For everybody who is swapping in a 2.0L keep the coil and wires because they can be mounted 180° backwards and you can swap cylinders 1-2 and 3-4 on the coil because it batch fires. It will save you 200 bucks and could last the life of the swap. Worked on my Subaru Baja. You use one bolt normally and make a small drop-down bracket relocation bracket for the second bolt.
@@KazTere-yn2lr The coil and wires from the JDM 2.0 engine can be used if your 2.5 Baja ignition coil fails. It worked for me with the listed changes! Even if you bought the replacement engine for 800 bucks a quality replacement coil pack could cost over 25% of what we paid for that 2.0. I can only imagine how many of those coils are just thrown out with the JDM intake systems!!!
Hey, hopefully not a dumb question. What can some of the symptoms of a bad coil pack, ignition coil, or spark plug be? Could Small inconsistent pops, sluggish on acceleration from 1500-3500 rpm, miss fires on a specific bank and poor AFR be resultant of those problems?
On a 1992 1.8 distributor the 4 wire connector. Disconnected it but when installing I did not mark the offset plug the wires don't Match up how do I determine the right color code on my engine so that a problem don't happen

Hey, got a 2005 non turbo forester cross sport thats been misfiring, done the spark plugs, iv tested the ignition wires and cylinder 1-3 are at 2.2 ohm and 2.5 ohm, while 2-4 are at about 3.8 ohm, does that seem alright?
there's a diagram on top of that ignition coil that shows where the wires connect. Subaru shows 10-15k ohms for secondary coils on the ignition coil, for 2.5i sohc. shouldn't the primary coil, of the ignition coil, be tested, with the multimeter, to make sure it's not defected? if so, how would that be done with the multimeter? Subaru shows that 1 and 3 plug wire should be approximately 12k ohms, and 2 and 4 wire approximately 22k ohms. I'm getting like 300 ohms on all 4 wires, and they only 6 months old. guessing that's too low, and should be replaced??
I just found this on Subaru. - Ignitor is integrated with the coil. Therefore the resistance of primary side coil cannot be measured. guess that's why you didn't show it ?
