I am from Macedonia and i live in Germany for over 20 Years, i am listening to a Man talking norwegian and i read the translation in english. This europe is a multicultural one and no Anders Breivik will destroy it! Lets stand together agains racism and hate!
It is one of the strongest and moving speeches ever. I already had, and had even more respect after, for our Norwegian brothers and sisters.
Just so everone is clear on this (i see the confusion around here) The prime minister is an outspoken atheist. He just appreciates the churches standing and power in times of need. And he respects peoples beleives
When the prime minister mentioned Tore Eikeland, and to hear the lady crying in the background was absolutely heart wrenching. God help the victims of Norway and grant them strength throughout their difficult times.
Heartbreaking. Jens Stoltenberg has worked so many times as NATO Secretary General, in the meantime, behind the scenes, trying to preserve peace - and he succeeded.
A right-wing conservative committed the act, not Prime Minister Stoltenberg. Ignorance, fear, and hatred are to blame. Norway responded not with revenge, nor with violence, Norway responded in the bravest and most courageous way, with love, truth, openness and humanity. Before blaming other people, look in the mirror and see your kind causes this to occur.
The entire world is weeping with Norway. Many tears are being shed here in Canada. Prime Minister Stoltenberg has expressed the sorrow of his nation with great dignity. His words convey Norway's grief and illustrate the strength that this wonderful country will draw upon to get through this. We send our deepest sympathy to everyone who suffered the loss of a loved one, and to the Norwegian people as they deal with this tragedy in the days to come..
Jens delivered a speech that would silence everyone, in this speech he showed warmth, he shoved sorrow, he showed everything a Norwegian would stand for, fight for, the speech delivered a condolence to everyone who lost someone. And im.sitting here watching this again, and i could not be more embarresed, for the people, anywhere in the world or a fellow Norwegian, that would dare to use this, this dark dark time of norway, to say anything bad, to even try to show hatred to anyone! if you are one of the people who wants to take advantages of this, or anything like this, you can keep it to yourself, saying you hate Jens stoltenberg, Erna solberg, lr anyone els, wouød be a disgrace to everyone who suffered, everyone who died! so please people, show some decency, and pay your resoects instead!
Yeah so much respect like when he smiled 10 minutes into the newscast on NRK 23 july 2011. The video is on youtube if you want to watch it. He clearly holds back from laughing when saying he knew many of those people as if he supported what happened. Check the video seriously i can understand people who say they think it was allowed to happen.
there are no words for what has been done to Norway and its people! I feel very strongly with you, my deepest condolences! May you all have the strength, the courage and find solace and peace in these dark days! My thoughts go out for you! Thank you SimianP, for posting this!
Ást og umhyggja frá Íslandi! Love and compassion from Iceland! Stoltenberg is an amazing leader. He has shown great strength in these hard times. May this tragedy never be forgotten!

Stoltenberg will go down in history for what he has done for Norway during this tragedy. He has my deepest and utmost respect for his actions during this tragedy and I don't think anyone could've handled it in a better way. Deepest sympathies from your neighbours in Sweden, and I hope everyone who has lost a loved one, someday and somehow, will find comfort.
Norway’s one light in this tragedy was pm Jens Stoltenberg. His leadership has been equally critical to NATO since his departure as pm. A worthy leader to one of the best countries in the world. Terrible disasters need broad shoulders to carry them
today its been 3 years since it happend and still its hard to see how many lives got lost and how this country changed forever R.i.p,gone but never forgotten
I`d never thought that so much good would ever come out of such an evil act. Politics aside, I have gained so much respect for this man, as a person. He has been an extraordinary leader and our rock these last days. God bless our prime minister and royal family for focusing on love, strength and unity rather than anger, fear and revenge!
Never forget those who lost their Live`s,,Never forget the Tragedy that one man brought that awful day,,,And Never forget that ther are Many Many people who grief with you Norway,,we give you support and give Love From all over The world,,,With love From Holland
We love you Norway, Wish god is with you and you recover soon from this tragedy caused by some group who have forgotten what humanity and love is about what. Love from 1.2 Billion people from India.
What a moving and beautiful speech. Stoltenberg was clearly very close to tears throughout the whole talk. My heart goes out to these people and their courageous prime minister whose lovely words can hardly speak of the unthinkable horror that happened that day.
Norway's national tragedy is our international tragedy. The events touch our hearts deeply, and we'll be with you as you recover. Perhaps we'll be closer than ever, as we learn about you and what has been taken from you. Dave in St. Louis (USA)
May God eternally bless these beautiful, talented, wonderful people. Neither English, Norwegian, or indeed any language can convey the tragic events of this day. This is not only Norway's loss, but also the world's loss. These were someone's parent, brother, sister, child and in some cases their only child. Never let this day be forgotten, not because of the horror and unbelievable tragedy that has happened, but because that this act of evil has brought the world closer together. Hvile i fred.
We will make the best out of every single case of disagreements. I'm a proud Norwegian and I will not let anyone provoke me to abandon my ideals; the ultimate goal is to let everyone know the feelings of pride, belonging, respect, freedom, love and happiness. Achieved peacefully, every step is a little miracle, and makes the contributors higher on these feelings.. And through globalization cultural heritage can still be preserved or even increase.
It's so inspiring to see a national leader talking about love and humanity at a time like this, and not just viewing this tragedy as a PR opportunity or a chance to fearmonger. So sad for the people of Norway. :(
Lenge leve hans majestet kong Harald. After rewatching His Majesty's speech i have not more tears to cry, no more emotions to spare. Thank you Jens Stoltenberg. Pain will not break us, it will make us stronger, is what i want to say, but No! My words are stupid, my vision is minor, i can't imagine what burden is it to be allfarther (sorry for my freedom of word choice for word King, tell me if it's bad alternative pls) of a huge family and lose so many children. So instead of words i will offer my sorrow and science. But know I am here till my last breath, NO! till my last thought or as you say borte for alltid. My apologies for not using Norwegian, i understand a lot, but i am too shy for now. But still I ADDI (stupid, weak, human, shy, naïve but courageous, inspired by lives of old norse), I am here, i am not going anywhere, i will never let go of your hand O Norway, and not only because i want to be here for you, but also because you saved my life, my soul, my liberty, my love, my sea, my fish, my friends, my control, my shadow/kurama, i love you Norway, i am sorry and i thank you... i said i will shut up and now i speak again, at least i could find some tears of strength and love and future and one last emotion of gods(love)
this language is so hard to catch... I had a friend from Norway once.. and He was a kind person. so my say to you is: Peace... and may god let us see the light at the end of the tunnel for this are dark times which we will surpass as brothers and sisters :)
We all have our own political views, however never should we let them take innocent lives, especially those of what we consider to be children. May they all Rest in Peace, and may Norway know that everyone feels their pain and sorrow over their loss.
What a great people, so awful that they should have to endure this - I'm proud and shaken to be of Norwegian descent. Let us try to meet this horror with more tolerance and more democracy, as was said at today's gathering in Oslo
@TheSweLibertarian Um, no offense, but don't you think your priorities are a little bit, idk, turned upside down? Who cares what skin colour people have? We're all humans, for god's sake. One of my best friends' family is from Pakistan, but she has lived in Norway her entire life - and her parents have lived here from they were very young. I consider her to be just as Norwegian as I am. It doesn't matter where you're from. All that matters is where you're going.
