No, it was turbinado sugar, a less refined form of white sugar. You should be able to substitute white sugar. I think brown sugar would be too molasses tasting for this, interfering with the strawberry flavor b

A lot of Asian people are lactose intolerant (including me) so we usually incorporate lactaid or an Asian equivalent brand to it in our drinks!

Lac intolerant but I'd love to try everything! We take pills with lactase to help us break down the lactose :)

​@@ange38882 It's just lactase, the enzyme responsible to break down lactose, in pill form. Just go to your local chemist and ask for lactase pills. There are also different units which determines the strength. I usually get the 9000 lactase units because my body is shit as. I buy the Lacteeze Ultra Double Strength as that works v well for me. Good luck! If you're in Australia, it's a bit tricky to source but Terry White and Chemist Warehouse should stock them.
