About time Space simmers get a controller that isn't just a modified atmospheric stick.

Nice, it seems well thought out and made i like the way most of the controls are indexed fingered just watching the video the control looks smooth and with the removable and adjustable arm rest its going to be very comfortable well done guys I think you've nailed it congrats.

Very nice! I'm glad you guys showed the new prototype, I love the crazy amount of buttons and ability to mode switch quickly. Seems like it could completely replace a HOTAS in any game that features 6 degrees of freedom. I think that a joystick like this is sorely needed today, and anyone who enjoys games like elite dangerous are going to flock to this stick instead of using a traditional setup. Good luck guys, I'm rooting for you!

Can't wait for this! Seriously, if I can do anything to help this along please say so. I'd be happy to help with distribution in Europe or anything else.

This looks like an amazing product. I'm looking forward to see what level of finish you are able to put forward for the kickstarter; hopefully it will be polished enough that I won't think twice. You can tell you guys have thought it out very well. I would recommend giving it some mounting holes spread for a VESA mount too. There are a fair few Simmers that use VESA pole mounts to clamp to their chair arms, including myself, and it makes for fantastically comfortable flight. Good luck!

This could be my answer!!! Why the FSD-drive do I first hear about this stick now?? I got a disabled left hand, and are an engaged Elite Dangerous player. I have tried all available joystick/H.O.T.A.S out there, and have always been let down by not enough customizable buttons, and the inability to control enough axis through analog, on only the joystick. So I've never felt I could be as competitive on the same level as others, due to material limitations. You my fine sirs have just got yourself a backer! Most people will probably buy this because they think it would be cool. But for me, it could be a necessity... This will be a godsend for people with disabilities, who love space/flight sims. Thank you!

Might be fun to use in Elite: Dangerous. Would love to see a force-based navigation joystick though for Flight Assist Off (dealing mentally with forces while flying at high speeds in space in real time is hard)

This looks awesome! My biggest concern is wear. I haven't had a stick last more than a year so far; the yaw always goes. It seems like the flexible springs could have more longevity, not to mention they just seem overall more accurate and intuitive with the 6DOF setup.

I'm interested in this, but more for the 4 wire control than the joystick itself. I've been looking for a 6dof stick for awhile. I've considered trying to find a way to do this with a Stewart platform, considered modifying a 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse since I can't find anything on the inner mechanism of their device, or just going straight to a 6dof IMU board or using a motion tracked VR controller.

The mount looks like exactly what I need for my current desk setup. I just can't find any type of solution and I'm not very good with DIY solutions. The best I've got is switching out my legs with a sit/stand desk kit but that is at least $400. The joystick feels like it'd take some getting used to but would offer a good advantage once you did. I just want a damn flight stick, HOTAS, or dual stick solution that I can use without having to significantly change my posture or setup. Lol.

When moving continously like you obviously do with this stick, will operating the thumb buttons hamper your movement at all? Or can you easily have sufficient movement control in your grip without the support of your thumb? Excellent idea either way, I'm stoked to follow how this project will evolve!

It's really cool but I feel like that's too many axis to try and control with one hand and that I'd either end up causing axis crosstalk or have a deadzone that doesn't register some movements when i want it to. Definitely something I'd have to try before paying $ for. However if i actually NEEDED that many axis of control in 1 hand then this would be a no brainer.

So with VR controllers today that already have 6DOF and then some, have you all considered making a program that uses that technology as a basis for making a controller work like a regular joystick only one that might utilize the movements of a VR motion controller as the "physical unit". Instead of re-inventing the wheel, why not use the one people already have available to them? Software is a lot easier to make and distribute and I for one would love to be able to use my controller for games that don't support motion controllers. When I play elite in VR I can't see my HOTAS controller buttons, but having two motion controllers with multiple buttons would be good. If one acts on the throttle control while the other has the 6DOF (or even both could use motions in all directions) maybe it would be easier to distribute. Software doesn't have shipping costs, just hosting.

With Vulcan becoming more prevalent: What OS will this be getting full 1st party drivers/software for? I'm specifically eying Linux in my case as even my current 3d mouse has 1st party drivers available for linux/macos aswell. (And both games used in the showcase either already do hage or are announced to have full linux compatability/Windows Independence...)

A true "6DoF" joystick is just a joystick and throttle but ON the joystick underneath so you can move it back and forth while controlling your vessel.

I'm running Overload, as seen in the video, with two T.16000M, also seen in the video, and I have to say I feel like I'm missing what your 6DoF stick provides 😅 I don't really like the twist as it becomes one axis too many for my brain, so I'm curious how a completely liberated joystick would feel to use. I would probably use it as a translational input only, meaning movement, not rotation. That's what my head says anyway 🙂

for space flight, this could actually be better than dual sticks or HOTAS + Pedals. good pedals are expensive... i subscribed on the website, waiting for the kickstarter
@DustinBlaise
@DustinBlaise 5 лет назад
I agree and looking forward to the Kickstarter. Having done the Dual Sticks in Star Citizen, It is a fun setup but operating the Throttle at the same time becomes tricky. And so went with a HOTAS Setup with the Thrustmaster Throttle that has a stick on the Index Finger and built in rudder pedals. used the Rudder Pedals to strafe forward and backward and the index stick is for the up, down, left and right movements. Made the Throttle Control easier but the Strafing, which can be vital in combat and manual landing, becomes tricky because the stick is sensitive. So having this type of Stick will make the control of all the axis and Strafing maneuvers feel extremely natural. I personally feel that if there are such space ships in the future, they would have a HOTAS with a Stick like this one. in other words.... SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!! XD

Damn son. I'm a little worried how it'll interact with a throttle though. In elite I use throttle for most things including combat and general travelling, but for finer maneuvers, like landing, I use a different input (On my X56 the thumb stick on the joystick) I can imagine that in high intensity situations you'll probably be pulling and pushing that thing affecting throttle, alternatively turning it off on the stick but then losing that fine touch when you otherwise need it. Hmmm there will probably be solutions to this though.

Been keeping half an eye it for a while and I am really liking where it is heading, I will probably still be a crashtastic pilot with it, but I am quite keen to get my hands on it. Currently I am using an Saitek X-65F and I really cannot go back to normal type joysticks since using that, the force sensing is just a far nicer experience. What I do wonder though is how well can we put this to rest, in longer flights Ideally I like to keep my hands on the controls just in case, but this tends to fatiguing if you have to constantly keep your arm floating in space.
