This Legacy is probably the coolest and cleanest I've ever seen. I'd love to see it in action with the DCCD. I have a black pearl 2007 usdm Legacy 2.5GT 5 speed and my dream is to install a full DCCD setup in it. You guys are a huge inspiration!
WOW Jayson!!! Huge thanks for the kind words man! Really appreciate that! We will definitely be posting some videos of us getting wild in it so stick around😁🤙🏼 We have a FB also so when you get around to doing the swap feel free to hit us up for any advice ✌🏼
Yerturbers! 😆 nice setup man. I’ve got an ez30 in a bugeye, mated to a 5-speed controlled by a Haltech Elite 2500 as well. The plan is to turbo it and this video was extremely helpful! Keep the EZ30 content coming man! Hello from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
This is the second video I’ve looked at and I already love this channel. Thank you for showing things that nobody seems to want to show and talk about! I love the video. Great turbo setup on the legacy.
I want you to know I believe in you and your operation. You guys are doing an awesome job. I know how hard it can be to be following your dream. Sometimes funds don't line up and things seem crazy but GOD always seems to find a way. I hope your year is blessed and you (both) continue to grow as a channel, and a company.
Adam we were in the middle of an engine swap so we just did a quick reply but wanted to stop again and say thank you again for your encouraging comment! We really it and you are absolutely right! God always provides and uses great people like yourself to encourage us on the way! We hope to hear from you again!
18:57 c'est terminé ? You speak french? Keep up the content, I'd love to go visit Japan someday and when I do, I must stop at your shop you guys are really cool!!!
A lot of changes have been made to the car but here are some clips of it on the track😅 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JcuxAYAZfwc.html
Great content keep up the good work you guys do !!! I've got a gc8 sti v3 be good to see a install on a AOS as not much around on how to fit them or not to many options on bolt on options either
No not yet, all stock internals 🙂 only running 10psi right now but I have pistons, rods, head studs and a few other internal upgrades that I will be doing then we will bump up the boost. (Even though I feel it is good where it is at😂)
I love ez30r vtec+vvt getting more love and being boosted... Been thinking to put this kind of swap into my jdm forester sf5 as well.. But perhaps i wont really like being nose heavy (and money with current economy situation)..so keeping ej20 will be more than enough for me... Which i have another plan to do ej16 block with ej20 internals and dohc head with stage gsc stage 2 cams built planned.. Love your build Can u share more about the r180 rear diff cv carrier bearing swap for r160 hub? That would help cut the cost down for 6speed swap on non sti model
Thanks for watching! That sounds like an interesting engine build! Yeah here is actually a link from the guy that sells the link explaining the process🙂👍🏻 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-exQtmxWtmu0.htmlsi=SnRPuHeYfbgbIFjX
Ha realise this is a suuuper old comment, but I actually looked into that myself a while back and the EZ30R block weighs pretty much the same as an EJ20 and has almost the same dims overall. So you wouldn't get an heavier up front. Pretty good deal imho
@@simonjames5491 yea very tempting for ez30r swap... But since my car is SF5 of older gen chassis, the front nose where radiator and ac condenser unit is quite short and the extra 30mm length from ez30 engine dimension would require me to do custom radiator to relocate the rad and condenser unit further ahead... But 1 major hurdle is actually because the big displacement engine itself... In my country (🇲🇾) we have Roadtax imposed on every vehicle on the road... And the calculation for roadtax cost relies solely on engine displacement... As example ej20 2000cc disolacement will have around usd $100 for the yearly roadtax.. Meanwhile 3000cc ez30 will net somewhat around usd $500 roadtax... But for ej16 1600cc displacement, the roadtax is just usd $20 yearly.. 😂😂😂 And the loophole is it doesnt matter whats the "actual" internal engine displacement, because they only calculate the tax based on the engine casing factory stamping.. (ej16,ej20,ej25,eg33,ez30 etc etc) So a massive saving on roadtax by just doing that.. 🤭😅
hello i have legacy 2005 2.0r 165 hp n/a i can do 1 stage in this car ?exhaust air filter and remap ?and this motor hold to do turbo 0.4 0.7 max ?or cant ?in my countru we dont have turbo legacys or 3.0r...so only this a/a engines...that why i dont swap...
Im thinking of buying a legacy and doing something similar. However, im unsure what the difference is between an EZ30 and an EZ30R? Are they the same? Ive only seen people talk about the EZ30D vs the EZ30R.
Technically they are all EZ30d’s but to differentiate them the H6 community has dubbed the newer EZ30 the EZ30R. EZ30d has the aluminum manifold and the EZ30”R” has the black one like mine👍🏻
Do you guys have a backstory video on your business there? I lived in Japan for a long time and the visa requirements are super limited for acceptable work as are buying property and I would imagine owning a business as a foreigner. Did you have dual citizenship or family that supported the legal stuff or something? You've kinda got a dream setup as far as doing what you love where you love. I'm assuming the money is not too bad either consider the cars
That would be a cool video to shoot but we don’t have one at the moment😅 The short version of the story is we met at Church and both were Subie guys. One of us is half Japanese and the other is prior military and now married to a local and that is how we hold Visa’s. We are super blessed and looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us. Fortunately for us no one else on island is Subie Specific so business is good🙂 Thanks for showing interest in our Story!
@@OkiSubies I figured it was something like that. That's awesome mans! I'm super jealous. Not visiting The Islands is probably my biggest regret in Japan. The fact that you guys are the go-to Subie shop is a plus as well! As much as I don't want an RHD, just knowing the mileage and the condition that Japanese people keep their cars keeps me thinking about importing one. I guess we'll have to wait and see... Keep doing your thing and thanks for the reply! Peace from The States
Hi I also have a turbo ez30 legacy making 250wkw atm. How much power are you currently making as I want to make more but have heard you shouldn’t go for more on stock internals. Thanks
Ive been building subaru engines for a decade now, and i have been considering doing an EZ30 turbo in my legacy, but the rods in the EZ make me really nervous. what rods are you using and how much power are you running on them?
I am actually still on stock rods. Long block is bone stock but I am only boosting 11psi which isn’t even in the actual efficiency range of this turbo😅 People who have dyno’d around 11psi are about 350whp but we don’t actually have a dyno so not sure. Even with low boost the car is an absolute blast and has plenty of power. I do have forged internals for a build but I haven’t built the spare motor yet. I got my rods from a guy in Australia named Aaron Gipp, he is really familiar with them. If you are in the states then Outfront motorsports is also really familiar with these engines.
@@OkiSubies okay cool, thanks for the fast reply! yeah i am in the US and im familiar with outfront. Currently i have a destroked EJ25 with a rotated turbo setup in a swapped 1995 legacy. i would like to use my Perrin rotated uppipe, downpipe and turbo on an EZ30D (the ones with the single port) and route the exhaust around the front like the EJs factory turbo manifold. what are your thoughts?
From what I have heard, the headstuds are smaller on the D setups. We have a N/A EZ30D in a GC8 and they are also fun but the ez30R has newer technology that makes is way better so I would only do it if you can do the EZ30R. You being used to the high revving 2.3L it is going to be a huge difference lol. More torque but rpms only rev to 7k lol I push mine to 7500 every now and then though
I am using outfront motorsports fuel rails and ID1050x setup. Pump gas and water/methanol. I also had to use the Radium in-tank surge system to prevent from loosing fuel pressure 🙂
Yes the concept would be the same. The headers would be the biggest difference because the “D” has the single exit heads but in turbo applications it will be fine🙂👍🏼
Hello loving the videos! Do you have allot of experience with the twin turbo legacy BH5'S? if so could you make some sort of video as information is hard to come by in other parts of the world and hello from New Zealand!
We have been really surprised how many requests have came in for the twin turbo Legacy! We will definitely be putting that video on the priority list! Thanks for watching!
They are actually pretty rare even in Japan! The only one that we have is the one that we purchased from mainland Japan. Stay tuned because we will have a video featuring our RS!
I am using a 50mm turbosmart with a 10psi spring. I tried running a smaller spring at first because I am only running 11psi but I had to give it up to 90% duty cycle so I bumped up the spring and was able to bring the duty cycle around 60%. I am assuming it is because of the back pressure.
@OkiSubies what exhaust housing do have and when would you say the car hit the boost threshold but wich do you before the 2.5 h4 or the 3.0 h6 witch would you pick and why and how much more torque would you say the h6 has over the h4
I can’t remember the exhaust housing exactly but it is the smaller of the two of the G30-660. Once I lower compression and let the turbo breathe more it should be fine. Boost comes on quickly. I don’t floor it much below 3000rpms but when giving it wide open throttle at 3k it is at full boost by 4k. Spool up time is very nice. That is a really good question! 2.5L still has a good amount of torque and the aftermarket support is plentiful and affordable so it is always a good option. The ez30 has a decent amount of aftermarket parts now but there aren’t a lot of shops that are confident with them so it depends what you plan on doing with the EZ30. For me personally, EZ30 turbo is the most fun I have had in all of the Subaru’s that I have driven and owned. I have owned Subaru’s with the ej25, ej207, ej20x, and driven pretty much all of them and the torque with the ez30 is way more fun to me.
