Just rewatched the old styrofoam-video and it occured to me you used to have music in your video's. Any reason you stopped with the music? I kind of liked the old video-game music in these kind of video's because it's about playing around with stuff.
i have to put socks on my hands before i go to sleep because if i don't i will itch my hands in my sleep and it gets so bad. you're lucky if you don't have it.
+Haydn Gittemeier do you say the same thing about driving a gasoline engine? and unfortunatly just tried lighting it on fire, evidently doesnt burn as well as id hoped.
Sees video with acetone, gets reminded they were gonna repaint their nails yesterday but didn't, gets out nail polish remover and starts doing that while watching. Hey it's like DIY Smell-o-vision! lol
Might want to be careful this is very similar to napalm most people use styrofoam and petrol/gasoline to make diy napalm, it burns EXTREMELY hot and for a long time it is very very dangerous and difficult to put out.
Dispite acetone being formed in digestion and more commonly indigestion being natural, it is not harmless. The vapors allow poisons to combine with the acetone and enter the nervous system. Acetone will readily dissolve some of the skin tissues. Don't recommend touching.
Rinoa Super-Genius You are such a little jerk. Get a life and leave your mfing viewers alone. Jerk. You seriously just called someone's opinion useless. You must be on drugs, or be high, or something because any normal person would never say something like that to someone who just viewed their video and gave them a view. If your supporters weren't high as a kite like you, they would see this. Burn in hell.
Solvent casting polystyrene is a great idea! The properties of the result are gonna be really wonky with the acetone level so high, so you might want to try annealing it once its dry. That allows the plastic to recrystallize and removes the stresses from drying, and can massively increase the strength and heat resistance. You're also right on the money about welding plastics with solvents!
I bet you only want to kill the video because yo dont like the old you. But as you say its how people inducing me fond your channel via the 18650 batteries .Yeah your voice has changed a lot over your transition its a lot lower in pitch lol
+sam mulholland i dont think so, the average frequency of my voice has gone up a very slight amount. ive mostly worked on the quality of my voice though. but anway, what does this have to do with styrofoam? lol i guess you didnt watch the video very well, because its mostly that but also how people keep commenting on it.
Been there done that, it's quite a bit less impressive. You're left with something a bit more akin to a ball of silly putty congealing in the bottom of the container, though given a few days sitting in a garage in the heat of summer it will take on a bit more and thin out. Also, it's oddly selective as I remember from when I did it back when I was a teenager like 20 years ago. Like the stringy structured types they use to make food containers/plates/nicer packing peanuts from breaks down ridiculously slowly. But the pelleted stuff like this that's used for bulk solids, the messy nasty packing peanuts, and incidentally cups but in finer form was attacked fairly quickly, at least quick enough to make that fizzy noise but it still didn't have a patch on how fast acetone seems to be judging from this vid. Mind you in the US I suspect that might not work as well anymore seeing as how unless you want to buy 92 octane premium there are precious few places petrol can be found that isn't actually E5 to E10 blend in lower grades and I'm not sure how the ethanol would affect things. Azeotropic affinity might come into play there.
Most people looking for "DIY slime" on YT are young kids, I believe it's incredibly dangerous to openly share how to, basically, make napalm here. As an adult I find this content very interesting though, but I can't help but think of the thousands of kids that may have tried this and may have risked getting completely burnt.
Not from what Ive seen, this is mostly watched by people who are older. Anyway its good for kids to learn how to handle fire at a young age. I was always playing with fire as a kid and I learned a lot about metals and such also this isnt napalm by a long shot. It doesnt burn anything like it
It's fun watching the styrofoam turn into goo, although I can somehow see this becoming a fetish for some people. It's also pretty shocking how much the styrofoam can reduce down to once the air pockets are released.
This video opened my eyes to another really fast chemical reaction. Very interesting indeed. It will be fun to see how the Napalm project comes along. The balance and saturation points between Styrofoam to Acetone will be critical, especially if you intend to build a flame thrower! I have not seen the previous video you made, and the comments may or may not mention that you might well have a very lucrative solution in your grasp. The reduction of countless thousands of tons of waste packiaging material on an industrial scale. Remember from Acorns does the mighty Oak grow. Styrofoam in a landfil site, makes for a poor landfil sites! Using just acetone to float on top of the water and force feeding styrofoam you have seperation. The 'slime" comes out in the water and gets a further wash to reduce any risk of it bursting into flame. Heating the acetone (very slightly) helps to capture 'boil off' in s closed pumping circuit, then use a condensator to return it to liquid state for re-use. As for the 'slime', you would have to see what sorts of forms it would take on buring its drying cycles, and at what point it is useable. The only limit is your imagination. Best wishes in whatever you do and, Cheers.
The product contains organic solvent. Repeated exposure to organic solvents may cause damage to the nervous system and internal organs such as liver, kidneys. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. (EUH066)
I have already posted a comment but after reading the other comments on this video and the replies from this person i felt the need to post another one out of pure disgust. People are looking out for this person's safety and shes telling them off like a bossy 9 year old. Listen if you are reading this, Rinoa, do you see bigger youtubers doing this to their fans and viewers? Everyone who is commenting and saying this is dangerous are just trying to help you and although you may not feel this way, it is the truth. They are looking out for the safety of others. I saw one person telling you to wear a mask next time and you told them to stop speaking out of their butt. Are you kidding me? You have no respect for your viewers and face it, you would never be here without them. I'm sorry that people thought that mixing acetone and styrofoam and touching it without gloves is dangerous. They are just looking out for the safety of you and others as i said before. But if you think you have the rights to be telling your viewers off like this, you will just end up at rock bottom where at this moment i believe you belong. Its disgusting the way you act towards viewers. Revolting. I also saw another comment that said something about this being unsafe and you called their opinion useless. If you have an attitude like that towards fans, you need to turn off comments, or perhaps not read them because imagine how you make them feel if they are just looking out for you or sharing their opinion about this experiment, or perhaps they look up to you and made a funny joke and they got told off by you and called dumb, uneducated, useless, etc. Thanks for reading. If Rinoa is reading this, thanks for hurting plenty of people's feelings and I hope you learn from this comment because I may not be a youtuber, but if i was I would never treat my fans/viewers like trash.
read the msds, the facts say its not dangerous. and yes, opinions are useless when it comes to judging the safety of something. back it up with proof and then i'll pay more attention, but until then its just the ramblings of a chemophobe. its funny that you decide to attack me personally instead of countering my actual argument, that shows that you have no basis to push your belief and are just pushing on the basis of your feelings.
And I mean, Im sorry if it felt i was attacking you. It is really just telling you how i feel about the replies on this video. But thanks for reading i guess.
i find it funny that somebody who doesnt run a YT channel thinks they know more than me, someone who has made a living off YT for years. haha but if you honestly feel i'm being a big ol' meany, then you need to learn a thing or two about how we cant let false information circulate without question. what is wrong with requiring somebody to show evidence? if its clearly not good for your health, then you can tell me why very easilly. so how is it clearly not good for your health? face it, your just a child, and you dont know what you think you do. i have experience with running laboratories and handling chemicals in a professional environment. i've had to look up all the current data on these sorts of things.
I think old tech tear downs are cool. You vids just tinkering w stuff is great. Not sure how many views they generate but look, Big Clive does shitty Chinese crap, ave does tools...they got loads of subs
Emily Frost incorrect that’s actually watered down acetone not exactly water but not as potent as acetone that’s why nail polish remover isn’t called acetone
FINALLY re-found your channel. Originally found you from your rocketry work; now I have to go digging to see if you've continued that work or have surrendered. I also see this is 6 years old, so I also need to see what you've done recently.
Soooo satisfying! Love your videos, very informative and fun and I had no idea you are transitioning and you even logged your progress that's a very brave thing to do! You go girl! Keep it up 👍
