Daniel Pineda I been tweaking for them to play it just out of respect for knighten but so claim if they don’t have the rights to the original composer who made it sound this way it can no longer get field play. 🤷🏾♀️
Kerry Ross because round this time they were playing it the person who composed it to sound like this was directing them when they were playing it 🤷🏾♀️
10 years ago I remember being at this game in Bama. 5th QT sitting on Famu side and was thinking SU put their foot in this one. 10 years later man this video bring back memories.
Alot of the comments are about scsu plays this song vs. SU Mr C. Knighten wrote this song while at SU he later left SU and went to scsu. But it was written for SU and the SU swag. Mr Knighten crabbed at SU in 1969 and believe me that is where his heart was. No other band could play anything like the jukebox. FALL 93 reppin
I would like to think Dr. Knighten for his body of work at SU. He use to write for LLI too. Back when we went to Cali for the Rose bowl. 08 to be exactly Doc too
i play bass drum in a professional drumline where the primary style is Corps style, when i play the way i do they ask me why, and i tell them "cause i went to southern, thats why". i see other swac, meac bands with 6-10 bass drums 6-8 tenors-10-15 snares and NO one can match the sound of the Funk Factory NO ONE!! it makes me proud to say that.
southerns style is upper register bass. they are a new orleas brass band, thats southerns heritage, that will never change. I do agree though, however as a tuba player there is a technique to playing a fiberglass horn well in the lower register.
Til this day, I've never heard the prettiest most brightest kiss off of a grand D in any band... not ever since this song idk what band it is... Glenn was just different yall...
Im not a big swac fan though i do love the power from those bands. Interesting to hear some opinions comparing this one to SCSU 09 pick any version meac swac, 101 vs legion don really matter
