True - I think it's probably that she's not used to them, maybe she never trained with them anyway. It's not necessarily silly that she doesn't wear grips, but it might help her to wear them with the COP being the way it is now.
Hehehe true but she missed it 3 times in a row TF, AA, EF plus I think she missed it to at the Europeans EF and Nadia is his wife so the Comaneci Salto is not just another skill.
Thy're fine, people get so weird and bitter about the commentators. All of these commentators have great sympathy for the gymnasts but their job is to point out errors so we know why the judges scored as they did. Chill out.
She stuck the landing but she's not that great during the preformance. You should do all you can to grip on the bar. It's stupid not to get real handgrips.
Well, she was the only really successful Italian female gymnast. She wasn't able to get a regulation length vaulting area until she won the AA in 2006. It doesn't surprise me that she isn't used to grips.
It doesn't surprise me that a girl from, say, Albania wouldn't be able to afford grips, but it is silly that a gymnast from a first-world country doesn't have them. Maybe she's just not used to them?
That's the way the Chinese are on a lot of other artistic sports such as Figure Skating and Diving. They go straight for the difficulty, but have some almost "beginner-type" deductions.
did he actually say that Chinese Gymnasts were UNDERscored on the Uneven Bars? Wow I never thought I hear him say this. Most of the time there are only Americans who are underscored.
This is from 2007 at that time they were underscored not like nowdays...and Americans girls are overscored in most of there apparatus especially in floor, in nowdays of course. at least the Russian girl won
+ReGiS MrL this was more of a joke from me. Yes Ksenia won 2007 because she had the most difficult routine at this time. 2008 the difficulties of Yang Yilin, He Kexin and Nastia Liukin were all the same. so each of them got better scores than in 2007 and they were equally high scored.
i agree, it does take away from the routine to see them muscle up the kip. And it doesn't matter that it is a basic skill, that actually means they should be better at it since they've been doing it longer. I feel that they should get more deducted since it is such a basic skill. It's like beam and floor when girls will have increadable tumbeling but screw up the easy dance connections. It all counts!!
