No. U-2501 is better. Its torps all reload at once, while Balao reloads 2 at a time, its pings last over 20 seconds while American sonar pings last much less, and the Germans have the best sub surveillance and hydrophone, not to mention a far more useful consumable (almost half a minute of extra battery time). This on top of their faster pong velocity. Not to mention longer ranged, better homing torpedoes, and the best underwater speed, Balao is outmatched. U-2501 is best, Gato is second, then Thrasher is worst.
