I loved the Professor Kura pop in. I wish urban revivo would send different items to each influencer. Their clothes are great but I would like to see more variety displayed by content creators presenting the brand.
Don't know if anyone mentioned, probably did, but get Art History textbooks to learn about art. I have a degree on Fashion Merchandising and I had to take an Art History course (it was a choice between that and something else but I was more interested in Art history). I learned so much and now have a better appreciation for all kinds of art even though I am always learning more and will continue to learn about art and different artists.
I didn't think about starting with a text book that makes sense! My first degree was in education ( I didn't get a fashion degree until later ) and I had to choose from art appreciation and music appreciation. I took music appreciation and now I wish that I could have done both. I will do some research on a few text books. Thank you for this suggestion! Have a wonderful week.☺️

great video. I think the design of the Margaux bag is a copy of designs we've seen before.. not original so maybe that's why Prada felt comfortable copying the copy! I love wearing white tee shirts and have a few in my wardrobe. Thanks for sharing.

I about loved the little pop-ups of you! So cool. You look amazing! I am a white T- shirt girl! That is my jam! I wear them all year round in lieu of blouses to minimize the formalness of some outfits. I ❤ throwing it on with skirts and boots and a leather jacket in the fall/winter and shoes and sandals and a blazer or cute jacket in spring/summer. When you change the buttons on the Urban Revivo denim dress, would love to see the end result. ❤❤ all the looks from Urban Revivo! The boots are great but they won’t fit these short athletic calfs. Omg, there is still a free standing B&N in NY???? I thought they all closed and I was so sad. I agree the Feragamo bag looks better than the Row - Margaux bag. Even though it might be more than “inspired by” the Margaux bag, I think the Prada bag looks better.🤷🏽♀️ Great video!

I've taken the button off and have not replaced them yet but I will share the end result!. I'm so happy that we still have this B&N. It's so cozy and just the perfect place to be on a cold day. It's not updated like other cold book stores! I hope they keep it this way forever! It's so funny that so many people preffer the Prada bag! I think that was quite diabolical of Prada to copy the Row in the height of their popularity and I am entertained! I actually like the Prada better. I’m also not mad at the Row about their recent show and pulling their merch from other stores. I wasn’t beating down their door anyway. I will browse and shop there as my preferences lean towards their products and as my budget allows.

I love the way your doing this video, you look fabulous, why buy new clothes why not have what you own, tailored to fit your "new" frame. I sew. I am 5 ft, curvey, ok heavy, I have to buy then alter everything to fit my shape, my height.
Thank you so much! Both my grandmother and my mother used to sew. They tried to teach me and I was a sillily teenager and didn’t pay attention.🤦🏾♀️ ( I actually have my grandmother’s sewing machine. I cherish it.❤️) I regret not paying attention to them. It would have come in handy right now and is a good skill to have! Instead I’m dropping everything at the tailor.😩
Exclusivity for a bag… let’s think about that for a moment. Does it really matter? Just buy a bag you can afford that fits your personal style and needs. I purchase leather bags that last just as long and look just as good and I look just as cute or put together. Get your head out of the headlock people
Your'e right! it doesn't truly matter in the grand scheme of things. However it does matter in the business of fashion and buidling a long lasting brand.While we as consumers buy what we like and what we deem worthy ,brands are busy trying to find thier place in the market. I agree there are plenty of GREAT quaitly bags that aren't thousands of dollars. However , if people will pay for it... brand will keep making them! I need to get a couple more white t-shirts for summer. I think it’s a good layering item. As far as Prada copying The Row it’s fine ( as you stated Dior copied LV , Celine copied Hermes ) Gucci has a bag similar to the speedy as well. So many brands do it all the time ; it just depends on which brand you can afford , and which brand you prefer to buy that item from. Price is a big factor and also availability 😊
A white T shirt is esstial for layering for me now. I need a few more myself. Oh yeah... I forgot about the the Gucci Ophidia! They really all inspired by one another. It's just interesting when it so blatant. lol!

The Harlem Renaissance is one of my absolute favorite time periods! It’s one of the reasons I fell in love with jazz! I had no idea about the exhibit at the Met. I am for sure going to see that. Thank you! I went to go see the Henry Taylor exhibit at the Whitney and part of the exhibit was a piece with the Black Panthers. IT WAS POWERFUL! Thats what started to peak my interest in art! That and the Van Gogh museum last time I was Paris. I have not heard of Sandford Biggers or Simone Leigh! Thank for introducing them to me! I’ve got homework!

Hi Kura ! You have a great channel! Regarding how i feel about the Row / Vs Prada bag… I am always surprised when an item becomes viral and how or Why. Both bags are really nice. However I just bought the LV calfskin tufting bag for a bit less the both those bags . In my opinion in every way it’s a more beautiful investment bag. It’s similar to the Kelly bag❤

White tshirt…tons! I wear a white shirt at least twice a week. And the Margaux bag….I do like it, and the Prada one is stunning too. The prices though! I bought a logoless dupe for about $70 and I’m happy with it. I don’t need the logo or name; just the lovely, classic style.
I have a collection of white shirts now. They are a big part of my wardrobe now. The price of those bags! Whew! I did see some dupes on etsy that the girls are wearing. I’m sure yours looks beautiful!🤗
Nice video, as usual. I like this format and appreciate the take on the white t. I'm not big on tees in general, but when I wear them, they're usually graphic tees. That said, I do have a fitted white tee, a muscle white tee, and a plain white tee - all of which I tend to wear only in the summer. Re: The Row, I'm not in the luxury clothes price range, but as for inspiration I find their clothes dull and uninspiring. Designers copy other designers and even street fashion constantly, so it personally makes me no difference what Prada does. Design and fashion aren't owned by one brand, so whatever works for their customer. 🙂
The reaction to The Row is always so intereting to me.People either are completly inspired by the minimal designs and find them extrelmy chic or the desgis all flat and are not inspiring and dull. I feel like it's it's all or nothing. Designers are notrious for copying street style! Thats a good point! I do agree that fashion isnt owned by one brand. However , the timing from Prada is entertaining IMO. 😂
Yes! I love the COS white t! Another good option is the Uniqlo one. It’s the worst when they don’t ship to the US.😩 Thats how I feel about Arket! They have cute things that I can’t get my hands on!😂
I have a collection of white tee shirts. I live in them, especially in the summer. The two Sephora stores I can’t deal with are Union Square and 34th Street.
Great tips as always. I had to use my DET for the white tee. Boody has a white scoop neck 3/4 sleeve tee that looks so much better on my frame than a traditional white tee. Congratulations on your successful health progress.

I found out that with Urban Revivo you have to go up a size or two. I bought the skater denim shirt in my normal size and it was too small. I’ll have to wear it as an open top over a t shirt.
1:45 Oops, I was not expecting that edit. 😂👍👌 She's right that everything else has an influence on fashion. The Andy Warhol era or how Jean Michel Basquiat art influenced street wear. We already know the Hip-hop side to the story. I got into art over the pandemic; and I just started by following different artists online if I liked their work. Then watched every live auction by Christie's and Sotheby's because they taught about the art and its creator before the show (the auctions became addictive 😊) . Go to student art showings at colleges. Those along with books, articles, and interviews has given me quite a lot of knowledge over the last 4 years.

@@simplykura You are welcome! I'm a epistemophile; so I tend to go hard when I get interested in something. Here the biggest school of the arts has their own gallery that showcases student art past/present and they hold events. I was advised to get in on the ground floor (students) if I wanted to afford pieces and learn about art, so that's what I did by searching student showcases in my area or art fairs for the none conventional students. I also picked up an art terminology book to understand what the heck people were saying (a good coffee table one). I follow my local art bloggers, artists, galleries (near & far), Artnews Magazine, Artnet, and the auction houses. Have fun!

Hi Kura, I love your content.I believe the perfect trifecta is music, fashion, and art. It's a perfect blend of culture that complements each other. As a collector and fellow NYer there's many places to educate yourself. Unfortunately you missed Harlem Fine Arts Show(HFAS) this past February but it has shows around the country. Currently Bklyn Museum have an excellent exhibit also art shows to explore style of art you like. Books are great but you can join art tours to museums and galleries for art education that will give you exposure to different genres, mediums, and artists. Good luck on your journey into the art world.
OMG in Ferragamo the other day I said - I'd totally buy the hug bag instead of the Row's Margeaux! There were different colors, bright or neutrals, and so much more interesting - yet understated! I'm Ferragamo and Maximillian Davis all day 🙂

I feel Prada was like… I got you boo!! Whilst making a nice chunk of change for those that like the style but not the brand price and policy for ROW. I mean Gucci, Dior, Marc J, and many others did use the speedy design yet I have probably one of each bcz I like the other styles as well.

Sometimes, when I look at the examples that you’re showing us, I really do in my mind, realize that they are only for pictures… For instance, that camel sweater with the white T-shirt under you probably never would’ve noticed that was there or seen much much less of it unless she posed like that… Do you think that just some of these are more editorial? I know we all have different styles and some of us are more street style oriented or edgy or glamorous, but I also recognize sometimes these fashion influencers have about four or five trends on at the same time, and that can look a bit much for me. It’s fun to just glean this and that from pictures and I guess that’s what we all do!
Brands have been copying one another for years. Nothing new here. The Margaux Bag is not all that IMO. Prada hands down is the older more respected brand and their bag will be the one that people will buy if they are looking for that style bag. The Row IMO again is well overpriced for their merch. Somoeone did an article on that some years ago.
Great video. I love fashion and everything about it. I find quality in mid price range, that is affordable to my style. Some of my items are high end brands, and some are not. I look for the quality and if the item is classic.

The leather of those Manolos make them look like something you could have purchased from Steve Madden or Sam Edelman😬 I shop those brands but I’m sure even the Rue La La price was way more than SM or SE and when I buy a pair of shoes from them for $100 or less I know what to expect.
