you might think this is ridiculous, but 20% of time if people are really in a hurry and of richer clientele, they will pay the 70,000 yen price. Since regular price is 15,000 yen, that's about double the custom value after factor % sale with no extra customer acquisition cost. AKA customer segmentation. On average 20% of customer will responsible for 80% of the profit, so you got make sure you list out the expensive item first to catch the whale before you spent effort feeding the shrimp.

There’s not a lot of competition in the locksmiting space because lockpicks are ILLEGAL in Japan unless you have a license. So there’s not a ton of companies that do it and those that are in the space can do whatever they want since there’s little to no competition anyway

When I was like 18 I was going on a day trip and I ended up at a gas station in the middle of nowhere and as I got out the wind blasted the door into my hand that was holding my keys, knocking them into the car and slamming the door locked. I had to borrow a phone book from the gas station (I'm old and have lived in poverty my whole life) to call the nearest locksmith, and had to wait nearly two hours for them to get there, and they were going to charge me $100. I had a credit card but he didn't have anyway of running it, and I only had $40 cash on me, so rather than going through the hassle of billing me he just took the $40 and said not to call him again lol
