This is beautiful garden. People with families and kids to feed, a bit of earth to plant in, a job well done, sharing on RU-vid for happiness. In contrast of the pre RU-vid days, big families on TLC who had too many kids and a lot of land but never thought of self-sustaining or having their own produce garden, chickens and eggs, orchard or greenhouses, instead stocking up on sodium-laden canned and boxed foods for eons, sacrificing car seats for grocery space in their too-small vans, expecting children to pile up on each other’s laps for the sake of a grocery store trip with a camera crew in tow to make money off of tv ratings while they didn’t work any real jobs. This is the way the garden grows, our children grow, our humanity grows. Thank you for raising your kids with love for the earth and all she provides.
I tried so hard to get greens of any kind this year and I just could not do it! The heat and lack of rain just don't allow it. I may need to do them in the shade next year.
I cannot grow peas or kale here unless they're in at least partial shade. The sun is just too intense. Spinach bolts immediately and kales and chards just never thrive unless I do.
