You didn't show the full range ribbon controller! Did either of you glance at the manual? :)

Hi all I am having a hard time tuning this little synth. While adjusting the pitch with the bottom potentiometer isn't a problem, I can never completely and accurately "span" the keybaord using the trim potentiometer on the back of the synth,. I go back and forth "pitch - span" several times and it gets pretty close, but some notes are still off. Am I doing something wrong, or am I missing a step in trying to tune it? I am aware this little synth is far from ideal and there are some tolerances involved but the manual doesn't suggest anything about possible imperfections that may affect tuning . Any input or help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you find any solutions for this? Same problem here, got stylophone gen x yesterday but im quite dissapointed. I've had the S-1 couple years ago and it was very comfortable to play (yeah i know it was digital). I understand GenX one is analog, and and i don't have problems with little pitch drift, but GenX is impossible to tune and play any melody, during 2 octaves there is C on the middle means C# in the lower octave :/

@@keyhoarder Same here. One octave at most and the rest is really out of tune. You can even hear it in this video. Most people don't seem to complain about this problem, but maybe they're not musicians. Shame.

@@MonsieurC64 i've sold mine because of this. I honestly informed the buyer that this instrument is not useful in playing melodies, only as effect. i'ts a shame that none of the reviewers are saying a word about this major flaw, which appeals very fast after turning on.

@@MonsieurC64 and yes its strange why they are just a few complains. I don't know, are these people use it only for playing random notes or what.

mine doesn’t work and does not make any sound unless i open the cut off button. Is it normal?

If you close the cut-off button it should filter out all the high frequencies initially, but if you close it all the way and you're playing high you might filter out all the noise. Different with different synths and filters though. I don't own one, but I've owned synthesizers that did that in some situations.

The S2 is back. It's on the Stylophone website, and stocked by Thomann: www.thomann.de/gb/duebreq_stylophone_s2.htm - kind of expensive, but it's a small firm, so I guess that's to be expected. dubreq.com/s2/
