I read he had superb taste in clothes. In the 50's he had his suits made by the Rome branch of Caraceni and his hand made shirts custom made by Rome based Battistoni. There are several photographs of him relaxing at Battistoni on the Internet. Conservative but the topmost quality in his clothes. Cary Grant and Gregory Peck also wore beautiful clothes not to forget Fred Astaire who was a lifelong client of Anderson & Sheppard. If you are pleasant to the tailors at the latter firm, they will make you a navy lambswool double breasted suit identical to the last suit they made for Fred Astaire. Mine is in my closet now. Lol.
