Sooo long story here but worth sharing. I was at a low point in my life going into 2018. I was at my heaviest weight, my job wasn't going the best. I was wanting more but I didn't know what, I was just kinda directionless. Then a few films came out that really changed my perspective. The first was "Love, Simon" which really warmed my heart. Another film at the end of the year was "If Beale Street Could Talk" which was an epic story of love and one of the best romantic film scores I've ever heard (if you haven't watched it, watch it.) The final film (and something that did and continues to touch my heart) was "A Star Is Born." These films really changed my perspective on life to some extent and really showed to me, maybe for the first time in my life that maybe I did want to settle down and fall in love. Fast forward to May 2019 and my sister in law was thinking about losing weight and I decided I wanted too as well. I decided to weigh myself for the first time in about 5 years. I weighed 292 pounds. It was a wake up call. I decided to get to work and change my diet and start exercising and losing some weight. By FEB 2020, I had lost 100lbs, I was in the best shape of my life and had never looked better. Quick flashback to late 2019, my brother won a trip to Vegas and asked if I wanted to go and I said yes. I KNEW Gaga was in Vegas doing a residency and I KNEW she was going to be putting out a new album after A Star Is Born, so I decided to book tickets to see Lady Gaga in Vegas. I figured it was a nice smaller venue, I could get in line early, get in the pit, see her close up, I figured it was perfect. I booked the trip in late 2019....for mid April 2020. February 2020 comes around and she comes out with Stupid Love, a classic Gaga crazy dance song with a ton of energy, a good hook. Great song. I remember working out hard to the song when it came out and I remember being so excited because I figured Gaga was about to deliver another amazing dance record. I read her album would come out early April before I arrived in Vegas so I knew she would be performing some new tracks at the residency. Cut to mid March 2020 and covid EXPLODED. EVERYTHING was shutting down. I really had nothing to do. Gaga was cancelled obviously but I vowed I would see her the next soonest time I could. However since the world stopped and I remember thinking MAYBE that was the time to finally put myself out there, maybe I could find someone to share my life with and fall in love with. Almost instantaneous I found this really great guy who really swept me off my feet. Since it was Mar 2020 and cold in upstate NY and covid was raging all we had were car dates. We spent hours and hours in the car just talking and talking. I knew at the latest 2 dates in he was the love of my life. I remember thinking about Stupid Love, and the journey I had been on and how much the lyrics spoke to me, specifically these.... "You're the one that I've been waiting for. Gotta quit this crying. Nobody's gonna heal me if I don't open the door. Kinda hard to believe. Gotta have faith in me. I want your Stupid Love" It spoke so much to where I was in my life at that moment, and of course like so many other moments for me Gaga's music was there to be the soundtrack of my life, and now she could be the soundtrack of my love. After a year together we bought a house and a year after that at the start of pride month I proposed to him, and he said yes. Also on the morning of the proposal I listened to all the ASIB ballads to stay inspired all the while getting tears in my eyes at work at my desk. Fast forward to mid June and Lady Gaga adds Hershey Park as a date for her tour. I decided now was the time to finally go and see her (and take my fiance for his birthday). My now fiance and I (and also my bestfriend who has been a fan with me since Just Dance) finally book tickets to go. This all finally brings me to August 28th, where I recorded my fiance dancing in the stands, doing the choreo to Stupid Love. It was a full circle incredible life moment that I couldn't have imagined sharing with anyone else but my future husband to be. Also as always EVERYTHING happens for a reason, even the shit you hate. I'm so grateful to the person who uploaded this performance, and to the many others who uploaded their footage. You are making me remember so much from that night with this footage and I am so grateful. And obviously I want to thank Lady Gaga for putting on one of the best concerts I've ever seen in my life and being one of if not the best performer of our generation. She was absolutely transcendent.
This show was incredible I was lucky enough to also experience it live and I was shook at her stamina. She had just performed almost a two hour set and she still was working the choreo and serving vocals!
