@@quiksix25 Yeah, that's why he continues to whine about Leno any chance he gets and refuses to talk about or acknowledge John. Stern is the pettiest man alive. Why do you think he won't speak Artie's name or let anyone else talk about him?
@@freddyc9725 Yea Stern's petty, even the PC version, everyone that has ever listened to him knows that but the goalposts have been moved from my only point: John isn't a talented guy (not for nothing John is the KING of petty whining) and his lack of success away from those 2 shows proves that. Just listening to this segment proves that, I only tried listening to it for some inside stuff on Stern and John stopped me about halfway through, he's insufferable and his "sidekick" has nothing either.
I like this, narcissist vs narcissist. John always has to mention when he pays and he always has to explain hes not lying. Also Billy West is by far the most successful person to ever leave the show.
Artie had multiple TV shows, book deals & a podcast making nearly 700k a year plus whatever he could still make doing comedy post Howard. I would say he’s the real winner even though his decisions were not good.
It was the peak of his miserable life and he threw it away because he is an egotistical fool. He had no talent but Howard figured he could grind some funny out of him, he got incredibly lucky but obviously as a narcissist he thinks he's talented and deserved success. It kills him that Howard is still making millions, Howard will probably retire from radio at the end of his current contract and get a big money netflix interview show or spotify podcast and set up a website offering his entire archive (that he smartly retains ownership too) for a subscription fee per month.
Whatever I think of Howard these days, the fact remains that everything John has is because of Howard. Without Howard, John would either still be delivering tires or asking “Would u like fries with that shake?” The notion that Howard probably even thinks of John is about as delusional as John thinking he got to sit next to Jay Leno because of his natural talents and comedic timing. John should take his lead from Peter Gabriel. Peter once sang lead for Genesis and left in 1975. Peter set on his own course and never even played Genesis songs in his shows, but he was always complimentary of the “new” Genesis and maintained relationships with the band. He didn’t burn a bridge and NEVER talked trashed about the band that gave him the platform Genesis gave him. In fact, he and Tony Banks remains the best of friends, Peter will make appearances with Genesis for interviews and archival releases and Peter even showed up as a fan for the final Genesis show last month. Peter excludes class and appreciation for his past without living in it or obsessing over it. John should try the same behavior.
@@jedsteelwell2354 John was great in that environment but when you remove him from it he doesn't have much- I don't get how Howard did it- take a bunch of misfits and nobodies and create a great show- it's not even like Howard is a comedian himself
@@quiksix25 gotta give the guy credit he did alot of shit with whatever talent he had which was stuttering lol I know I'd feel like I was a bad mutha if I banked over a million by stuttering.
He left voluntarily and still won’t give it up. So sad- especially when he says “nobody listens to him” which is rich coming from the most unfunny guy ever.
In one way. His Washington trip did create content for WATP and Uncle Rico. That was also his value on Stern. He's a LOLCOW who can get people talking on the show. It does have value.
I gotta take up for him here, granted it’s not like the show was ruined after his departure but some of my favorite moments of that show was when SJ, Artie, and KC were there
He's bitter- he would have made out way better financially if he stayed on Stern- Leno's Tonight Show ended in 2014 and John has been on the fringes of showbiz ever since
@@quiksix25 pretty sure john earned more in one year at leno than he ever did at stern. there was no way he was going to stick around long enough to ever make that much money at stern, and even if he did stick around he probably wouldn't have made as much. he's obviously bitter but i think it goes deeper than that. seems like a personal issue.
@@mmeditatio That’s a lie, even though he made less money on the Howard Stern show he would still be famous, still make money from appearances, still have opportunities if he stayed with Howard, how much do you take Sal and Richard make ? Jackie make pennies on the Stern show but he was able to get plugs which made him millions of dollars. How is it going for the people who left the Stern show ? Artie, John, Scott, Shuli and many of them ?
Opens with: "We've been trying to get off of the 'Howard thing." Proceeds to talk about Howard for an hour and sixteen minutes. Just like the fame of bands like The Presidents of the United States of America, Right Said Fred, and 2 Live Crew, the glory days are behind them.
John - "We're trying to get away from talking about Howard" Also John - "I HUNG OUT WITH HOWARD" "I EXERCISED WITH HOWARD" "I DID GIGS WITH HOWARD" "HOWARD LOVED ME"
I find it degrading for Scott to work for such a rich company, then end up having to hold a cap to take care of his wife, he really should have an insurance policy for that, however instead of giving money to charity on behalf of Scott's wife, Howard should have given it to Scott
That actually would give him the desperate material he needs. This would have worked but Howard's show is so bad & boring these days - no one cares anymore.
Howard is good at creating characters. John if you were so unhappy, why didn’t you leave sooner? You contributed, but you were replaceable. Do you realize without him giving you exposure; you’re just a guy who stutters… You constantly used the show for everything you could get. I don’t like Howard anymore either; but without Howard you’d have still been driving trucks
That's ok he's right...Howard made a living trashing everybody celebrities, radio host, TV host, singers, actors, comedians, his cast members...with out his supporting cast, wackpackers Howard would've never made it as huge as he did. Obviously it's not only John, Howard has been treating everybody that worked the show like crap or act as they never existed
@@MDP673NJ1 how about instead of treating them like crap he fucking GAVE them a life with money and celebrity and enough fans to STILL more then 20 years after leaving to JAY have a stupid fucking podcast that at least thousands watch lolzzz cmon man cup half empty half filled type of thing lolz
@@ToolandTrigger Trust me . Most of the People who knew me are dead and gone . However ,you are correct about no one knowing me ,and I prefer it that way. My stories though ,are true.
The shows were at the NY Comedy club in Boca Raton FL .Artie was so cool and up for anything. I feel bad we bought him like 20 shots of jack while he was doing his show one night in Boca .He drank them all !!!!!!!
@@johnjablonski9292 Add Shuli to that list. I know a lot of people don't like him, but he is dishing on Howard so much lately. Check out his podcast. Some of its on RU-vid.
Not sure how this beef started, but let's be real: John was a major part of the show. John would ask crazy questions to celebrities. They were funny. The guy stuttered. He used that as a "talent". John put himself in harm's way. Morton Downy, Jr. could not deal with John and even assaulted him. John was ready to fight. I give John credit. He'd fight if he had to. But facts are facts. John did make a contribution to the Stern Show.
howard has done this to most of his ex-employees. he has become the guy who wants to be invited to all the hollywood parties therefore has become that guy who he used to swear he wouldn't become
@@Peopleofthesun386 I grew up in Brooklyn and worked in Manhattan. I saw John many times. I never went up to the guy and said I was a fan. But I was an indirect fan if that makes sense. But John was the butt of Howard's jokes He was never going to be huge. But John was a big contributor to the Stern show. Howard was so pissed at John when he left for Leno. A major part of the show was gone. With both Jackie and John gone the show sucked. But John had an opportunity to make some serious bread. Howard did give John his celeb status, no doubt. But John put himself in harm's way for the show and because he did the show was a riot. Today, Stern is a has been. It's like watching my old uncle bitch about life. John has issues with Howard. Now he has a mic to air it out. One of the choices we have, we can listen to John or we can find another RU-vid channel.
I love how he brags about being a 2 year intern. I've always thought Jason Kaplan was the worst character in show history followed by stuttering mushmouth, but damn he's really vying for the number one spot lately
“THERES A REASON IN 1990 I WAS IN A PHOTO WITH YOU AND ROBIN DURING THE CHANNEL 9 SHOW DURING ITS PEAK... THERES A REASON YOU SENT ME ON INTERVIEWS IN 2001 TO ASK SILLY QUESTIONS” lmfao. He actually thinks he was third in command behind Robin.
I thought Howard Stern was more than generous in giving Artie many chances on his recovery attempts. Ego aside, is it possible Jay Leno hired John more to get back at Howard than John’s talents?
Untalented! John had a tremendous opportunity to become a recording artist. Had one record made, What happened then…?? Never had that again! He was constantly given material to do interviews and bits!! He CAN NOT SUCCEED ON HIS OWN! He’s a narcissistic, envious, jealous, covetous Full of double sided talk. I love u man but … He’s full of Hate!
Hugh behemoth!!!! 😂 I only listen to the KROCK days. Those were the best days of the show. Since Art left & Yoko Ostrosky waltzes in, the show is completely unlistenable. And frankly I can’t listen to a man who doesn’t give a fck about his audience who got him where he is today. You’re welcome Howie for all of your riches.
I gotta say I been listening to stern for years and I see what he's become and I agree with the things they say about him but John come on its getting embarrassing now let it go.
Stern lost his balls when he decided "making money" would replace "Being the legendary Howard Stern." He decided to rest on his laurels and give up. The Sirius XM thing was the signal to the world that he was now *_solely_* in it for the paycheck. Not saying he can't make money, mind ya, everyone wants that, but when it became his *_only_* motivation.... smh. Keep rockin, John.
John, you are NEVER going to wean yourself from talking about Howard. You are consumed by Howard. You speak of Howard like most people speak of their fathers. Some people have Daddy issues, you have Howard issues. The podcast is your therapy, and your livelihood. You know people listen to this to hear you talk about him. Everyone knows how important you wereto the show. You were a legend. The days of you, Jackie and Billy were the golden years. Just let it all out my friend.
A lot of people like performers like Carlin, Pryor, Louie, and Chappelle, but if you ask me, Stuttering John is the greatest stand-up comedian who ever lived! The way he riffs on current events is genius, and the way he pretends to be drunk on stage is legendary! Man, this guy can act! I can't imagine how many movies and sitcoms get turned down because he's so committed to entertaining live audiences! He has so many admirable qualities, and his kids are lucky to have a role model like him! God bless you, Mr. Melendez!
John’s problem is that he takes people for their word, when it’s fitting. When it’s praises and promotions he deserves them. If he’s being made fun of, he pulls pieces that were said out of context. “When you’re in town say hi next time” isn’t an invite to anyone by anyone
I wonder if a show similar to Howard's studio with Jackie Jokeman, Artie, Stuttering John, Grillo,KC, Benji etc commenting on old guests like Beetlejuice,Gary and Wendy the Retards, Elegant Elliott, High Pitch, KKK guy, sitting in a similar stage to politically incorrectly Bill Maher discussing current events would get any viewers? I would watch it!
I love how the haters of the world always say he's a shadow of his former self and how he's nothing like the king he once was, as if time just started today and the past doesnt exist, and they can pretend that the way he is now erases the groundbreaking material he invented. He DID do all that fucking outrageous shit, and he WAS the unmatched king of this shit.
Meh, he's fine. I had a solid interaction with the guy and he happily talks about the good times on the show. This is just a rant. If you should feel sad for anyone, it should be toward Howard who can't keep positive relationships with anyone he's ever worked with because he's so shitty.
John comes off as an angry, bitter divorcée (I gave him the best years of my life) … I’m probably not the only one who believes therapy might be in order. Former Stern employees are linked to Howard the way former SNL people are linked to Lorne Michaels … whether they like it or not.
John was the most successful person from the show, after they left it? What about Billy West? As for contributions to the Stern show, I will agree the interviews John did were a highlight (and certainly were on the Channel 9 show). John literally risked his safety to get some of those interviews, too.
Its November 2023 & SJ is even WORSE Also..as much as i CAN'T STAND Howard Stern...him & Robin said that Stuttering John's contributions were NOT the MOST important part of the show..they NEVER said he NEVER CONTRIBUTED Also at this point SJ had been TRASHING Howard Stern for YEARS..but he responds ONCE..& he CRIES about it.. 😂😂
John I know what you are going through. When you give your life to a radio host who never appreciated you made very little money-the same thing happened to me with Mancow
Most of what John did on the show wasn't even written by him. He has an inflated ego since nobody wants him and even Leno relegated him to the backroom.
What I find hilarious is, without Howard no one would be talking about any of these ungrateful selfish idiots that continually bash him. He made them, ALL OF THEM!
I think the problem is, people think they were a larger part of the show than they were. You got paid to do a job. Does somebody owe you something? Most people know how to move on.
Growing up in Chicago, noone listened to Stern. The only 3 people I knew were Howard, Robin, and Stuttering John who asked celebrities questions. I've been listening to old Stern for about two years now.
