Pat Heath and I are around on Andertons social media pages all weekend. Let us know if you have any questions about playing, tones, the guitars we're using in these style-study videos, other ESP. E-II and LTD guitars etc
I'm sorry but what? KoRn does not use drop A tuning. They tune everything down a step to A, D, G, C, F, A, D for 99% of their songs since their self titled.
@@adenconnell Most notable flaw when playing Korn in Drop A would be the open string noises they often make in their riffs, the unison/dissonant bends (like in the bridge of Falling away from Me or in Shoots and Ladders), and some stuff that might not sound that crucial but it DEFINITELY is.

Wrong tuning and wrong way to play the cords lol, even Rob could play Korn better, don't want to be a troll but c'mon, I'm not even a fan and notice in the first 30 seg this is wrong, love ESP tough!
This honestly doesn't sound that similar to Korn. Something is off... Their overall tone in this video doesn't sound as tight as they sound. Sounds loose and slinky. Head and Munky have a tighter string response. It's Fieldy's bass that has the slinky strings. Overall just a fail for me. Sorry.
theres an old interview where fieldy shows you how to play some of their songs on bass. he said when they first hired Jonathan Davis to sing they forced him to not sing high by tuning all their guitars down a whole step.
I think there's an overall feeling these 2 dudes aren't very familiar with Korn.. tuning isn't right, there are many more nuances to the way Korn's guitars sound together, more use of effect, more chord voicing.. the video should probably be called "trying to play Korn for the first time."
I mean it's good but it's not perfect, you really need the 5 string bass and the tuning is meant to be 7 String A Standard, you made the same mistake as in the sound like video by going Drop A good video none the less
Doesn’t even sound like Korn tho. It’s like limp bizkit if Wes Borland was half asleep and Fred Durst shut up for once. Also there are many many bands that play in drop A and korn is not one of them. Korn plays 7 string A standard on nearly their entire discography. Also missing the signature Fieldy bass tone. You would think that as representatives for the brand that endorses one of the guitar players in the band they would have done a little more research.
i think it sounds like korn, i mean the playing style is right, but the tuning is wrong considering it's meant to be in A Standard and the bass is a prominent factor of their signature sound so it's there but not exactly there
@@DH-hl5tc my point was just that ESP isn't some monolith, and it's not surprising that a couple employees from the UK aren't familiar with an artist they've probably never interacted with. Neither of these guys seem like they're likely to be Korn fans, so it's just not surprising.
this doesnt sound like korn at all. the tuning is also wrong. lots of other people here on youtube do a fantastic job of replicating their style. memq for example. he is a beast.
This does not sound like Korn. They have no idea what they're talking about and clearly do not know Korn. Not a bad sound though just not even remotely close to Korn. Seems like they forgot to study the subject.
@@KeeperOfPoops Riffs they are playing are sort of Korn-ish so that on its own makes it sound like Korn. But if you listen closely to the sound of their guitars it is nothing like the band. They don't even use similar amps.
Jeez.....plenty of keyboard warriors and bedroom rock stars commenting on this one. Clearly none of the folks below know much about these guys. As for the actual breakdown of the track, it may or may not be the absolutely correct tuning but I think you are missing the point. Feels like this is aimed much more towards beginners and they way it is done and explained is bang on for me. Haters will always get caught up in the vacuous activity of hating. My gran always said, "if you have nothing positive to say, keep your pie hole closed"..........
