I don't typically watch commercials but I watch this one every time it's on! I just love how he barks at the guy in the fishing boat is if he's asking "How's the fish biting?" LOL
The commercial is an example of a CARELESS father who does not SECURE, TIE, or tether the canoe during the camping trip. It is like backing-up without checking if your child is behind your car. IN-EXCUSABLE carelessness and should not be followed or emulated. Rates 1 out of 10 stars.
The commercial song is Original Music by Grayson Matthews. This song was produced specifically for the commercial & unfortunately, it is not available to purchase or download on any music sites :-(
dog.." help me Mr fisherman,,i,m trying to escape from this annoying little girl. Please take me away,,,away I demand,,,no more annoying children for this doggie! haha"
That car does a bit of river-hopping in that ad: At 0.04 the car is to the right of the canoe At 0.11 The dad and girl are looking out of the driver's side so the car is still to the right of the canoe At 0.20 and 0.21 the car is to the left of the canoe, girl is looking out the passenger side window, so car must be on the opposite bank to where they started. At 0.22 the car is to the right of the canoe, back on the side where they started.
It was filmed at Rockwood Conservation Area, Ontario, Canada. It is much nicer to visit in person than the commercial shows. www.grandriver.ca/en/outdoor-recreation/Rockwood.aspx
Thanks Keith! That's what I thought but I was not quite sure and it was driving me crazy. As a teenager we would party at night in that cave that was in the ad.
I am shocked that Subaru would endorse a make-believe family who was careless, not only with their pet not being tied up but also not having their canoe safely secured. I find the ad a bit disturbing to be honest, especially being aware that Subaru vehicles are one of the safest in the road.
As a fellow Canadian I just say sheesh...people make mistakes...why take everything so literal...it's a commercial!!!and the dog had a life-jacket on Do you think people will purposely let their pet float down the river on purpose after watching this commercial...you need to put a smile on your face and find a sense of humour..to me what was funny WAS how calm and happy the dog was and that old fisherman watching confused as a dog in a life-jacket was saying bark bark hello as he streamed past in a canoe IT IS FUNNY
I agree. Believe it or not this commercial led me to sell my Subaru. I took a bit of a bath on the sale but that is inconsequential given the marketing practices seen in this commercial.
