I’m a bluenose through and through but I loathe bigotry, despise bigots and admire any man whose brilliance is equalled only by his humility. Billy McNeil was such a man. Today of course I wanted Kilmarnock but had to smile at the poetic memorial of big number 5 Simunovic scoring with 67 on the clock. Heartfelt condolences to his family. Scottish football as well as Celtic lost a genuine legend.

Rangers fan here. Billy McNeil will ALWAYS be a well loved and respected Legend/Gentleman by EVERYONE who knew him, or knew of him. A true Role Model before it was even considersd a thing. What an amazing Statue as well guys. It looks quality well done. Please remember, we are all Human Beings. Whether the blood in your veins is Blue, Green or any other football teams colour. Try your best to be even just HALF the Gentleman Billy McNeil was, and you will succeed in life. 😊💚💙🏆
A man who oozed class, such an honourable gentlemen. Wish some players would take note of how you conduct yourself both on and off the park. This man stands heads and shoulders above all we see in today's football pitches
I remember big Billy from the age of 5 was at the 75 cup final then my da told me he just announced his retirement as I came in the door I don't know how to thank this great man for everything he done for Celtic every time I watch this news clip the tears fall unashamedly as long as there's a Celtic his name will live on . I remember Billy lifting me up in the air like the big cup when I was 8 yrs old at a supporters function. What I wouldn't give to discover someone had a photo of it! We struggled yesterday against a great Killie team, but the atmosphere was special and all was as it was meant to be on the day. Sleep well Cesar. I'm 57 now, but will always be 8 when I think of you,the King!
