The boss man big show angle was still the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in wrestling.. he fuckin hooked big shows dads coffin to his car and drove off with it while talking shit to him over a huge speaker 😂😂😂
Losing Steve Austin and Undertaker made this a so so show. I enjoyed Chris Jericho vs Chyna. Triple H did a great job on 1 leg carrying Mr.McMahon for a half an hour. Stephanie became a great tv character after this night. I rated the show a 6/10.
It always amuses me that Vince wanted to "protect his family ". Wasn't it only a few months before this that he arranged for Stephanie to be kidnapped by The Undertaker?🤦♂️
The WWF was red hot at this time. Despite the fact they were missing two of the biggest names-Austin and Taker. But what a supporting cast who stepped up!
Criminologist and Author- Robert Giles Yup, they carried the ball. And don’t forget about the guys who would jump over from WCW not long after this. Eddie, Benoit, Malenko, Saturn, etc. They helped revive the midcard and tag title scene.
When Conrad brought up wedding angles I was praying Bruce would mention Kane/Edge/Lita. Kane giving a priest the tombstone is one of the most underrated holy shit moments ever in WWE
The McMahon/HHH match went hrough the arena and to the outside. Also McMahon took one hellacious bump to the back of his head from the entrance stage. Surprised none of that was talked about. You could have added Gun Turret to the list of everything used in the match lol Total missed opp.
I actually would like to hear an episode about the 93 royal rumble. I'm kind of fascinated by all the stuff going on behind the scenes at that point. A lot of roster turnover and the steroid thing was going on. I think it would be a good listen.
1:17:47 An opportunity? If I remember correctly, Jericho wrote in his book that working with Chyna was a nightmare. Either way, their feud was the shits.
The spinal fusion was incredibly risky. My best friend had it done, he's now half crippled, and Dr's kinda went well...that didn't work and left him hanging.
Of course Stone Cold sold more shirts than Hogan, back in Hogans heyday internet wasnt a thing. Had it been he would have easily outsold Steve. Its incredible to see just how much they sold back then as it is especially with the hoops they had to jump thru to do it.
@@deepblue8143 I agree with you 💯 than Austin wouldn’t be here without hogan. Hogan took wrestling National, but Austin took it international. In the years hogan was #1 in his respective company (WWF, WCW, TNA) it was about 13 years. Austin was #1 in ONE company for 4 years (97-99; 2001) and he shattered hogan’s records.
@@StrikeTeam0316 Well I don't disagree with you at all. But I think part of that has to be attributed to the success of the Internet. Back in the eighties and nineties there really was no such thing and you had to jump through hoops to order anything or even get pay per view, it was such a hassle. In terms of Austin's popularity though I don't disagree and it obviously cannot be denied. You can go out today and still see Austin 316 and NWO t shirts. I think I still have to put Hogan one notch above Austin simply because he totally reinvented himself in the late nineties and hes and helped usher in another boom period.
We need a compilation of all the Meltzer reports disputed on your podcasts put together to help others from having their money stolen by that crook Dave Meltzer
Stooge Prichard is a conman, fraud and liar. Dave has exposed and owned him multiple times. Dave is a pioneer and legend, and has been endorsed by the biggest name in pro wrestling. You're a clueless smark for thinking you know better than a 35 year veteran, lauded journalist.
@@ogarstyle He's been lauded by Frank Deford and the New York Times, and inducted into numerous pro wrestling hall of fames. You're an ignorant, arrogant clueless buffoon.
Matthew Singh-Dosanjh umm i never knew who this Dave Meltzer loser was before this show but after listening to every episode and listening to his takes be disputed over 1,000x by two separate producers of 2 separate companies in Bischoff / Prichard I genuinely feel bad for any loser such as yourself who was duped into paying to read this Meltzer moron spew 1,000’s of bullshit false takes at you that you actually paid for. I can see how why the truth coming out on here so often would hurt so bad. I honestly feel sorry for losers like you and Conrad. Don’t even know if you guys listen to what Prichard / Bischoff have to say each episode.
I remember at that time that there rumors of it being hogan running Austin over.this was right around the time hulk sued wcw and russo over defamation of character and vince and hogan where talking during that time.Late 2000.
It should have been jericho running over Austin to bring jericho to the main top tier level. Fucking rikishi that just led to HHH was so lame imo. Of course jericho would reach the top tier level anyways but the driver being jericho over rikishi would have been way better.
I love when Conrad gets mad at fans for being passionate and marks. While he host several podcasts and argues with Bruce and bischoff, like a mark himself
On JRs show they will be talking about the 2000 Royal Rumble on 01/23. On STW they will be talking the 1990 Royal Rumble on 01/17 and the Royal Rumble 1995 on 01/24.
@@butch5419 absolutely. The question with black balling is always why did the community exile the individual. There are certianly many situations where people have been black balled for a legitimate reason and I believe that as the case with Russo. His best buddy Jim Cornett is essentially in the same situation as Vince tbh, he's not going to get any full time job as an executive in the wrestling industry and id personally say both of them kind of did it to themselves.
@@travelreview5962 you’re right…I think a lotta ppl didn’t like that he was an “entertainment”guy and not so much a wrestling guy… seems in his recent stuff that he grew to love the business tho.. I understand lifers like Cornett n Bruce having that opinion but it just seems like there’s an effort to discredit him
I refuse to buy into the sign of the times bull crap when parents today are far more liberal & more like friend parents, thus their kids are exposed to far more vulgar things in the mainstream. Adult parents of 90s kids had doo-wop & Motown as their old school music, today's parents old school music is gangsta rap & explicit pop songs.
