I fell asleep last night to your channel doing recaps of all the SS Lawman episodes. I will NEVER make that mistake again. I dreamt of creepy Seagal most of the night. Not one of my best nights.
When I was a kid I thought Steven was such a badass cuz my stepdad was a fan and we used to watch his movies and talk about how easy he could break your hand with his crazy moves. Lol When I found out he was just a huge piece of poop and a fraudler it was a huge let down! But now I get so much entertainment watching all this new cringe content about him. Thanks for making these videos man. I’ve been loving all the Seagal movie reviews. 💪🤪
I feel that was the path for alot of us. He started cool, and then we all slowly learned how terrible of a person he is. But his movies are amazing to make fun of lol. So glad you like the channel
I'm an old man. I started off watching Seagal in theaters from the very start. I loved the first few - probably until Under Seige, but after that, I slowly started wondering, until I saw Fire Down Below and just gave it. I do love these reviews tho.
@@samholdsworth420 Segall's Japanese exwife who owns the dojo now (it used to belong to her dad) said that the only reason stephen became black belt in Aikido was because the examiner fell alseep through stephen's exam and passed him out of shame, instead of confessing to napping through part of it.
After bingeing on this series I've noticed a trend in these movies where Steven gets a special "shadow" lighting across his face in tons of scenes. I presume it's to make him look badass, while at the same time hiding his age and weight. But honestly all it looks like is a fat tiger hiding in the shadows eyeing your Subway sandwich.
Here's a fun story: Vinnie Jones was once drinking in my local pub and my mate beat him in an arm wrestle, Vinnie then leapt up onto the table and bought a round of drinks for everyone in the room
Even though i can't watch these videos because all of his movies are shot with only 1 light, so nobody can see it's not him fighting , i love them!!! I bust out laughing so much, your humor is great!!! I've been binging on you videos for a while now and so love them!!!
Trivia fact: the knife fight had seagal fighting with actor gary daniels (great martial artist and actor, "fist of the north star live action" and "bloodmoon") that scene supossed to be a huge deal martial art fight in the movie between their characters but seagal scrapped it and make it a quick knife fight, later seagal called daniels to apologize for not doing the fight for the movie as it supossed to be
Atleast Seagal's 90s and early 2000 stuff got actual actors in some of the roles and he actually moves in the fight scenes, sorta. :P So submerged had Vinnie Jones and Mr Big Eyes AKA William Hope, Gorman in Aliens. :D
I got to say this may be my favorite Seagal movie review of yours yet. Keep up the good work there are still several good Seagal movies after this don't let the haters fool you! Wait until you get to 2008's *Pistol Whipped*.
Thank you so much! That is great to hear because all I want to do is improve my channels quality and keep you all entertained. So this means alot! Haha the haters are plentiful but I enjoy all these movies. Just watched Today You Die. Which was a riot. I haven't seen Pistol Whipped yet but can't wait.
Some fun facts: The guy in 0:09 is the Bulgarian actor Nikolai Sotirov. I guess he's speaking Bulgarian, not German. The US embassy in Montevideo from inside - 1:19 is actually The Sofia court house in Sofia, Bulgaria. Also the Opera house in 9:35 is in fact Bulgarian national theatre.
@@RedEyeReviews Yeah, it's cheaper and there is a good big studio called Nu Boyana film. A lot of mainly B movies are being shot here like "The Expendables" 2 and 3 and especially my favourite remake "Conan the barbarian" (2011) which here is referred as Conan the Bulgarian :)
I love watching the voice dubs. So funny! Do you remember middle school, when the teacher would call on a student to read but the student's voice was too quiet for everyone to hear. So the teacher will ask the student to speak up and the student will throw his/her monotoned voice a little further for the first three words and then go back to the original volume. Steven Seagal was that student. I'm convinced that some people just don't have the ability to speak up or change the dynamics of their voice. If this kinda of voice was tough to deal with back then, I'm sure Hollywood hates it even more. In the film, when that dubbed voice shouts at a person across the room while he's in the submarine, it sounded too clear and articulate for Steven (Not trying to be mean), because the dude doesn't open up his mouth to talk. I'm near deaf, so I'm not a fan of that. Or people.
NOOOOOOO WAAAAYYY LOL ok the " hot girl " he call's in the start when you mentioned his team was to white , it took me a minute , but that girl plays friggn Carla in the longest running British & here in Canada soap opera called " Coranation Street " people here and in the UK are religously devoted to it , you either watch it cuz your devoted or to laugh your ass off at the crazy plot lines, they play it every day at 7pm and then repeat all 7 episodes in a row on sunday cuz thats how crazy people are about it , the Brits either love it or hate it
I'm binging all your Seagal episodes and dude i swear to god, sometimes you sound just like Owen Wilson. Not a knock on either of you, just noticing it. 'm loving your work
If Vinnie Jones replaced Seagal as the lead in this film then it would get at least a 10% boost on Rotten Tomatoes, guaranteed. Jones has one accent and can speak at an audible volume. Although if they did that then we wouldn't have that scene where Seagal tries to cover his face with a newspaper to look inconspicuous...as a very large white guy with a pony tail wearing a full-length leather jacket on a hot day.
Been watching your Seagal stuff every night for like a week now. And just realized I hadn't subscribed so. I did. Hope you keep making these. Love them
Yo Seagal kicking that man 100 fucking yards at the end had me in stitches dude. I literally had tears in my eyes laughing at that shit. I was hoping you would use it one more time at the end. Good review, I've been going thru ur Seagal-A-Thon 👍
You want me to tell you some stuff in the comments? Uh... Okay... Umm.. I DID get a haircut recently, and I went on vacation to a Caribbean resort, and I've been binging your videos while mindlessly grinding Destiny 2.
Have learned to love Submerged not really in spite of the weirdness and dubbing but because of them. Awesome plane effects in the opening scene. Incredible miniatures when the dam blows. Fantastic blood squib cables very visible when the “I pay your wages” guy gets shot. Seagal’s double turning to face camera in plain view during tank shootout. Clockwork Orange eye clips. Don’t blame him for not wanting sea creatures, that would have been even worse. Cant wait for Today You Die ...of boredom.
@@RedEyeReviews this movie was like the avengers except instead of samuel l jackson we have Steven seagal leading a group of people to take down an evil guy Chris kody is nick fury he even sounds like him too 😄😄😄😄😄😄 and the chick in this movie reminds me of black widow ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qc034IOpTGc.html chick this out
What the hell is with the crew in this movie. Vinnie Jones, obviously too good for it, probably out to make some money to pay for a boat or something. Then you've got Dude with a hat, doctor phil and I don't know about the other three. Then he picks up a chick, ohp, Classic Seagal. I love the voice dubbing they add in over seagal given how much he whisper and crap, its just so, jarring.
@@RedEyeReviews The team he played for in the 1990s, Wimbledon, was known as The Crazy Gang due to being notoriously violent, even for a 90s EPL team back in the day. And my God, Vinnie Jones lived up to his tough guy persona
I’ve been binging on you seal movies to find the one where he says “ quickly “ I die laughing when you dubbed that one but forgot to save it so anyone know the name of that one? My 8year old foster son loves it too we’re going around and waiting to be able to use that line like “ hey Josh get dressed for school- QUICKLY !” Love it- lol
I didn't mind Anthony Hickox attempting to spread out and do action films having done horror (Waxwork, a Hellraiser film, a Warlock film and Full Eclipse, which is a horror/action hybrid) but Submerged was a huge letdown. I do think a big factor in this was that like Bruce Malmuth on Hard To Kill, Hickox and Seagal were not on the same page. Other commenters already mention the supporting cast being wasted. But as others have pointed out, Gary Daniels fight was more uneventful,
I Like Anthony Hickox as a Director But even he Couldn’t save Submerged from being a Farce But Really it’s Steven Seagal’s Fault for being Difficult to work with
Pancake calzone!! Dude u just invented the most amazing sounding dessert ever.....pancake, fill it with fruit maybe some pb&j, maple syrup, told it in half and bake it!!!??😂😍
This director wrote and directed a lot of cult films such as wax work 1&2 and Sundown: the vampire in retreat. It's hey Shane because I bought this the minute it came out on DVD just to see the fight between Gary Daniels versus Steven seagal. What happened was Steven we wrote the whole scene so he could beat Gary in seconds. The director had apologized to Gary on that day of shooting and said working what seems to go was the worst thing he ever did. The sad part is Gary should have been the main star and Bruce Campbell should have been his co-star who who work with the director and wax work 2 and Showdown!
I like your intro and extro music, and I miss the bouncing popcorn, which that and your commentary is the best part of these Seagull reviews. BTW, in sea-going services there are Seaman and Seagals.
But Anthony Hickox did Good Job with some of the Hellraiser Sequels Though Including Hellraiser Bloodline, Hellseeker, Hell On Earth, Deader, And Hellworld
I was in the team who build the submarine. What a waste of a really good set. And the helicopter is not a real, it was build especially for this movie. Fiber glass on metal frame. Another fun fact mentioning The Expendables, all parts of the Expendables was shot in the same studios...using the same locations and most of the props.
They're not out yet, but I can't wait to watch; No Time To Sleep Sworn Of Vengeance My Barber Must Be Saved No Ordinary Leather Jacket I Will Live Again Tomorrow
In his reality show “Steven seagal lawman” he is an actual cop in New Orleans I think he sweats a lot and he has a thick accent that changes depending on who he’s talking to…..worth a watch for any connoisseur
There's a couple of pretty well known British soap actors from the 00's in this film. It's always weird seeing that. Also, Dr. Chapel at 9:08 ? She's a respected British actor. I'm actually surprised she ended up in a Seagal movie.
Aikido aces 👍😂 I haven't seen this one but I will watch it soon. What I find funny is you've done close to 20 Seagal movies and that's not even half of his movies lol
@@RedEyeReviews yeah you're in the mid 00s I think. One year he did like 7 or 8 movies. I made the comment because I was thinking he's cranking these videos out he's going to run out of Seagal soon but nah you have plenty of Seagal material to last you a while. Plus I know people have mentioned Van Damme, my question is are you going to get to Lundgren he has just as many as Seagal. If so I recommend Men of War. Keep up the great work friend 👍
@@EAScotti I'm cranking these out but I also plan on doing his TV shows lol. So we will be with the Golden boy for awhile. And after that we have Van Damme for sure. I didn't even realize Lundgren had that many movies?! But he has 94 acting credits?!?! That's amazing haha
@@RedEyeReviews sounds like you're going to get to"Steven Seagal: Lawman" that show my friend is going to be a doozy lol wow I guess that just as many remark was a huge understatement lol
Ok first Delta Force would not be wearing Chocolate Chip Desert Camouflage in that area or at all and there is a Colonel Insignia on his helmet I seriously doubt that a Colonel would be on a mission like that.
0:20 That's not a regulation haircut! 0:48 / 2:35 / 14:04 Extract those stocks, greenhorns! 4:08 / 6:11 / 12:57 Fastens his top button like a dweeb-narc. 5:43 It's because they're not making use of stocks or sights. 10:26 '90s gangsta-style sideways "technique," and with the thumb on the slide, no less. 11:05 Arnie used that same move in 'Commando'.
I think the problem with this movie is that Seagal had free reign on it so he decided at the end he didn't like the movie and went back to change a lot of it even putting scenes out of sequence. So you got this incoherent mess. Originally the movie was about being in a sub, but Seagal hated it so they made the original plot of the brain wash thing but then Seagal decided at editing that he didn't like that too and introduced aliens and he changed a couple of scenes and voiced over some dialog but then this weird mess happened.
Very good video! I don't know if you knew, but the film was highly criticized at the time for presenting Uruguay as very far from reality. To be exact, nothing. I call it fanciful and unrealistic about the reality of that country. So much so that the government of Uruguay totally disagreed with what was presented in the film. You can search for more information in Spanish about what was done with more details. Greetings.
0:07 Nah, man, if you want to be truly original, you should speak Finnish. What's that, you say? Exactly. Plus, it's even harder than German to learn, arguably, and German is hella hard. 3:54 "Can you speak up, please? We're having a hard time hearing you in the front." Epic quote by RedEye, circa 2021 4:31 Is that spray-on tan or did he use too much glue on the toupet? 11:37 Dude, what have you done to me? Now _I'm_ sitting here trying to think of something clever to say...and failing miserably! 😳😮😵
It is bizarre they did that CGI chopper that is on par with video games of the era, it should not be that much more expensive to get a couple establishing shots with a real one just flying around, and it seems like they could have filmed that basically anywhere.
I don’t know if I would say I liked this movie, but I would recommend it for people to watch. This really should have been an over the top B-movie comedy but the problem is Seagal is incapable of humor. Schwarzenegger, even in his serious action movies, never took himself seriously & was in on the joke, that’s why he was able to make successful comedies. This is an interesting movie but it could have been more fun if Seagal cared about his performance & lightened up.
Me and my wife actually watched this in a *theater* and neither of us could understand what was happening. Definitely not helped by Steven's line delivery.
@@RedEyeReviews Well, the theater was mostly empty so not much whispering. It is fascinating that as bad as this movie is, he's been in so many worse ones. I mean, at least this had Vinnie Jones and *a* budget and Steven didn't try an accent.
@@larshansson1953 ah bummer. But very true. It's so weird because every so often you get these glimpses of real acting and then the next scene is mumbling again. But something deep inside him knows how to act lol.
