Our common turon in the Philippines are long and we are using “Saba” type of banana but I guess what Chanwoo did will also pass our preference. It’s amazing that he always consider making a feature food for us PH iKONICS and to other countries. Major plus is that Yunhyeong can recognize that too! ♡
다음 레시피는 말레이시아에서 온 매기 카레 라면을 요리하는 것을 제안합니다 😍 The recipe look so easy and delicious. We will definitely try it 😋 Thank you for using MYiKONIC gift and thank you for bringing us joy every friday with Chanwoosari content. For next recipe we suggest to cook maggi curry instant noodle from Malaysia 😍
Chanwoo : After I finished, I searched it up online. It looks a bit different from mine. But mine looks more delicious. I love this confident chanwoo 😆
Turon is a banana covered with wrap while Banana cue is a banana covered in sugar dip in oil.. I am a Filipino and this is our favorite meryenda (Snack).
Chanwoo continuously improving chef skills is the character development we like to see😂😂 also Yunhyeong and Chanwoo's banter at the end is the cutest😂😂
In Indonesia that's called "piscok"/pisang coklat which means chocolate banana it's simillar with that but we add some chocolate and a bit of sugar so when we fry it will melt and the pastry sheet will covered by caramel from the sugar. I think you should use different type of banana chanwoo,if you use those banana or something like cavendis banana the taste will be different because the cavendis banana would taste better if being eaten just like that(without any cooking process) and it won't taste really good if it go through more cooking process. For making such kind of dishes we usually use type of banana with harder texture like "pisang kepok"/ kepok banana so if this banana gone through some more cooking process the texture still good and tasty. But I can't deny you doing such a pretty good job in rolling the pastry sheet chanwoo so proud of you 🤩😍
Im glad to see you again chanwoo, making banana cue (from Philippines) makes my heart flutter huhu I want More videos of youuu that making recipe from Philippines pleasseee
I'm a Filipino and I don't think it's a banana cue. What Chanwoo did is actually called Turon. Banana cues are usually serve in stick. But whatever it is, Chanwoo did great in making it. And Filokonics we won again!!!🇵🇭 Edit: I just realized that the banana he used is not 'Saba'. That was the type of banana we usee in making it. I'm wondering what would be the taste of it haha.
This is turon channn 💖😊 and we usually use “saba” a different variety of banana but you are resourceful 😊😗 We love you here in the 🇵🇭 lots of love channn💖
I love how Chanuya likes making Filipino dishes. Next time try to use saba when you do it again (don't know if it's available there). Then, try BALUT, one of the exotic street foods here in the Philippines. Love you Chanuya... Sending hugs and kisses :) ps. I am eating Turon right now for my snack.
As a Filipino ikonic, I'm so happy seeing Chanwoo making Philippine snacks and enjoying them 💕 oh and Chanwoo, you can also try with just banana, even without the wrapper 😁
As a Filipino seeing you make Turon makes me super happy, you made it really well in my opinion. Visually kinda like what's served in restaurants. But as they have mentioned usually we use another type of Banana that's thicker called Saba. Anyway still very proud and happy.
I'm a Filipino and what Chanwoo did is turon and not Banana Cue, but they are both Filipino snacks. Still so happy that Filipino snacks are featured in his videos. My iKONIC heart aaaaack
This is one reason why we love you. Thank you for always appreciating our food. We always support and loved you chanuya oppa. And we are always here for ikon. love your content Filo-IKONIC ❣
I love how Chanwoo is very enthusiastic in cooking, "even a bad cook like me can easily make it", hahahah the frying part is the hardest, it feels having a war with the cooking oil, right Chanwooya? hehehehe
chanwoo now realizes that filipino baiting would work on his channel, and that would increase his views than any of his past videos, i really do admire it, the only channel i could watch related to philippines
Turon is best with langka (ripe jackfruit) inside!! To those thinking of trying this recipe please don't forget to include this must ingredient. Love from the Philippines, Chanuya! 💕 Edit: And Chanwoo actually made "turon" rather than "banana cue". And it's best to cut your banana lengthwise too instead of just half.
@@DyahAlifda in our local dialect called Bisaya it's actually called nangka too! And yes it has also come to us the similarities between our languages. There was a comparison going around the net for a while late last year.
hello, chanwoo! i live from the philippines 🇵🇭 and this is actually called ''turon" (a banana wrapped in spring roll) plus we use a different type of banana called "saging na saba" (i think it is called plantains in english?) which is larger and more starchy than the bananas that we usually eat, we also add "langka" or jackfruit to the turon for an added flavor. "banana cue" on the other hand are bananas (also "saging na saba") rolled in sugar and skewered in barbeque sticks and it almost looks a chicken satay. anyways i really appreciate you cooking filipino foods and introducing it to your fans, thank you ❤️
Chanwoo to Yunhyeong: You look like a Banana 😭 This is my fave snack, i remember back in school if I need a random snack I'd always buy this because it's tasty and cheap, thank you Chanwoo!!! Love this Turon you made
Thank you, Chanwoo for always trying Filipino food. We use saba, another variety of banana, but we appreciate your effort and cuteness. Kindly cook pancit next time hihi..:)
Try making another filipino snack kwek-kwek, chanwoo-ya it's quail eggs wrapped in bright orange batter with sweet and spicy sauce!! then have all the members taste it.
Cooking is obviously not chanwoo's expertise but seeing him trying his best to cook something is just so cute & I felt so proud that he chose a Filipino snack this time. He did a great job tho despite his little struggles😊 ++++ the last part gives off a whole sibling energy😂 & yh is also wearing H's hoody🥺
Actually what chanwoo make is called "valencia", banana cue is the one that was like skewered and coated by sugar and also deep fried. Which I think chanwoo will also like. But yes chanwoo you did very well! as a filipino I was so proud and thankful that you always feature Filipino culture in your vlog!!! ❤️
One of the Filipinos' favorite afternoon snacks (merienda) is turon along with banana que, camote que and maruya (banana fritter) perfect with sago and gulaman as your drinks.
This is funny bc I was just looking up healthy snack recipes with bananas haha not sure if this will classify as healthy (well… it won’t for my standards since I’m trying limit sugar though banana has natural sugars) but I may try just for the heck of it. Edit: 3:54 the most relatable thing when it comes to cooking 😂 I have intense battle music playing in my head because it’s that serious
@@iflipover no it's not. We've used it often when we don't have plantains. Frozen Saba can be found where we are but it's not often available. He used a ripe banana not overripe so the sugar content isn't as high. Also, you have to think that these bananas ripened during transit not on the tree so it won't be as sweet. That why adjusting the sugar when frying is important so that it won't be "sickeningly sweet" as you say .
Ok, did anyone else think that paper towel was gonna catch on fire? 😂 Whenever Chanu cooks, I worry that he will either burn the dorm down, or cut off an appendage. 😆 But I love that he tries and he always surprises me with how well it turns out. Thank you, Chanu, for this gift of your channel content every week! 💓
Thank you Chanu. Filipinos can make a lot of menu from bananas(saba) such as: 1. Banana cue (deep fried banana with sugar and put it in a stick) 2. Turon(banana wrapped in a lumpia wrapper/spring roll and fried)- could be cook without sugar or with sugar on top 3. Ginamos (in our dialect) -mashed banana with flour and deep fried 4. Sinapot/maruya(in our dialect) - bananas cut into halves, dip in flour batter then place 4 to 5 pcs on cacao leaves or banana leaves cut into rectangular shapes and deep fried it. If the bottom part is already cooked, turn it over by removing the banana leaves first. 5. Pinakro(in our dialect) - bananas cut into four and cook it in a casserole with coconut milk, a little bit of sugar and salt 6. Nilupak(in our dialect) - steamed bananas then mashed it in a "lubang" mixed with sugar, grated young coconut, and molded into various shapes then put a topping with margarine(optional), or chunked peanut (optional)
watching chanwoo cooking is always fun 😂 if you add chocolate messes inside the spring roll pastry, it's called pisang coklat/piscok (pisang = banana, coklat = chocolate) in Indonesia, and the chocolate will melt in heat
As a Filipino i would say that you did a great job,.👍🏻👍🏻. And we are happy that you keep on introducing our local and famous snacks 😭😭.. Thank you ❤️❤️ we love you ☺️☺️☺️ FYI. * We don't use that kind of banana for that, it's a diff kind of banana, we call it saba. * Banana cue is different. Its fried banana covered with melted sugar(as you did) then you put it on a stick (just like your corndog). The one in the spring roll we called it TURON., Maybe we can call it banana roll 😅😅😅???.. Anyways.. Happy New Year.. and goodluck to you.. and more videos to come YEY🤣🤣
One of my fave snacks! But it’s actually called “turon” and the banana que is the banana snack that’s served in a stick and then sugar coated. 🍌 There’s also an iced version of this similar to Halo-halo and it’s called “Saba con hielo”. However, you just need to buy the bigger bananas which is called “saba” tho I’m not sure if it’s available in South Korea tho. 😅
Wowww you did a great job there Chanwoo!!🤩 The authentic turon is we used the Saba banana and slice into pieces lengthwise then we sugar coat every piece and put it on the spring roll so when you fry them it will melt then directly add sugar from frying.it's really good I swear.but after watching this o craved for turon with ice cream 🤩
One of my fave snack here in Phil. Thank you so much for making this Chanwoo 🥰 We actually called it “Turon” 😊 . Tried making this too before but I rolled the banana in sugar before wrapping it inside the pastry and I’ll add jackfruit! It taste more delicious 😋 and more sweeter ( i love sweets ) Never tried eating it with Ice cream, later I’ll buy one and try it 🥰🥰
I'm happy you're cooking filipino dishes. There are many filipino dishes that you should try to cook. You'll like it for sure. Btw we call this "turon" 😍🇵🇭
As a Filo iKONIC, this Banana Cue (Turon) look so delicious but you should try using Saba so it will taste better! 🥰 Please try to cook more filo foods, Chanwoo! Thank you so much for this! I love you so much 💚
Chanwoo : I really think we can sell this, it's too good. PD-nim : Should we try selling this? Chanwoo : Should we? Lol Chanwoo always wants to sell anything
Chanu, you should try making it again next time. If you have time, you can go to asian stores and look for ‘saba’ banana, that will make the Turon tastier, like authentic turon from the Philippines. And, when you make turon, in a filipino way, you should cut the banana and make it thin, then dip it in the sugar then cover it with the roll, that’s how we do it. But, you did a good job in making your own turon! We enjoyed this video! Good Job, Chanuu!!! 👌🏻🤩🥰👏🏻
You can definitely sell that Chanwoo, here in Ph it costs for around 10-15 pesos. It's called turon here in PH, Turon saved me from hunger when I was in Highschool because it's affordable. Thank you for featuring another Filipino delicacy. Love from PH-iKONIC
