@@TheArctus BRUH I BEEN SAYING THAT SINCE MK11. His ice clone don’t even freeze in different poses anymore. Injustice 2 even had that different ice sculptures you can use. And back to Mk 11 his win animations had different sequences that you press he can put different ice sculptures in his win animations. He’s lacking every where.

Since it's release Guilty Gear Strive and Arcsys has replaced MK/NRS in the FGCs "Big 3". DBFZ and GGS earned Arcsys being in the "Big 3", Mk11 and Mk1 earned NRS being kicked out of the "Big 3".

The only way to be good with sub is just mind games really, you can’t depend on one kameo to help you out, sometimes a different kameo makes your opponent think of a different playstyle to fight you which can be helpful to you, learning his weaknesses and make sure not to repeat, doing block then immediately a special after unblocking helps in case you want to slide so they can’t always tell if you’re gonna risk it. Learn to use multiple kameos Sonya, Khameleon, goro is actually able to give you an easy 60% combo, etc, as someone who heavily played mk11 sub and mk1 sub I can only say don’t be repetitive for and DONT slide when your opponent is teabagging, never do that 😅.
His dive kick is trash. Even shitty online players just up block as soon as you go into the air and blow you up. If it was on par with kung Lao's dive kicks speed and recovery then it would be good.

Make his ice clown stay longer and have a special option that causes the last clown to stay out 7 seconds. Also make his ice ball start up 6 frames plus add a armour protection move as in MKX grandmaster sub. He needs nothing else. Subzero is luke-warm in this game when he should be ice-cold.
I think a big difference here is that they do not stream. Getting good matches and upload them on YT is way different than being consistent live using Sub-Zero only.
It feels like the NRS team Tried to make Sub a balance type character. But it really seems like he is a joke character at this point. Unless it is Sikander using him he's not good at all. Sub isn't relying on Khameleon he's relying on Luck, MU and Sikander to be at least decent. Sub still being Bad even with Good Kameos is just hilariously dumb.
I think they tried to not make him less powerful then mk11 when he had the ability to be a literal guessing game with unreactable 50/50’s but They went way too far
Sub isn’t that bad with khameleon or ferra this game is based around kameos so you can’t say something is bad and only good with such and such kameos you will always have a kameo
Tons of people in the stream chat were coping hard saying all the Sindel player did was zone, but if you watch the entire set and pay attention, Sikander was being punished the whole time for doing slides, whiffing strings quite badly and losing air-to-air trades. On top of that, the Sindel player was using Tremor very well, we rarely see someone using all of Tremor's moves that effectively. The Sindel player played the match up very well, he clearly knows how to fight SZ. That doesn't change the fact that SZ is a terrible character, but to say this Sindel player was bad is downright false. No one in that chat would be able to beat Sikander, no matter which character they would pick.
Sik was literally unable to get to her and when he did he was punished for gap closing. Nobody in chat said Sindel's player was bad, the entire point was that this match was insanely boring and how the only thing bro was doing was either zone or punish any and all attempt to close that gap. It also doesn't help that Foxy kept yapping afterwards that Sik picking up Lao would make him win. He was whiffing, doing slides and losing air-to-airs because Sub-Zero has literally no other tools. Sindel's air-to-air is better because she has better hitboxes, Sub has literally 1 mid and slide is the only way he could try to close the gap, bruh.

@@Kek393 Yeah, he did a lot of mistakes because there was no good strategy to get in without taking risks. I was just pointing out that the majority of the time the Sindel player was punishing and countering him instead of just mindlessly spamming projectiles the whole time like some people made it seem. Maybe he should have tried Lao for a couple games, Tom Brady was in the chat and he also told Sik to switch to Lao, but who knows... The Sindel player had an answer to everything, even after Sik switched to Quan he was countering Quan's zoning and armor portal set ups. I just think the Sindel player came more prepared for the match ups. With all that said, SZ is still a bottom tier character and they should buff the ice ball and reduce the ice clone cooldown time.

Sindel simply countered Sub-Zero fully and immensly. Lao does literally NOTHING against this kind of Sindel because Tremor literally blocks the hat AND she was in the air 95% of the game. Did you watch the same game? Bro was literally running away the entire time and abusing the fact that Sub literally had 0 way to close that gap. Ice Clone cooldown isn't an issue, the issue is that, yes, his ice ball is slow as hell but his strings literally all have gaps. Realistically if that guy played against Sik who wasn't already raging and giving up as Quan he'd get bodied.

Correction:Mk is still a bad game but slightly better after the patch but still not in a state for the community to pretend like the game is on par with the big boys like sf6,t8 and ggstrive

The main problems are the slide isn’t good and they completely nerfed his ice ball compared to mk11. The startup for the ice ball is to slow. Those two moves use to make the opponent nervous. His combo strings are two predictable. NRS just nerfed Sub zero for no reason and they know it. You shouldn’t have to struggle so hard with a character.
Let's be real here, the devs made him bad on purpose. At this point if they wanted Sub-Zero to be a strong character, they could've fixed any number of his HUGE glaring issues. At least make clone unreactable if nothing else.
Yea the f12 clone buff is nice like he gets 320 with Sonya midscreen that’s it though and I guess 12clone works in the corner huh. Baraka cyrax is nice now thank god I mailed someone else but sub but I can play him and keep up on him.
Speaking about Sikander555 : The dude has probably developed a zen mind. A mind that knows no anger, no pain, no mental instability, a mind that knows not how to quit. Me, if I was him. I would have probably taken a sledgehammer and begun destroying all my gaming equipment, destroying my entire room, have considered jumping from a bridge and the likes. Bro this guy played over 8000 Kancer Leagues matches and King Of The Hill matches in his MK career. It's amazing that this guy did not develop a mental illness or considered suicide t-ill now knowing all the abuse he is putting himself on a daily basis. Brother Siikander has has numerous mental breakdowns on stream before. One time, one of his mods contacted his mother to go check up on him and to end the stream because he was having such a bad mental breakdown
Tom like you were saying so so few characters in the game have real offense defense or trap setups. Like 80% of the cast has NOTHING for somebody just crouch blocking aside from throw. So - as we know - this is purely a strike throw game. At least the game has combos off of throws to make throw less of a poor gamble. But yeah I’m saying - it ain’t just Sub - chars in general are so so tame in this
I just watched your match at NEC13 against tyrant in MK9. It definitely was more 3 hit strings and less staggers, than the current MK system now. It was way more mix back in MK9.
People really dont want mk11 broke scrubzero either, the way they designed the character makes it hard to balance, if you remove the cooldown of the clone it would be too much in the corner, if they make ex iceball faster so it could combo it coule help
SZ lives and dies by the 50-50. He is very annoying to fight against, when he can tick almost anything into the ice clone, and do a low or overhead combo starter.
Aside fromt the fundamentals and actual identity of sub, his damage nerf is still absurdly bad when doing over 40% combos. If the opponent is not a little under 41% health or so then your not killing them, just low health. Other characters will kill.
i do agree with you to a point but the cameo is not whats wrong here if you amp ground freez you lose out on damge we need more string to connect i feel like we as sub mains are getting the shit end of the stick it feels like every one in this game can do shit with out relaying on there cameo and theres sub every one crys nurf nurf nurf its like wow fix sub make him as scary as he was at prelaunch and leave it at that i dont wanna play any one but sub zero but in order to hold my head up above my wait i have to figure it out or use some one els sadly
And not admitting that his freeze moves having 20% damage scaling while EVERY other special move IN THE GAME scales at 15% no matter if they leave you in a capture state or not is a big problem as well. They OVER nerfed him before the meta was established now he's the only character on the roster that has special moves that scale like that. No matter how many of these other "buffs" he gets he will still be playing a different game than the ENTIRE cast. If you argue that he doesn't need that nerf reverted saying it's logical in ANY WAY for him to have that scaling then you're just a sweat or tryhard that doesn't mind the struggle just to prove how "good you are at a video game" which doesn't interest me whatsoever. I'm only concerned with fairness and this is just sad because he's the only character that has to avoid using his own specials if he wants to do damage.
A lot of people probably hate his antics and trash talking. But he’s definitely a great sub player. I personally like him but have to mute him when i watch his stream.
Foxy grampa was right. The best thing sikander should've done was use kung lao low hat to get in. Instead sikander was trying to trade which isn't what he was told to do by foxy.

While zoning is annoying to play against ( I know I hate it ), I do actually believe zoning is a skill when used properly. I think the reason it gets insane backlash is because a lot of ppl just spam instead of actually zoning and they all got looped together. To me anyways, spamming is running and throwing projectiles start ti finish with no strategy or game plan at all involved just literally running by any means start to finish. This video shows what zoning actually is. He kept distance to make sure sub’s tools were less effective but he did it with a gameplan of setting up the zoning to learn how you react to it and then using that to setup his chance for offense and converting as soon as he catch you reacting how he wants
@@intellectic9155 that’s basically what I was saying lol. You can still push the pace and zone, but the actual strategy of zoning using distance ( doesn’t have to be full screen ) to set up a move.
