if you havent already, i would recommend playing the red plague mod for the first game. It's set at the same time, but the survivors of the aurora are still alive, and they and yourself are all trying to survive a mutated version of the Kharaa.

now all they need to add is some guns, BBQ sauce, and an AC130 Airship, and then we have AMERICAAAA

A game can live way more its expected time if it has mod, the game has both a good company and community that can make incredible thing. I imagine in the future maybe a ball shaped ufo veicle that can work both outside and inside water and maybe a jatpack too for building up outside of water easier. The creature mods adds more to the exploration aspect, even I find the dunes barren a bit and put some crabsnakes or bonesharks. I also think the way you can plant plants underwater outside of your base could be improved to make more beautiful bases.

Iunno maybe I'm just some sorta Subnautica boomer (Been playing since like, Pre-Prawn suit, Pre-Sea Emperor), but some of these mods I look at and I just go "...Why-?" Don't get me wrong, De-Extinction is fantastic, I love new fauna, I love new challenges and I love new lore, but then you show me 'private jet in Subnautica' And suddenly I'm like "okay it's funny but why, what's the point here?"...I mean I know WHY it exists cuz it's from Red Plague which in itself is a fever dream of a mod (In a good way! I CANNOT wait for it to see official release to see you cover it!) and it makes sense in context, but the standalone mod I just struggle to think of a use case, heheh. At least the gliding Seamoth is like "You can quickly fly out of the water and use the surface to look for landmarks" if you don't know the map well enough! ...Gosh, listen to me babble, it's a mod, who cares how practical it is!? Petition to make the Aurora pilotable, sky's the limit, who's with me?! >:D

Missed opportunity to go to the lava zone in the jet

As a fan of Subnautica AND Flight simulator both. The private jet is just perfect. Only thing needed is a detailed cockpit and an additional proper runway that you can build in the habitat builder.

You should build two giant multipurpose room towers and fly the plane into them :)

I think they should make a custom levithan to go against the Garantuan and it is super rare, only on the very very edge of the void. Hearing its roar would be spine chilling. Plus if it was added it would encourage people to go father into this black abyss. Having my base in the void on a daily basis this would be a cool thing to have.

did the de extinction mod for the first game ever get updated to work with the new modding system/post 2.0?

So, I don’t have discord, but could you get this idea on the server for subnautica 2? Here it is: Creature Idea: The Rock Centipede An outcrop has a 10% Chance to drop a rock centipede, a rock centipede head will stick out of the outcrop as a warning. Once you break the outcrop, a rock centipede with a rock head and 5 rock parts (every rock part has a leg on the left and on the right) Will come out, it crawls away from you and you can take it and cut it with a knife, which drops double the resources the outcrop would have dropped. They only spawn under 100 meter depth, as new players don’t get a knife that fast. And say at the start that a fan recommended this. And I also got some depth modules for the seamstress level 3 and for the cyclops level 1, and for the cyclops the sonar upgrade. I still have to build the cyclops depth module.

Imagine getting chased by a reaper in your plane and you lift off in the air and a couple of seconds later you notice the reaper decided to type the fly command and is following you in the air. Now if that ain't better than Microsoft flight simulator then I don't know what is.
