I'm used to it now. It's like a jump scare but a leviathan DESTROYING What you built. When I first saw that I jumped out my skin and almost had a heart attack.

@@henreebee6561 When gregbrodudeman ("man with a fear of the ocean plays Subnautica" was out with his cyclops in the mountains for the first time... at night... a reaper came at him like that, full speed, next to no warning, in the pitch black. Absolutely terrifying.

He needed a creature decoy, to understand what noise + that radar to his right means, use SLOW speed, and use silent running. He would've slipped through with ease had he done all of this. Creature decoy and the shield generator are a must if you're going to be this ballsy. With how much most people load their Cyclopses with, they generally chose to do the safer approach mentioned above.

Yeah that was cool as f. Developers really did an amazing job, reaper really rips appart everything.

If you go without a vehicle and you're above the waterline, the reaper can jump out of the water and kill you mid-air.

When I first started the game, I went near the aurora and a reaper leviathan literally jumped out of the water to get me, it didn’t, buts I had no fucking idea it was that powerful

*detecting multiply Leviathan class forms in you're region, are you sure what ever your are doing is worth it?*

Its made even more scary when you have a prawn in there and forgot to bring it out of the cyclops before the cyclops explodes

Yes but in some biomes after they Chase the decoy the leviatan is comeing back and is ataking You If You are not in sillent running ,because the biom is big (acid biom) for exemple .

yeah, don't be a me from 2 years ago. always remember silent running is your best friend.

1) You now have something big to lose 2) You have a giant target on your back, the cyclops is slow and exposed, at least on foot you might have an easier time hiding. 3) The quietness of the cyclops when inside is kind of scary. You aren't one with the ocean anymore, you're dry inside and all you hear is the creak of titanium, and the sounds of the ship.

It's why when I got my Cyclops I figured out exactly where reapers spawned, and played it very carefully. Your cyclops being destroyed is a massive loss and set back

This is why ill never go into reaper territory with my cyclops (the main reason im scared of my cyclops getting destroyed is because ill lose all my cyclops upgrades well i acttualy could just grab them before its gets destroyed and its not that hard for me to build another cyclops it just takes a long time because i have to get stalker teeth)

@@inadaly5976 Actually, you can grab the upgrades AFTER it gets destroyed as well, the wreck remains on the map and any items you put inside should survive the explosion (aside from any docked vehicle). Good luck salvaging it when surrounded by reapers, though.

The AI voice is right: "You are the best captain on this planet." 😉 Leviathans are generally a manageable threat… worst case scenario is that you have to turn everything off and either wait for it to leave or face it with the stasis rifle. But this can usually be avoided as well. My own biggest mistake lately has been turning silent running off too soon. They can generally hear you at normal speed even if they aren't on the threat scanner ATM… EDIT: Also reapers can generally be outrunned at flank speed… sea dragons, that's a different story. And it's a bad idea to go into reaper territory at night without a sonar.

The surprising thing is it’s somewhat easier to fend of the leviathan in the sea moth

@@alexanderholzer7392 I've killed most of them in the crash zone with stasis rifle + thermoblade: 1. Wait for it to charge (yeah, that's probably the scariest part). 2. Hit it with an uncharged stasis rifle shot to the head when close enough. 3. Immediately follow up with a fully charged shot. 4. Swim to the side of the head, behind the mandibles (otherwise, it *can* and *will* bite or grab you) and start hacking away at it Depending on how fast you can do it, you can get in about 20 or so hits. 5. Hit them with another fully charged shot and hack away (about 33 hits if you are fast). 6. Rinse and repeat. Reinforced dive suit, ultra-high capacity tank, seaglide, spare batteries and some medkits urgently recommended.

@@TruthNerds or you can just grapple them with the prawn suit and ride them from behind while you punch them to death. ezpz. just takes a little practice, and then you can kill one while taking zero damage in about 2 minutes.
