Good video. Appreciate the ratings of the places along the way. I'm 68 and for the first time my diabetes kept me off my Road King all riding season. Now my doctor is taking care of that diabetes situation for me. So I look forward riding to 2019. I live to ride and it keeps me healthy and wanting to alway come back for more. Been riding most of my life, started as a youngster.
I enjoyed your video and calm down to earth narration. Following along on your Sturgis adventure helped me relive our trip this year. Been going every year since 93, we just love the riding and beautiful Black Hills. Agree the weather was very nice.
Larry J thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you liked it. I'm headed to the coast now unfortunately not on my motorcycle but hope to take some good video there. With my dog Hank and my wife
You must be bored today watching these old videos. LOL but I'm glad you did. Trying out a new device for my grill today video will appear in a few weeks
Well take care of yourself my friend you know this is the year of death. And I'm tired of it so get to feeling better you don't want me to drive out there and kick your butt
There's nothing like a good pillow when you're traveling, camping, and ready for a nights rest. I like your videos. Hoping to make my way to Sturgis this year.
you have great videos and lucky to have great friends to share the memories with some day when i get to go to surges i hope i am lucky enough to me you and your friends god speed and stay safe look forward to your next video
Thank you so much for the kind words I do have some awesome friends. We're hoping to go again this year. My good friend Spanky is quite ill and I just recuperated from knee surgery. But were still going to give it our best shot hopefully we will be good enough to go. We will be staying at hog heaven it would be an honor to meet you. We will be arriving there on August 3 and leaving the following Tuesday.( only staying four days this year) We plan on going to the drag races this year.
Travis Newman so are we.. we have some awesome rides planned for the Sturgis area. That we haven't done in many years I'm taking my wife next year. It is our 10th anniversary out there we got married in Deadwood 2008. If you're staying in hog heaven make sure you say hi. You will probably recognize the jacket if not the person. Thanks for viewing I have two more videos that are downloading. Then I'm off to the coast.
Thank you Paul oh, I have many videos on here from Sturgis to many to even count. Going back to 1990. I hope you enjoy each and every one. Hope you have subscribe to my channel also. I will be doing updates and maybe even Sturgis this year.
Thanks for your comments and camp site explanation and services with $ prices. I've noticed many videos play music and don't say one thing about their journey ? I appreciate your narration.
Richard Navarijo thank you for the flattering comment, I try to make my videos as I say interesting , informational and hopefully entertaining. Sometimes I fail it one of three of those. But I try. Subscribe to my channel hopefully I will be adding many more. Thanks again
I love the coment about not buying Harley junk and not advertising for them, I got 2 Harleys and made sure there is no Harley advertisement on them or wearing HD t shirts, I even told some of the big shots in Milwaukee I don't advertise for u, u pay me for buying ur product for 50 years
just pack your bike like your back packing, find some one to hang with that has been there be fore(that way you will avoid bad traffic and wasting time) you will find time fly's, so make a list of what you want to do. the two top things to do are DON'T break any laws not even parking laws,( they will tow your bike for about any thing) and the last thing face the rain with a smile and have the best time ever!
rollin' out of indiana 5am tomo,,, how much is HH ?,,,, me and homeboy rollin that way, never been , were old ,, can we follow you fellas around ? good video btw,, especially for a first timer
Are you going in 2020? I'm planning a trip, but I don't think anybody is gonna show up so I'm sure I'm going solo. Would be cool to find some chaps to ride with
We're hoping to go , as long as Governor doesn't shut it down like everything else is being shut down in America right now. You'd be welcome to join us. Of course I don't know who us is yet. Hopefully Spanky and maybe Willie. I think Oggy is going. We had some subscribers Hangout with us last year and that was pretty fun.
I hope they don't! I talked to the Buffalo chip the other week and they said they had no plans of shutting it down! Still a few months away. I'm in S.E. Idaho! Lookin forward to some miles
@@austinpeterson7417 at this time everyone is still planning on going to Sturgis and Sturgis planning on having its rally. Time will only tell if it really will happen. I think I will be leaving from Southern Idaho headed up your way we can definitely meet along the way if you want. We will stay in touch. I will be placing lots of Sturgis videos on here concerning getting ready for the ride. If you've subscribed you will be able to get some information from them
@@G_RAThbun I did subscribe. Wonderful videos! I really hope they don't cancel it. It'll be my first time and I'm about to drop 400 bucks on concert tickets. That would be a huge loss haha. Lookin forward to meeting you. Even if the rally doesn't happen, perhaps we can share the road another time
wife and i rode to little big horn before from sturgis ,wife rides a roadking and at the time i had a streetglide, after that ride the next day my wife just wanted to stay at the campground lol
Scene in a skinless chicken seen a lot of breasts. But they probably got anything you would want to eat. I know a lot of it is way too greasy for me. Thanks for your comment
Then I guess I better count you as one of my friends.. thanks for the kind words. I will be leaving again for Sturgis on 2 August, I'm going to try something a little different this year, naturally, I will film hours upon hours of video. For all of my friends. But for those of you that follow me daily, I'm going to try to put on a short uncut couple of minutes or so of where I am and what we've done that day. Kind of a teaser for what will come when I get home and able to cut and edit all of my videos together. Thanks again my friend
I was kind of surprised that it stayed on there also but it does, I also have a little strap that goes under my chin just in case. But I've put on many many miles and it's never even started to Fly Away
Love the video. I have some questions to ask, since you are a regular at Sturgis. I'm planning on going in 2019 Sturgis. What's the best way to plan the follow rides, like doing multiple on the same day if they tie in together... I believe the needle highway ties back to Iron mountain road. How many days would it take to do the following... rides I want to do: BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK, CUSTER STATE PARK, MOUNT RUSHMORE NATION MEMORIAL, NEEDLES HIGHWAY, IRON MOUNTAIN ROAD. As far as main street, what are some places that you would recommend to eat for a great hamburger and good atmosphere and other places to check out. I want to ride thru main so what times are the best. Thank you for all your help. Any recommendations or ideas. Right now I don't have anyone that is coming with me, but I'm hoping to get a few buddies to come along.
Dennis Roebuck well let's start off with the motorcycle ride you can do all of them in one day they're only about 250 miles round trip. Except for the Badlands that can take a little longer and it depends on what you want to see how long it will take you I would guess two days you could get everything done you wanted to see. Downtown you want to go see the Motorcycle Museum which is really not downtown just ask around they'll tell you where it's at. Food I'd eat it every place you can find that all good. There are some gourmet restaurants from what I've been told. I've never gone to one I kind of like the street food myself. Of course the end of the rally and the end of the money you start looking for McDonald's. Lol riding through Main Street is fun to do day and night all times of days. Of course the busier. You're going to be waiting longer. But as things are right now Sturgis is slowly dying down. It is not as bad as it used to be. I think 2019 will be a slower year. I think a lot of people are going to go in 2020. That's probably when I will go back after this year. You will need to find somebody to go with that's been there before. It's easy to get around town if you're with someone that knows how to do it. I usually figure out which way everybody's going and coming from and I go the way they come from. They're always be something to see if the end of the road. Especially if it's your first time out there but don't let the crowds overwhelm you. Sit on Main Street eating some good food watching the bikes and babes go by I usually do that for quite a few hours every trip out there. Have a great time and take everything and it's stride
Dennis Roebuck one more thing if you subscribe to my channel this year I'm going to try to put a little bit of something on every day at the end of the day. That will all depend on cell phone towers and if I can find one.
one more thing do not break any laws out there. They will fine you on the spot and you have to pay the ticket right then. So unless you have a lot of money in your pocket pay attention to speed limits and parking.
I do not know about anyone else, but I would rather see video of the ride instead of the camping sites and where you are at, at that moment, unless something good is going on. In other words what is the purpose for the film or video? To advertise for camping places that charge you money? I want to know where the free places are, not something I have to pay for.
Well I wish there was free places to tell you about, but there aren't any not that I know of that's how Sturgis makes its money it will put his hand in your pocket every chance it gets. I have many videos on here showing different paths to travel. The sightseeing is free and that's just about it. The reason why I put on the campsites places to eat and all her to show you the different prices on different things. I try to go as economically as possible. Some people will go out and spend $10,000 for a place to stay for the week I know that for a fact because I know people that have done that. If I ever do find something free I definitely would share it with everyone.
when I come in 2019, I will be staying for 5 nights. What would be the best the 1st 5 days or the last 5 days? Or does it make no difference? Thanks...
Dennis Roebuck it really depends on the day you get there and what your preference is if you like something to do with motorcycle as you will find it there that's what you should do. I like to go to the drag races the bike shows and ride to the mountains. Some people like concerts bars and other things. You will find plenty to do without anyone telling you. Follow your heart
The guy I was talking about just left a message on here Dan Knipstorm, first time I ever heard that name. You can kind of see it on my face in the video.
Hct80 it totally depends on what you're looking for in a campground. I like peace and quiet by the time I get back to the campground. This one is somewhat quiet and peaceful. There are others that have really good concerts. Some that have lots of naked women running around. It's all in the matter of once taste. You can find anything you want in Sturgis
