This is Tyler Logan, and he's a blue belt in BJJ. Before these matches I was actually more excited about the gi portion of this day than the no gi. That changed after these matches. BJJ is tough as crap, and I just don't really have the time to devote to learning it. By now it has really evolved into a completely different sport than judo. So, anyway, I want to be the best judoka I can possibly be, so I think going forward, if I do more BJJ stuff, it'll all be no gi. Anyway, I won this match and advanced to the finals.
THINGS I DID WELL:
WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT??? Dude jumped up into my lap. I didn't panic, followed him to ground and almost passed. He was trying to triangle or bar, and I just kept smashing forward and down, because I think (?) that's safe.
When I finally passed his guard and got on top, I did a good job taking my time, working into my position, and switching off between attacking his arm, and applying my choke
THINGS I NEED TO IMPROVE:
If I were going to stick with this sport, I could generate a list of about 1000 things. Since I'm not, in this match I'm not going to worry about it.
