Do you know what subdivision means in drumming and music? That's how we come up with all of the different rhythms in music. Some rhythms are related and can be easily combined. I'll show you how to practice two unrelated rhythms to improve your accuracy and timing with your subdivisions. In this lesson we will focus on 1/8th notes and triplets. I'll show you how to practice accurately switching in and out of these rhythms within a groove pattern and in some fun drum fills!
📢 Do you have any special ways that you like to work on subdivision?

Or what would you suggest your best video to learn how to count it all this stuff from scratch! Thanks 😊

Hi Michael, Here's my reply from your other comment as it applies here as well: Thanks for the comment! It is definitely more beneficial to "internalize" the counting and how it matches the 1/8th notes rhythm. If I had put counted numbers on the screen, the viewers would: a) look at the numbers and not the notation and b) not be challenged to keep the timing themselves. That being said, I want you to experience success! If counting along with the beats and fills is difficult for you, I have a worthy solution for you. Visit simpledrummer.com/lessons-library The first few lessons are free and break down exactly the issues you are experiencing. There are also play-alongs with notation helpers that point to the notation to help you connect your counting with what you see. You would benefit tremendously from these lessons (even if you already know how to play the beats). Thanks for the compliment and the comment!

Can you maybe put what’s your counting with your mouth on those subdivisions at the bottom of the screen, because I’m lost trying to count!! ??? I think that would help me out so much 😊 thanks 🙏
