The paddles have two modes, in Sport# , it actually simulates 8 gears, in "normal" Sport mode is 6. You can also use them to "activate gear mode" even in Intelligent Drive. Then, if you don't use the paddles for several seconds, the CVT goes back to Intelligent Drive mode automatically.

I bought a 2016 XT for the turbo and love driving the car, it is much more exciting than the rav4, cx-5 etc. If you can get a 2016 or 2017 they come with some facelifted features, such as a newer design for the head and tail lights. Otherwise very similar.

I've read that it actually is faster acceleration if you use the Sport mode. Sport Sharp gives a sportier feel with the "fake gear shifts", but with Sport mode, the CVT is optimally used for smoother and faster acceleration. Does anyone have any more info on that?

What makes the xt engine fail ,is it poor handling, I know guys like tuning this engines Please advise am very interested in this car ,am scared because of the frequent engine break downs
