive house in its day. There is such an extreme difference between the grand staircase and the stairs for the servants who had to navigate those steep, narrow and winding stairs everyday while carrying items up and down the stairs.

A better roof would have saved this old gal. It seems the first couple of owners took care of it and then in the 80s it went to pot. Those are some of the most gorgeous fireplaces you've found and one of the most beautiful staircases with those alternating spindles. I added a lot of screenshots to my Kappy collection :) The animal sounds were downright spooky and I'm very glad you turned around when you did. It was so nice to see/hear Ruby! You all take care out there!

In my 72 years, I’ve never seen a banister like this one. It’s so beautiful. The fireplace tiles are magnificent. Just imagine how the artists who made these items and the people who installed them would feel to see them today, knowing they’ll likely be destroyed 😢. I was just thinking about the LACK of quality & craftsmanship in most homes built around/past the 1960’s , and what the future holds for future urban explorers. Piles of rubble I fear.. The homes built in haste just to make a quick buck, just will NOT stand the test of time like these older beauties do, if the roof is good of course lol. In 100 years (or likely less) our country will just have piles of rubble here & there, where houses once stood . In some cases, there will be a vast landscape of piles of rubble & waste, represenative of how haste & greed, truly make waste. THANK YOU for preserving the older homes on video, that are truly great & representative of how our country once had real PRIDE in how homes were built!! I also have to add, ONCE AGAIN, lol, just how MUCH we appreciate how respectful, and humble & genuine you definitely are in your explorations. Your motives are obviously not selfish & self-serving, but are really genuine in the appreciation of the older homes & craftsmenship of the past! Altho we’d love to meet you sometime, it’s so cool that you don’t have a big NEED to be “seen”, and that you respect your own privacy! Good for you! So many other RU-vid urban explorers just seem have this huge need to show themselves over & over again , and hear themselves over-talk! Sometimes it seems their videos are more about THEM, than the subject matter itself! While watching them, i’ve found myself thinking , “ Just SHUT UP & get on with showing the house already”! To each his own of course , everyone obviously has their own style & way of doing things, but I’m glad you keep it REAL & stick to the primary purpose of documenting/showing the older homes & their unique architectural details . And yes, again thank God you don’t have to add music & weird sounds to your videos, the natural sounds around the places, be it birds, wind, rain and/or cars, are just fine for the backdrop sounds! Tunes obviously sense on the shorts of course, but your genuine appreciation for older homes & their architectural details speak for themselves on your vids! You are our favorite RU-vid urban explorer!! We feel like we are walking thru the places with you, and since I’m too old to do much exploring, I’m glad to go along via video! Thanks ! 👍

It was probably very nice at one time , shame people don't keep them up after inheriting, these kinds of homes are unique, wasn't expecting so much on that top floor, great job ,didn't hear much from Ruby ,sure it's great to have company along, good job you do documenting these places

Whoever built this house certainly had an eye for detail. Ornate tastes, but it works in a house this size. Love the barley twist spindles in the stair rails. Both sides of the archway by the main door have elaborate designs in the woodwork. 😊 Beautiful! And the second-story bedrooms!! ❤ Large, spacious, tall windows, and beautifully detailed fireplaces. Love it! ❤️ This home was a show-stopper in its day. Tfs! Hi to Ruby. This explore had some great wallpaper for her. 😊

Unusual to find all the mantles intact. They should be salvaged, if nothing else. Same with the main staircase and any hardware. Beautiful and worth a fortune. People restoring old houses need these things desperately.

Love the green sofa with the skirt at 3:20. The woodwork in this house seems exceptional throughout and in great shape. Oh, that pink satin covered wing chair at 12:33, another great piece. My Aunt Alice gave me that very hand pinball machine new as a birthday gift in I believe 1962 or '63. I wish they could all be saved. If not, then at least the doors, banisters, fireplace mantels, metal hardware and door knobs, furniture, books, etc. Your houses are always filled with wonderful surprises!

It’s heartbreaking seeing such beauty and history go to waste. I can only imagine this home in it’s former glory, so so sad. 😞💔

It’s so sad these homes were such architectural masterpieces❤are we sure the growl was an animal? Spirit growl? As a child I lived in an old farmhouse with dormers in the top level were these short but deep side closets and my parents stored bags of clothes for according to the season . I think I was 5 and climbing around on top of the bags inside the deep closet .. the light did not work and I was all the way toward the back when I heard a growl.. well I got the hell in out of there… there was no way it was animals as there was no way to get in. Anyway from then own both upstairs rooms had those type of closet and I had a bad feeling about it and would block the door with something heavy. I still remember it clearly to this day and that was 50 years ago. I will never forget that growl.

It’s painful to think that all of that gorgeous woodwork, and those beautiful fireplaces, might be torn down. I truly hope that some salvagers see this and can save all of the irreplaceable and historic portions, inside and outside of this once grand and beautiful old home.

Another amazing relic of the past! The skill and artistry of the builders persist, shining through from under the years of neglect. And I mean WHAT fireplaces! WHAT Bannisters! The molding even has molding!! It pains me that no salvage is done before they demolish these treasures, but then, such is the current attitude of society today: everything is disposable. "Paved Paradise to put up a parking lot." Cuz those whom appreciate the finer things, especially remnants of our history, have not the resources and those whom have the resources no longer appreciate the 'finer things' of the past, preferring to spend their wealth redefining 'luxury.' I suppose 'tis a condition of Humanity, to create extinctions. What an amazing structure this one was in her day! TY for the tour, Kappy and Ruby. The good old days really were just that.

It's sad how a once beautiful home is left to ruin. You are very brave to go into that attic after hearing noises up there! I hope you and Ruby wear masks when you go into some of these homes. Thanks for sharing, Kappy.

Dear kappy and Ruby. Thank you for showing this stunning home. What happens to all the furniture and fittings if it's to be pulled down. I love the extra views you show, the cotton fields, flowers, stunning scenery, and the river. The train lines make me wonder where they go. Lovely to see the moon on the water. Thank you. Best wishes beverley stone U.K.
