Just absolutely AWESOME. One of my favs! First chair violinist absoluteley rocks! What a talent she has. So does the whole orchestra...sooo talented. When he sings he sounds just like John....so much enthusiasm! I can tell the entire band loves playing this song. They just played Duquoin, IL 09/03/10 The keys were CRYSTAL clear. Also saw 'em in Detroit in '76...now they are better than ever. Keep on rockin guys! Tommy and JY...you RULE!
Saw em twice @ Florida theatre in Jacksonville: '06, '08. Like they're playing in your living room, man. I remember Tommy played a different guitar every song
This masterpiece, this incredible creation is my absolute favorite Beatles song! In 1967 my best friends mother took us to a department store where we both bought the 45 with the Beatles release hello goodbye but little did I know that on the flipside of that 45 there would be a song that would literally change my life! I am the walrus! I was in second grade and OMG! It really opened me up to all the realms of music! From that point on I was on a definite journey and to this day I still play music and record.
Styx made a great choice adding Lawrence Gowan to their lineup. Truly a great talent. Saw him when he was performing as Gowan back in the early '80s and it was just a great show.
@@Bondsback2325 you ain't got shit to add other than what's wrong with everything. I haven't seen you on the cover of Rolling Stone either so go work on your band if you dont like this.
I remember when Larry used to play in a rock band called Rheingold in Toronto in the '80s at a club called the Shamrock in Toronto at Coxwell and Gerrard anyone else remember??? doing covers like this in fact one of my favorites was when he did Babe and little did he know he was he going to sing it later when he joined Styx talk about a full circle great job Larry as usual from Pat's friend Norm the bass player from Blackjack but I doubt if you remember does Fallsview remind you of anything and I'm sure you remember Jackie. nudge nudge wink wink
+Rich Roach Absolutely! An beautiful version made even better by the fact that it's kids playing the strings! Styx also were fantastic. Heard this version on Bob and Tom years ago and looked it up. Love it.
@@Bondsback2325 in case you haven't noticed there arent a lot of people honoring Lennon by covering his tunes of late particularly this one which isnt an easy cover. How many times did John play it live? I've never heard a live version of it, so if you wanna hear it live this is what you get
I was there, best concert I ever saw. Weather delayed start, so the whole orchestra started doing the wave befire the show began. I think this was as memorable for the members of Styx as well, they were so into the show!
I get it! Most Styx fans will say it's not really Styx without Dennis DeYoung. We want Dennis back, but this isn't even his song. John Lennon wrote this song, and this is a great cover of it.
Oingo Boingo did a great job with this song as well back in the 80's. Danny Elfman put a good spin on it and took it to a heavy level with the guitars. Just with the band. I enjoyed seeing this youth orchestra perform on this track, refreshing.
Spectacular!!! Does anybody know anything about this production? When? Where? Who is the Contemporary Youth Orchestra? Someone below said John Lennon would love this. Absolutely!!
The Walrus was Paul, great as it gets here for best Lennon/ McCartney line up! All 60’s love children Rock-N-Roll 🧬 DNA 🧬 Thank YOU 💋Styx 💋for unique talented genius! 💯☮️
I agree Styx version is better! But you have to take into consideration that Styx. Has alot more equipment and resourses to work with than The Beatles did
Can't believe I only now just saw this video..... Does my hear good to see a younger generation SO enjoying a Beatles classic.... And such a great rendition!
This is still the best version of the song, that I have ever heard, including the original. On occasion, such a great piece of art transcends into magic, and this is as good as it gets!
B. S. used to do an incredible version of this!! And they were just a 3-piece band!! Pete Rossi (guitar/backing vocals) Zak Pendulum (bass/vocals) Mike Huebler (drums/ backing vocals)
