so sublime went to costa rica so brad could dry out from heroin, they didnt bring instruments, they borrowed these and played a quick set,this is just a thought but i think brad picked leaving babylon by bad brains as a kind of a metaphor for leaving cali and going to costa rica to get away from the city and its temptations, i love this version sooo much

When I was 16 I was haging out in San Jose with some really cool locals a couple months after Brad died. When they asked me who may favorite band was, I told them Sublime, thinking they never heard of them. The guy said, 'yeah we hung out with them, they come here a lot we drank and smoked out with them." I always thought he was bullshitting, but after seeing this today, he probably wasnt lying. Those ticos probably did chill with Sublime. Crazy stuff.

Comments like these is what makes me wonder what raised you. Music is not a competition. Soul can never be measured by skill. Sublime will remain as one of the most soulful bands in our history. Eric Wilson has been an inspiration to many bassists after his time. Bud Gaugh does excellent as a drummer, his beats are very specific. And Bradley, Well everyone knows how much soul that man had. He might have been a junkie and depressed but his music is wonderful, and will remain so for long.

saw eric when him and ras 1 was flying around in the ship of fantasy. eric has some of the best bass lines ever. hes a real cool laid back dude too.

I love this song and Brads voice which will never rise again . There is soo much beauty in this song and the way he carries his voice ( nothing theatrical ) just soulful to the fullest. That's why Sublime is on my top 5 bands of all time.

My B-Day is on May 25th. I was 29 when we lost Brad. I remember that day. I was working at IBM and they kept playing sublime on the radio. I was stoked thinking this is so cool on my b-day! When I heard the DJ breaking the bad news, I felt like I got kicked in the stomach. That same year my father, grandmother and my dog Sasha would pass away, dealing me my first experience of death with a triple whammy. (Well quadruple including Bradly) Today it's 2:50 am, I'm in my VanCave in a Dennys parking lot, using their WiFi to play along to some sublime backing tracks on guitar through a Fly 3 amp. At least the amp sounds pretty good.
