Lots of great movies in this one. Sunshine is great, same with Dread and Edge of Tomorrow (Live Die Repeat). Clockwork Orange is great too, but a difficult watch
Youth in Revolt is a fire ass movie, good soundtrack. very underrated, it pairs real well The Sasquatch Gang, another Justin Long joint. they're both dumb fun & simple.
I used to manage a video shop back in the day, that is when I fell in love with the Before Trilogy. When Before Sunset was released for rental, the store ordered in Before Sunrise to go along with the release. I had not heard of these films before, and Before Sunrise was selling super cheap in the shop so I went ahead and bought it. Man, fell in love with it, the characters, atmosphere...everything. Watched Sunset next, and man, fell in love all over again with these characters. Luckily I managed to catch Before Midnight in the cinema when it released. I would have missed it had I not seen the other 2, and I would have missed the first 2 had I not first noticed them at work.
The Tom Cruise movie is actually called Edge of Tomorrow. The L.D.R. was more for marketing, the tag line, and did nothing but confuse the crap out of movie goers.
MAN everyone loves you....geeze!! lol A clockwork orange is one of the most amazing films of all time, its a masterpiece, i have that awesome blu ray book and the new 4k...the transfer on that is gorgeous and dont worry about the "those" scenes, you dont really see anything...the most disturbing part of that scene is the fact that he's singing "singing in the rain" prisoners is AMAZING!!! you need to watch that like yesterday!
Omg I thought I was gonna have to wait until September to get this unboxing! I’m so glad you love your gift! I just had to share the trilogy with you. You’d absolutely love Salem but I wanted to make your witchhood official with the certificate! Don’t worry about my name haha but it’s a hard G and it’s like the ‘U’ vowel is swallowed if that makes sense. But it’s all good, I’m used to it. My letter goes into more detail but I love that the shirt says believe in yourself cuz you honestly inspire me to do that. I hope you love your Salem swag and keep repping baffy haha but I also hope the shirt fits too lol Ooh I’d love to see you watch prisoners! It was directed by denis villeneuve! It’s more like one of his more depressing movies than something like arrival but I love it lol Live. Die. Repeat. was also released here in the us as Edge of tomorrow. I think the first title was the international title Badlands yes is the first Terence malick film but it’s pretty slow and art-housey , it’s about young kids on the run but it’s a slow burn lol but Yes to a clockwork orange deep dive! Oh now you have no excuse to miss dawn of the dead! I’m so into us doing a watchalong for it and maybe a deep dive comparing the original with the remake! But also dario argento helped Romero fund and release the film in Europe so the argento cut is also known as the international cut. Thank you so much my mistress of darkness for this unboxing! I’m so glad you love your birthday gift! Happy birthday again lol
Lots of really cool stuff you got! I really love the shirts you got! And lots of great movies too! I can't get enough of physical media/unboxing videos. Thanks for this!!
You mail hauled in a lot of great hard media films! I have Sisters on Criterion as well. I remember spotting those Blair Witch vhs docs at stores. I should mail you some items for one of your media haul or October / Halloween segment(s).
Lots of cool stuff! The Butterfly Effect is great, used to watch it all the time, critics didn't like it but everyone else did.. Adventureland is great, was disappointed when it came out but it really grew on me over the years.. and Blair Witch on VHS is the way to go!
yoo what a come up!!! i saw youth in revolt i theaters.. defo that sundance indie vibe, i wonder how it holds up! and badlands!!! suuuuuuuch a vibey flick. like a vibier bonnie and clyde... or like a proto A24 film raw, prisoners, the clockwork orange (fucked but a banger), pulse, dark water--- wow!!! so many bangers!
Glad you like the little ghosts I added on! 👻 Just thought they’d be a cute touch for a couple of the movies. When I saw your last mail unboxing from June it was a couple days after I sent the package in the mail. You pulled out Wild Things and I was like nooooooo I just sent it lol! But I’m glad you loved that movie though! It’s such a fun trip with all the twists. Hope you enjoy all the other movies I sent you! :) Love some of the stuff that others sent you too! Lisa Frankenstein and Poor things ❤ Great mail day.
You really got some classics in this haul. The Warriors is great. I would recommend watching the theatrical cut and not the director's cut. Youth in Revolt is really good too. I enjoyed Prometheus, but did not like Alien Covenant. Badlands is good as well. Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen are both great in it. Sisters has one of the scariest scenes ever in my opinion.
I have just bought a load of J Horror in Arrows summer sale including the same Pulse, Dark Water and Ju-On Grudge and RIngu bpxsets. I already had the DVD's but like to have both DVD ad Blu Ray of my favourite films.
Akira is an amazing animation movie but the story is a mid on me. Girl we are exciting to watch Alien Romulus next weekend. 🤘 I dunno if I’m interest to watch Dawn of the dead comparison cuz I haven’t watch both of those movies yet.
Akira is one of my favorite movies ever! I hope you like it enough to do a deep dive because it's such a fascinating experience in front of the camera and behind the scenes. I consider it as much of a horror film as a sci-fi cyberpunk film. When you watch it you'll understand why haha. There is an implied SA scene, so heads up. It's super short anyway. Also, I highly suggest trying to figure out what's going on after the movie is done. Not during. Rewatches will be mandatory anyway. The movie throws tons of stuff at you all the time. There's no freaking way to understand everything on your first viewing anyway. Just try to feel it on your first watch. Pandorum is a great sci-fi - action- horror movie. It's super fun and gross haha Dredd is based on a British comic book series that was originally featured in 2000AD magazine. Great sci-fi action with some horror thrown in for good measure. Robocop was partly inspired by old Judge Dredd comics, so there's that fun tidbit. I'm a big fan of all three movies. And Happy Birthday Kylie! An original vs remake of Dawn of the Dead would be great. I just got to that part of the video. Fun fact: Dawn of the Dead was called Zombi in Italy and that spawned its own series called Zombi. Zombi 2 was written and directed by Italian horror legend Lucio Fulci. Zombi 2 is just called Zombi over here, or if you're Letterboxd Zombie Flesh Eaters. The history of Dawn of the Dead is wild!
Yes I stayed around till the end of the video. Duh 🤨 Wow what a Haul. Love that your into some good sci-fi. I love interstellar. Ok this is my take on that film. The Love between a father and daughter is timeless and surpasses all bounds. That’s the theme I get from it. A Juno steelbook you may need more covers. 😉 I saw some really great stuff. Magnets and placemats, so nice. You’re going to need more room. 😉🙂 Yes take it as a birthday gift. I just had a granddaughter turn 14. Her mother got her tickets to see Pink. See is so excited. 😊 Oh the shirts are nice. My younger lovely friend has a birthday Sunday. I had a shirt made for her. She love the Raiders football team. I had a Raiders t-shirt made for her. It’s black and silver the Raiders colors. Big Raider logo at the top. A big silver circle. I the middle a stripper pole with a lady on it. Hey, they are in Vegas and my friend is so sweet and lovely. She’ll get it. 😉 Again a very nice Haul. 👍
I actually got you the before trilogy in my next 📦 sent to you. But since you already got in this mail. You can give the other one away or sell it. I'd figured you'd like it because Richard Linkletter and Etgan Hawke. I was inspired by you and Scott's relationship. i got you guys something you can watch together for date night or something. Well, it's the thought that counts.
Seeing so many movies core to my own experience find someone new is just great. Akira popped open a section of my head when i first saw it and really altered my tastes. I hope you enjoy all this excellent stuff.
