STURMTIGER MASSIVE 380MM ROCKET MORTAR IN SPROCKET (Sprocket Gameplay) 

Im REALLY hoping this game goes places man. It has so much potential, so many alley ways it could take and become something beyond just having fun with different scenarios.

Stop teasing me! I saw the title and immediately thought it was coming to War Thunder LOLOL

I spent at least 5 hours recreating the M4A2 Sherman the best I could using the real life measurements and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! I couldn't get the cannon to be realistic, it's too powerful at the real length, and couldn't make the turret rounded but otherwise it's fairly close.

HE isn't in the game otherwise this would be usable, currently with a gun like the Sturmtiger you only get 18mm of penetration

I made a VK 30.02 (D) that I think is fairly good considering the lack of reliably accurate information on it but with time you can get things in this game to turn out pretty awesome! Scale is really hard to get correct though for sure right now

Phly the crane WAS used in the loading process. It was used to lift the shell parts out of a specially aligned rack and into the breach, as it was far too heavy for the loader to lift without assistance. There are photos of it in use, the crane is actively being used and is down inside the tank in the images. It was not generally used to load shells into the tank from above as it was very easy to damage the breach. They were loaded through the reach hatch, that’s why the crane is located to the right almost above the rear hatch. when it rotates after picking up the shell, it actually winds up facing directly at the hatch, allowing it to be moved in easily to the rack.

Hey Phly, figuring out the vehicle files is great idea for videos. If you edit the crew loading ability you can get some fun things. Like a KV-2 with a 10rounds a second fire rate. Or how about 500 tone tank with a 250mm 200round per second auto gun. :D A recent patch did break the ability to have 1km long barrel but other things are great, like a tank that can go mach 3. Once you figure out how to edit the vehicle files the possibilities are endless.

The crane was how round were loaded into the storage rack -12 rounds could be stored internally on a rack -An internal roof mounted trolley would pick up each round from the rack and then maneuvered to a rolling rack in front of the breach because at 330kg it was impossible to manually load. -It took 10 min to reload the gun

phly if your cannon is front heavy you can use counterweighs to balance the gun and get elevation.

They carried an absolute maximum payload of 14 rounds of ammunition, 12 in stowage, one in the launch tube and one on the loading tray. Monstrously impractical.

As someone who build a functional HS 30 Mortar carrier I can attest to the fact that hugh rounds with low speed from short barrels will be treated like a thrown rock. 100mm APHE into the back of a AT-gun: No damage. Games caculated Pen-value: 3mm.

pretty sure that the STRUM TIGER fires a rocket assisted 380 mm shell, its not a rocket as such but a rocket assisted shell

Just to clarify, the inside of the vehicle had a roller rack bridging the ammo storage to the gun breach. All the crew had to do was roll the shell off of the storage rack and slide it into the gun.

Greetings Remember this was designed as a bunker/emplacement buster infantry support weapon for the eastern front NOT for fighting tanks. It was very forward thinking by the Germans, they saw a problem and engineered a tank for the specific problem. A heck of a lot more accurate and effective then pounding a spot with artillery or losing infantry to assaults on a strong point! 😮

Day 45: Phly, you should play the Hawk III Chinese fighter; 900lbs of bombs in a biplane at 1.0 that you can dogfight in after dropping. Totally balanced.

Little info phly, u can put counterweight on the barrel now, and also, to have the best gun elevation try to put the blue line as close to it's own center as possible, u can make crazy long barrel with huge caliber just playing with overweight and thickness As well, when in a campaign or scenario, there's a circle on bottom right, it starts filling as u progress until it's fully orange if I'm correct (so when u win)

at the end, your shell length was like 20 inches longer than your gun, you load the shell and it looks like your gun got circumcised

When you're messing with the gun it draws a blue line in place of where the barrel is, that line represents the distance between the center of mass of the gun and the rotational point. I.e. long line = no gun movement due to an imbalanced gun. Try and make the blue line as short as possible for fast gun elevation/traverse.

Heyo, Drift (my name on Discord) here! Glad you enjoyed my Sturmtiger so much! The 380mm is done with file editing, the game is only capable of showing up to 250mm in caliber. The gun is pretty useless atm since i had to make shells really short in order to be able to even elevate the gun in the version this one was built.

Phly imagine when the dev adds HE to the game, it will be added soon with the shell designer Edit: phly the Canon is actually 380mm, the in game Max is 250 but u can config in game file up to 3000 mm or even more, idk the limit
