While I'm sad they didn't include Zombie Elsa this is probably my favorite episode of the season regardless. While some would say they enjoyed more of the episode he finally kissed Emelia in this episode Subaru's talk-no jutsu was just absolutely legendary hands down. Then again I'm biased since I like Beatrice more than Emelia but that's beside the point as I'm sure other people loved the episode just as much.
I don't see why anyone still calls him a simp. The dude is a chad. He stopped being a simp back in the second half of season 1. Not to mention, the dude has a harem consisting of two half elves(one is the Witch of Envy), a blue haired oni maid, a village loli turned maid, a loli with a extreme case of tsundere, a green haired duchess who is a bad ass lie detector wielding a sword, and I'm certain more is gonna enter sometime down the line. I guess that Subaru is gonna get a harem ending, which is possible if the Lust If story is anything to go off of since in that story, it is shown that polygamy is legal in Lagunica. And before anyone brings it up, Tappei did say he doesn't like harem(or at least that is what people told me), but he gives me the vibe that he likes to troll the crap out of his fanbase. I don't know how it's gonna end. This is just merely a prediction. However this story is gonna end, we're in for a big ride.

@@Stryfe52 I haven't read myself but I know that the light novel is currently on arc 7, so there's plenty of material to adapt for the 3rd season. It's just a matter of planning for the company, so I'd say at least a year before the next season arrives.
I'm an anime only so I haven't seen both sides, but I'm kind of glad they didn't adapt this whole zombie Elsa thing. Her death in her fight with Garfiel was perfect and I think her reappearance would have taken away from the emotions in that moment. It would have made her death a little more underwhelming. It also would have drawn away from the build-up and tension created with the consecutive meetings that Subaru was trying so hard to force with Beatrice despite constantly getting sent away.
It's to say more about elsa honestly. She Died with love in her heart, but her true nature that became part of her body is truly that of a mindless killing monster. Reminds us to not pity her for she has done many crimes.
@@no3ironman11100 I think that was still done just fine by her flashback and death by Garfield in the anime. Like even her backstory is : "No shes a crazy psycho slasher."

Although I did like the idea of zombie Elsa when I read the web novel, I honestly prefer the version the anime has. I remember in the novel that when Subaru encountered Elsa, he thought Garfiel didn’t make it. I prefer the anime version over this mainly because this whole season is teaching Subaru to rely on others. Second guessing Garfiel would kinda take away that feeling. Just my opinion, though.
It was covered in the light novels too. Garfiel losing didnt cross his mind once till that moment. But it was only a very brief moment before he was like 'nah, garfiel wouldnt lose'
Also to consider is what would have been removed from the episode if zombie Elsa was adapted. The episodes are so packed with content that it would be impossible to add Zombie Elsa without removing any of the existing scenes.
@@adityaparik8451 you quite right, that fight could easy take like half of an episode with some proper detail, a sad cut but understandable if seen that way.
@@adityaparik8451 I think it is more of having no loose ends than not having the time to bring her in. Her cut, the missing information that Roswaal only did hire Elsa twice and the addendum at the end would hint to further content while the 2 seasons so far had clear endings that could serve as standalones. I believe that if/when there is a season 3 we will get a similar directors cut with some more infos and the last scene (but i doubt shadow else will be in there since it would need 1-2min of screentime).
Goat:Zero has officially ended, its been a long year since season 2 got announced, all I have to say is I'm glad I was alive to watch this masterpiece of a fantasy/iseki anime
You make it sound like it's officially ended, season 3 should be announced soon, unless we have to wait a few years. However, I'm sure with the insane hype we'll get an announcement in 6 months at most.
As cool as Zombie Elsa would have been. I think her death after her fight with Garfield was a better way to end her story(And somehow felt like a happy ending for her?). Zombie Elsa would have been unnecessary and in return we got more time dedicated to the more important Beatrice moment in the anime. With 30min episodes we are spoiled enough as it is lol

I miss Overlord, even if the adaptation+animation is crappy. (I am too lazy to read the LN, and if I did, I will not read it from the very beginning, and the anime skipped a lot of stuff.)

Yea I saw sad they cut zombie Elsa and her fight vs the lion demon beast. They also left out that subaru could always find Beatrice’s passage because he had a high affinity for dark magic which is what the spell was made of.

Honestly that episode has to be one of my top ones solely for beatrice. I just found the concept of the unwilling damsel in distress such a compelling concept and the way Subaru dealt with it was absolutely perfect

I think it makes more sense for Elsa to stay dead istead of coming back, because she was crushed by the warpig, so she would not have the strength to get out of there, i don't know if the novel is different but in the anime is clear that Elsa was completely crushed by the pig, not only the legs, so...yes, i think it was better this way
I think one of the main reasons for not adapting zombie Elsa was time concerns like the episode was so jam-packed I don't think they could have fitted it in without us losing a lot of the other amazing moments in previous episodes/this episode to make the time up. It is a shame but we got 30 mins each week and I imagine poor white fox were really struggling. Now we have to pray for season 3 like when and if it gets announced I'll be bouncing from wall to wall.

Re:zero is the best isekai anime, with great story telling and character development. (I would include attack on titan but I haven’t watched it and I haven’t read jobless reincarnation. Even tho jobless anime animation is pretty fucking good). I still don’t understand why re:zero doesn’t have a larger following
@@davidlong4025 Essentially, they want Subaru to be Touya, the MC of Isekai Smartphone, someone who has god knows how much power and strength, but has a boring personality. Hell, even Byleth from Fire Emblem Three Houses had even more of a personality than Touya does, and Byleth literally had barely any emotion because that was an actual plot point.
It would be great to see this 5 minute extended version of the zombie Elsa scene, as Subaru was trying to find Beatrice, in the blu ray release. Sounds so haunting and amazing.
@Hunterkage Joestar Subaru is pretty talented though, he would have won his 1v3 with the street thugs if it weren't for the weaponry difference, and was successful in fighting the regular mabeasts in season 1 when not swarmed. This was all with literally no real combat training. The real issue is that he hasn't had time to pick up that training unless he starts doing intentional "Ignore everything and train, then reset" with how rapidly events have progressed. Also there are a couple of other ways for power besides training and natural talent that have made some pretty powerful characters that immediately come to mind. Geuse was powerful because of absorbing a witch factor, and Julius from forming contracts with spirits.

I am kinda glad zombie elsa was adapted out her becoming a zombie ON TOP of adding that mabeast king felt like "unnecessary edgy overkill" and a kinda cheap way to put subaru into a "rematch position" where, now that the enemy is massively weakened by everything and everyone else, he can beat them "solo" it kinda distracts from the already dramatic situation of subaru trying to find beatrice
Idk something Echidna said in this episode to Beatrice to wait for the one who is gonna inherit the knowladge of the library not someone who love's her

While zombie Elsa fighting the Guiltylowe sounds cool, I really do prefer how the anime left her dead with the end of her battle with Garfiel. That was such a satisfying moment between the music and her last expression, that I wouldn't have wanted to see her battered form literally dragging out her end.
It's really creepy that Elsa crawling corps was still alive stated in the novel I imagined what it look like and then I went to sleep I got a nightmare I really got scared where I think Elsa's corps in detailed gore while Attacking Subaru

I dont know if there is only one word in Japanese for Zombies,Mummies,Vampires,and Cursts(What Elsa is) but I guess they chose "Vampire" for Gaically cursed being rfield's accusation in English cause its closer o what she is,a magically cursed being(Cursed Doll) That was Elsa regenerating tough she wasn't fully reformed yet with that Miasma a mixture of her lifeforce and the curse driving her still incomplete body that was having troupe regenerating cause Garfield pushed her to her limit Men, Elsa hanging around in a fire,the one thing that can kill her, seemed out of place honestlg
TBH the zombie Elsa doesn't add much to the chapter, I found it just bizarre and unnecessary, when I read it, and it felt just like when bettlegeues ran after Subaru and Otto in season 1 all over again. I'm glad they took away that scene to be more focused on Beako.
Zombie Elsa sounds cool, shame she got killed, she so damn hot and big booba, but she is unhinged and psychotic, if there was a way to turn Elsa good, then maybe but her faith was brutal, but good conclusion, wished she survived somehow but somehow not the same as what we seen, maybe forgot what happened and only memory she has was fighting Garf on a Monday as well as Subaru, but nothing else, who knows tbh Either way, this season was awesome and cannot wait for season 3, so yeah
