Just wanna exactly what is happening in that hold? From what I'm seeing he's just holding the guy by his neck...? Is that all? or am I missing something?
Most wrestling moves have roots in real combat sports and can be extremely dangerous and painful. But not all of them. Take the iconic iron claw of the Von Erichs or its variant the abdominal claw. To do the iron claw the wrestler puts his hand over their opponent's face and acts like they're squeezing the guy's head and he'll sell the move like it's the most painful thing in the world. It's a cool visual to see some jacked dude squeezing the life out of his opponents with one hand like its a comic book or something but give it a try on yourself. I don't care how strong somebody is they aren't doing any damage squeezing your head with the fingers of one hand. The Rock's "People's Elbow" is another one. If you've never heard of it look it up. It's the stupidest finishing move in the history of professional wrestling but can get 50,000 fans jumping out of their seats all at once every single time the he does it. This is one of those moves where it's a cool visual but doesn't actually do anything and when you think about it doesn't make sense.
