Great wholesome episode with a little bit of Danji lore if you listen to his dialogue. I'm pretty sure Danji had a little brother or little sister I'm not sure if this has been outright stated but its quite clear. Its probably also the case that they died by Daiji's dialogue talking about taking care of someone again and making sure to care about someone while you can (trickstar is probably their childhood card which danji gave to yu-yu). Danji probably sees Yu-yu as his new brother or sister. Best boy Tohya seems to have the crazy looks which gives me the feeling he may be the kinda antagonist for this season and that he's just gotten his spark/addiction to the card game back which will motivate him to keep coming back to fight.

It may not have been a traditional vanguard episode but damn it was wholesome as fuck and the soundtrack was cool in this one, plus a little hint at the overall story arc going on continuing from the awesome last episode.

Who sleeps with their hand down their shorts? That was a weird choice to make character wise. Also, Danji lives in the hood with his turtle while working like fifty part-time jobs. The struggle is real.

Yu-yu is like everyone little brother/ sister . And I really appreciate the casual cardfight scenario without all those laundry distracting the game. Feel genuine

Vanguard Overdress has to be ine of my favorite seasons of vanguard. Even Tohya's crazed smirk for that one scene was top notch and reminded me of OG Ren and psyqualia. Can't wait to see what happens next for the next episode cause this one was adorable

This episode was really wholesome and I'm starting to love Overdress more and more as each episode gets released. I just hope we get to see Zakuza and Tomori get a turn cardfighting soon

For context those who don’t have twitter and did not see the preview, Yu yu is sick and Danji is trying to make him feel better after he suddenly collapsed in the circus. Also Tohya is somewhat giving of crazy Ren vibes with the whole smirk thing.

What I see in this episode... about Vanguard, not a bit, all I can see is YuyuXDanji and Yuyu crossdressing using dress and nurse outfit brought by the others(in my imagination). Seriously, Vanguard is trying to open a new world in a different way for me especially with Yuyu VA is too good for this kind of role.

Whoever voiced YuYu, I think that one will be the perfect voice actor for Sumeragi Subaru (Tokyo Babylon). Their personalities are quite the same too (at least early on in the story)

Both gave me the “Call me by your name” fantasy that I’m looking for, I’m definitely living

CLAMP or whoever wrote the story this time is cramming more than 30+ episodes of subtle BL in just 12 episodes. 😍

Random note, but the BGM this episode really carried the mood and tone. Very enjoyable episode with Danji being overprotective of Yu-yu. Which, if Danji's backstory is anything to go by, makes sense. He's a little awkward, but I'm sure he means well as the big brother wanting to look out for their little sibling. It's a cute dynamic. Though, what's up with Tohya? The questions, and all the mysteries of what will happen next! Edit: I did like this episode. It builds more character, and I like how cardfights are strictly used to resolve issues, internal struggles and hardships, and not used as blatant advertisement. This to me feels like what Cardfight Shinemon should have been. If that story was just about Shin taking responsibility and working towards becoming a proper adult with the help of Esuka, that'd have been a much better show without the need to go back to the supernatural elements in the form of Planet Cray. I get that not everyone likes it, but I want some wholesome character building moments with my cardfights. Besides, we're building towards villain Tohya, from the looks of it. ...Oh my god, Keter Sanctuary's history makes sense now!

I'm stuck at a crossroads. One hand I really want no stop fights or a "full" fight in all its glory. Even the last fight it felt like it went from 2-2 damage, over trigger, then game: very abrupt. On the other, this is some pretty good character and world setting. You have to build the world for us to care about the characters and the writing is doing that. Also with the world building the later filler (calm before the storm) episodes will have material and story that will matter, already been built up, and not the usual go to the beach, BBQ, or party events. It could be defineing moments that change a players motivations, key deck cards, or the dynamics between characters. Im excited to see where this goes. Most of us are coming off ZERO or TCG that are only fights or the end of some Vanguard series which have some memorable back to back fights that get the blood pumping.

I’ve been a vanguard fan since season 1 and I don’t play the game since the end of v cause it’s time to evolve , but I love this anime because it shows people’s real life situations they may play vanguard but there are things that get in the way, being ill and stress of education and life so this is more realistic to life of a hobby and the friends you make , some of my best friends I met playing this game and were still friends after vanguard so this anime is very real life and plus this yaoi pairing is just like Aichi and Kai but cuter so anyone hating on an anime for not being card game enough get over it , it’s an ANIME!!!!!
