I LOVED the side-by-side of you now vs six years ago! I'd love to see a video where you specifically restyle some of the outfits from your old youtube videos
I love videos like this because it distinguishes whether people look good because they're stylish or trendy. I like seeing your twist on old pieces and it's cool to see how your style has changed since you wore them originally. I love the idea of opening the dress + adding lace to make use of something that doesn't fit anymore. Also I really liked the "ugly" skirt outfit except maybe the belt. However, I do find myself adopting the unwanted "frumpy" clothing from thrift stores so it's something I'd gravitate towards. I'd pair it with something lacey or a corset but I love outfits that verge on costumey
As somewho who often questions and doubts their style it’s inspiring to see how much yours has changed and evolved through time. And even someone like you (who i’d consider ultimate stylish haha) has trouble deciding on outfits 🥰 You styled everything beautifully, and i’m in awe as always.
you could start with a declutter in categories like you mentioned! starting with small tops and then throughout the next months tackling other types of clothing~ the best part of a declutter is getting to know your clothes again so dont stress yourself if you decide to do one ^^
Perfect timing for this video!! I've spent the past 4 years curating more colorful, saturated clothes (think kidcore/arthoe/80s colorblock/sk8 the infinity), but lately I've been looking at more grungy, 90s/00s punk rock/visual kei inspired clothes (think nana osaki/tripp nyc/etc.). I don't want to keep buying more clothes since I don't need more, but I feel like I can't think of any ways to style my colorful clothes in a way that I enjoy.
Have you thought about maybe trying more oshare kei styling as sorta an in between? Similar to visual kei but more colourful so you can repurpose some of your older stuff?
I love seeing videos like this that encourage us to style what we already have!! You could look into sewing the yellow & white playsuit into a dress (or getting it tailored to a dress/top & skirt set). Leena Norms here on RU-vid did something similar recently with the "clothes I never wear" where she sewed them to be things she actually would wear. I think it's such a good way to reduce fashion waste, which has such a big impact on the environment, and be more sustainable & long-term with our closets 😊 Edit: I finished watching and saw you did something similar with the gingham dress 😅 love that idea too!
The idea of cutting the dress open and wear it as a tunic/apron is so good. I've donated several dresses that didn't fit me anymore and I could have just flipped them.
first time on this channel and i absolutely love the pace of the video!!! it's so refreshing to see video's like this where we just get straight to the point and show the actual outfits while still providing good information about the choices
the outfit with the gingham dress/apron was my favorite!! the colors the silhouette everything was just perfect about it! i own a black trench coat and it's honestly one of my favorite pieces. it works so well with the more vampy vibes i often go for. beige trenchcoats on the other hand always make me think of columbo ^^'
thank you for voicing everything i say about playsuits, they really are so weird to wear and still make wearable!! btw, are you still doing your battle of the teen show outfits video?? so excited for that one!
i love these types of videos! :) i'm personally not someone who's following trends a lot, so my wardrobe still has clothes from 2015 as well and i just kept adding a few things over the years that i found pretty. so it's really interesting to see people styling clothes that aren't "in trend"!
when i saw the swirly pattern i thought it was impossible to style without evoking 2020 but of course i was wrong to doubt my queen 🥹🥹 the final look was so modern and amazing
14:21 wait why am I obsessed with that skirt. It’s kinda artsy but also chill at the same time. I’d probably do some tall white boots and a black turtleneck plus my hair in what my my says is a classy birds nest bun.
90's grunge look book please. The denim skirt would look great if you went for a 90's grunge look a baby tee and docs and a leather jacket. You could also go a whimsygoth look with the denim maxi skirt or just 90's witch in general. A cute 90's anime or cute pastel kpop vibe could work with that skirt as well. I definitely associate the denim maxi with a witchy boho style like phoebe from friends. Love to see an accessories collection video, shoe collection video, room tour or a classic favourites video.
I got recommended this on YT and I’m like “hmm, sounds interesting,” and then I get greeted by a TATA AND HINATA PLUSH and I’m like “OKAY” and then you zoom out and I see all the KPOP posters and anime figures and I’m like “HEYYYY” and then you start STYLING and I’m like, “OKAY, SLAAYY,” off to check out the rest of your channel now!! You’re super creative in how you style the different pieces, I never would have thought to do that with half the things you had!
I love rompers 😭 I'm 5' 10" but short waisted, so they show off the legs. I love to style them with brightly colored, sheer shirts (the thrift closeout stores are filled w them) and fishnets that match the sheer shirt, then a heeled sandal that matches the romper. They're so much fun!
i didnt realise how sick i was of all the fashion channels that are so minimalist and boring until this video ohymgod i love your fashion sense so much
Do you think you could maybe do a video where you try to make outfits for guys? Because I'm a guy and I like your style but I wonder how I could spice up my outfits the same way you do but then for men
this immediately gave me a million ideas for pieces i don't ever wear! been following you since 2018 so it was extra gratifying to see these old clips and your style evolution
first-time viewer here! i feel validated after watching this video and reading the comments. i always wonder if i even have a personal style because it changes every year (or so). i was also easily influenced by the people i hung out with. seeing how different you used to dress is so comforting because it feels like everyone discovers their style through trial and error. lol. i absolutely love how you dressed up those older pieces! subscribed for more :)
I'm new and thought the video was so cute! But I can't help but notice the 'Fruits Basket' manga behind you ❤ it's my FAVORITE show and most people don't really expect that from me. But it just made me smile so much. Lots of love.
In love with the long denim skirt outfit, I feel like you nailed it, styling in a way that fits your taste and reinventing an old trend, just amazing! 💖
Id wear the stripey dress with a black jacket, maybe oversized? Maybe some tights too. You could even add a cute belt on your waist to match whatever tights you wear, and add jewelry to match the metal part of the belt, probably silver or something. The jeans were alright, but I think adding the bulk on top kinda messed it up a bit. I think it wouldve worked with yeah maybe a belt on top or just a light long flowy jacket instead of a thicc bulky square one. The white shirt underneath could work, probably with tights tho, or some flared jeans, not oversized. Everything else was a slay
Have you tried dyeing your clothes? Dresses like 3:20 would be perfect because it's such a good fit, it's just the pattern. You could bleach it to white then throw a nice color onto it. It's affordable too.
Girlie is dressed like a fairy telling us she has no fit inspo. Smh. Lol. Wouldn't mind if you did a "costume using what I have" video followed by a declutter
honestly the first item, the playsuit, if you are a bit handy with sewing clothes you have so many options! you could simply turn into a nice lil top, just chop chop and hem to finish it of OR you could make into a skirt, my plan would be to cut the leg parts of , and than sew on more material that is of the same or very similair fabric, personally i would go with the yellow of the flowers, but maybe there is a fun pattern that goes along with it. if you do that you can just do it like that, gather it , or pleat it, SO many options!!!
Yes, I too feel so off in a trenchcoat...and mature that is the exact feeling, and I don't like it. The outfit you made with it was awesome tho..but I agree a different coat would look better.
now that it's coming to summer i brought four tops two sizes too large and my plan is to live in them outside of my work clothes, i put so much thought into winter fits because i can layer them and still feel comfy but summer? nah
Help! What is the waistline called on the amazing gingham dress at 11:38? The one on the left with the lavender cardigan. I want to know how I can search for other dresses like it.
What I do whenever I am struggling to put outfits together is that I find a style that is completely different from mine and try to create outfits in that style and kind of morph them into my style if that makes sense
With the playsuit, you could always talk to a tailor to see if they can adjust it to be a dress. It may be difficult, I don't know if it would be easy to hide the seam in the middle, but there seems to be enough fabric for it
