Yeah, In bvr engagement you can use missile close to their max range in order to put you opponent on the defensive and/or gain an altitude advantage and in general just put pressure on them
Depends, its theoreticaly possible to take down another missile with a fox-2 . And something like an aim-9 will always be cheaper then a big hypersonic missile...
When the USA or Russia release stats for their military hardware, they're either grossly overstated, or understated, and never in between. They overstate to push the other side into pumping funds that could be used elsewhere into R&D, or they understate so that the other side doesn't know they're at a disadvantage. They always try to keep each other guessing which statements are which.
MaverickBlue Honeywell literally released all of the technical information on the F22 and F35 to China, amongst other countries like Mexico (which would definitely give the info to Russia, as would China that’s why all of these 5th gen fighters came out all of a sudden)
Listening through headphones, sitting on a bus. Nearly jumped out of my skin on strike, you’re commentary gave me a sense of safety, people looking at me, judging.
@@taylorc2542 I don't even play, but from what I could understand I think that since the AMRAAM is bugged right now it's likely that it thinks the R-73 is somewhat a worthy signature. If it keeps doing that after the bugfix that means the R-37 is a bit huge
Laughed so hard on the first kill damn near fell off my chair. Championship editing GS and the map you chose is as cinematically gorgeous as the R-37 is kinematically lethal. Damn fine work. Next vid: SU-35/R-37 vs. a very high Mach and High altitude F-14/AIM-54MK60.
haha, man i laughed so hard on round 1... "i should be saf...." i jumped from my seat because the explosion(i had the volume really loud and headsets on my ears), i laughed and then Vladimir kicks in.... Respect man for your videos!!
Not sure I would take THAT particular paint scheme into combat myself (I prefer the "splinter" camouflage on Russian aircraft for that) but it IS a cool looking paint scheme. Just seems too conspicuous for my taste. *EDIT* Least I wouldn't use that for D.C.S. SIMULATED air-"combat" (your mileage may vary)
Like the Phoenix, the AA-13 will climb then descend on it's target, which increases the range. Best defense is to dive in the direction of the missile. The force imparted on the missile as it dives makes it harder to maneuver. Pilots in Vietnam did the same against SAM'S, where those missiles have to fight the inertia of gaining altitude and we're unable to dive to hit American planes. Give it a try.
Man, that was EPIC. I really wanted that missile's explosion to have some momentum like they do in real life (at least in videos showing missile impacts on aircraft) but it still was super cool! Thanks for bringing us great content my guy!
Yes, the flanker is very visually nice plane, not to mention its sick as hell at air shows, definitely one of the best 4th gen jets out there (NOTE: “4th gen”)
I’ve watched a video about SU35 that shows its radar detected a hovering helicopter from around 70 miles away in a mountainous region. I don’t think F15 has the slightest chance against SU35 in real life ( though even in DS the Eagle was saved by pure luck coz AMRAAM hit a missile!)
That 1st KIA was epic. Do not ask me why, I had this video as surround (was gonna watch it ASAP) while I was practicing at SPA in iRacing and I thought my connection failed when you stopped talking 😂
Nice video, GS! I notice the first R-37 killed you with launch warning, but without seeker active warning? Is that a bug? And I was really surprised the AMRAAM could kill R-37 lol!!
So he shot that on datalink with the A-50 while you dont have a datalink at all with AWACS. Maybe give it a shot without the Su35 having that advantage or use the F-16 with an E3 and datalinked?
The F-16s currently have some issues with AMRAAMs, so I suspect GS brought out the F-15 because of that and the fact that we haven't seen her in a while.
I've been playing around with this flanker mod for a bit now and it is so much fun to use! it's nice to have a flanker that is actually reliable and won't inverted flatspin when you try to get behind a bandit
At such a high closing speed, any evasive manoeuvres you make essentially appear far slower from the R-37's perspective compared to a normal missile. Without the fortunate missile kills by yourself, it could have been 3 clean kills to the R-37.
And theres people there saying that gripen is a sukhoi killer... maybe it can but I would never understimate a sukhoi again in all my life. f-15 is one of the best platform in the world and suffered a lot. I think that is not easy for anyone...
Have you talked with Longshot to coordinate releasing both sides of the fight as complimentary videos? Would love to see the same engagement from both viewpoints with each pilots' real-time commentary on the fight as it happens.
Quietly having sunday breakfast at 11:30AM. I finish my meal and turn to set my plate aside. 6:35 into the video I turn back around having a sip of water "should be relatively sa-" my eyes make contact with the screen and ears hear the scream of that R37 at the same time. Yeah I actually had just enough time to think "FU-" right before I literally flinched and nearly had a successful launch from my chair. LOL That got me good, something about active noise cancelling makes everything 10 times worse. LOL
Look around 17:55 ~ 17:56, both launches actually targeted his missiles. I wonder if that thing is so big that you would be able to see it coming on a better radar, say in an F-14? Also, there's something really weird going on with the AMRAAMS, looking at the third AIM-120C launch at 17:54: At first I thought it was just because the R-37 was directly in the flightpath of the AMRAAM, in the direction that it would be looking to acquire the Su-35, and by the inverse square law its radar return appeared 'bigger' than the Su-35. However, that AMRAAM shouldn't have already been pitbull at that time, since it was launched with a distance-to-target of ~50.36nm, but you can see it start to track the R-37 after only traveling something like a third of that distance.
