A rough unedited comparison of different submariner homages by Chinese brands. These are all available to purchase on AliExpress. All of these are HOMAGE watches and NOT Rolexes or counterfeit Rolexes. Thank you.
Did you need a specific spring bar set for the curved end rubber strap to fit the cronos or the fitment is the exact same as any bracelet made for a 40mm submariner? I’m considering a Crafter Blue rubber strap and could not find any info online
Im waiting on my nh35 no date cronos to arrive any day now. Great vid, and never heard of Sugess until now. **Update** 8/25 The NH35 version of the updated L6015 is amazing. Quality, look, feel etc it has it all.
Great and helpful review Ian, even two years later! I’m leaning toward a Sugess Kermit, but have heard mixed reviews on them, all of these brands actually! But we’re taking sub $200 watches. I would jump on a Watchdives without hesitation if they offered a Kermit variant. I own three of them, Blue Sub, Explorer II (red GMT hand), and a Pepsi on a Jubilee ( even though I ordered the oyster). They all run within COSC specs and have sapphire, Ceramic, etc. Seiko has the brand heritage, but you are getting way more watch for your money with these micro brands! It’s real easy to build up quite an affordable collection with great quality pieces.
I had big trouble with knock off glidelock clasps. The ones I had wore out fast. They used a slightly different method of "snapping" in place than rolex, and the ko's would fail pretty quickly.
Can you compare the endlinks on the Sugess and the Cronos. Are they identical? I like the Cronos but the end links seem a little flatter and elongated. Is there a bigger contrast in size between the middle and outter portions on the Sugess?
very nice collection of homage watches and not only are they beautiful, they are affordable and won't cost you an arm & leg. Every brand of watch makers copy to some degree other watches- so if you like a style, you don't have to sell your body to get a very expensive one and you can buy a good quality homage that looks like an expensive one.
Thanks for this video, it answered a lot of questions I have had. Will you be acquiring a Seestern as well? I assume they are mostly identical to the Suggess.
Finally, a great and detailed comparison with cronos, sm and sugess. I have sm sn017, but I'm eyeing for the sugess Starbucks homage but I'm skeptical to pull the trigger on sugess, it's been sitting on my cart for quite a while now. I also have ironwatch sub homage. Do you think sugess is better than sm? Thanks
I do like sugess better but the lume is better on SM for sure. I like sugess better because it’s much more comfortable, has the glidelock clasp, and doesn’t have sharp edges like the SM
@@ianellwood1641 Hey Ian. I'm contemplating to purchase sugess full green hulk sub over San Martin's. I do see & understand that the green color is way vibrant & appealing ( like in Rolex) in Sugees. I just wanna know what about the build quality, touch, look and feel of sugess compared to SM ? ( Coz SM is widely known for their build quality that's why) and If in terms of build quality, precision, attention to detail & Originality SM is a 9/10 how high would u rate Sugess? Thank you Ian.
Is the PT5000 an Eta Clone? Does it have 28.800 bph? I cant see the NH35 enymore because its in nearly all watches😂. I love how the second hand moving with 28.800 bph. Thx
Very helpful video! I am still trying to decide between the blue San Martin SN017 or the Cronos Blue in your video. How "bright" is the blue on the Cronos in normal lighting? I always get watches that look good online, but look dull in person. Thanks for any help.
I was planning on going the Invicta route, but after doing a lot of research I purchased a Steinhart Ocean One ceramic 39 yesterday, as they always came out on top as the best submariner homage watch. Should arrive in a few days. Really looking forward to wearing it!
@@Dondaddyh Received it this week, gotta say, it's got a good weight to it and very nice quality feel. But now I feel that maybe I should've gone for the 42 :-D .Well, I'll defo get another one this year.
@@NessMeister42 is a lot bigger, it’s definitely too big for my 17cm wrist. But if you have a bigger wrist- I’m sure it would be good . All of mine are 39s👍🏽
Important thing PT5000 is a highbeat 2800vph NH35 is 21600 vph. The higher the vph the smoother the seconds hand sweep and better time keeping too. The Cronos and Sugess are standard 28000vph copies of the swiss 2824-2 by ETA. Thats why they cost more because the higher beat is more of a accurate luxury.
I like the NH35 because it’s cheaper to replace and more reliable in my experience. The Sugess I have is an NH35, the green San Martin has an NH35 as well. All others in the video use the PT5000
I have a few watches with the seiko movement and a few with the pt5000. I get more seiko movements running closer to plus or minus 3-5 seconds a day than any pt5000 now I do get the odd seiko movement running at plus or minus 30 second a day and I hate that. The pt5000 seems to be more movements around plus or minus 10-12 second’s a day and none any worse than that
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
The sugess with eta 2824 replica movement is the way to go with 28,000bph your much closer to a Rolex but not that it matters it is just a much better and smoother movement
They seem to be making great watches, but Sugess really need to work on their branding and company name. Not only does "Sugess" look and sound weird but then they call this one ... the "Seaman"? The jokes practically write themselves. Plus the font they use looks out of place on all of their watches. And they seem to throw too many words on there - like... is it the Semen..err.. Seaman or is it the "Ocean Star"? Kinda reminds me of a mid 1990s fake Rolex Sub a buddy brought me back from Thailand that claimed to be both a "Submariner" and an "Explorer" on the dial.. :D
If you replace the bezel of the black San Martin with a milsub bezel insert and a two tone black and white nato strap, congrats you've got a sean connery james bond milsub.
The Batman rendition is quite unique when compared to others that follow suit. Steinhardt in my opinion is looking to step up there game although they still delve deeply in homages amongst their other offerings.
You might want to check out the Oceaneva Deep Marine Explorer. I have the Kermit version and it uses a Selitta SW200-1 movement, a 28,800 clone of the ETA. Hard to find a better movement and its not expensive to replace. Other than the brand information on the face and the removal of a date magnifier, the face and hands are identical to a Submariner and it is extremely well finished. It's rated and tested for 1000 meters of WR and the case is fully brushed so fingerprints and scratches are not really an issue. It's in reality better than a Submariner, except for the factory clasp, so I switched it to a Barton strap, the best synthetic rubber strap on the market. And unlike the Submariner, if it gets stolen, a huge Submariner problem,, your only out a $1,000 dollars!
