Misha ATE this performance and left not one crumb! She should’ve had way more solos with 702! Prayers are with her and her family. RIP Grimstead twins. 🙏🏾
@@3BuckHead I feel like when they brought Meelah in the group and made her more less the lead singer it tore Mesha confidence they could have had 2 strong singers , but that happens I seen it in many groups.every group has a sound tho and Meelah voice is very distinct like CoCo in SWV when you hear it you know who it is ...
@@donikquac you know I didn’t know either until I was at his crib and saw the gold plaque for it! G wrote a lot of songs for others! Mamacita for Troop, Practice What You Preach for Barry White and a song Song for Patti LaBelle.
Umm, yeah… There is absolutely no reason why Misha wasn’t lead on any of the songs after Meelah joined. Her vocal tone and projection is very strong, plus, she had swag and stage presence. A total disservice to 702 fans. #RIPOrish&Irish 💙
The excessive smoking likely wasn’t helping and possibly didn’t listen to stop & don’t no producers got time to be testing wasting studio time or labels paying recording sessions trying to get the sound
It comes down to a group having a signature sound. She could always sing but of the girls her sounds wasn't as distinct. Same goes for T-Boz, Kandi Burruss, Nicole Scherzinger and other leads in girl groups. You have to have an anchoring sound.
702 was One of The 'BEST' of Many 'Female' Singing Groups in The 90's. 💯💯👏🏾👏🏾 ✝️✝️🕊️🕊️REST In PEACE, DEAR, Ms. Irish Grinstead. AMEN. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💯💯 🌹🌹⛪⛪ You WILL 'FOREVER' BE, REMEMBERED. AMEN. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Can y’all just imagine how grown this song was for them. These are like 14/15 year olds! 9th graders. Back in the 90s they did this a lot to be honest…and I sang this song at the top of my lung but I kinda knew I wasn’t supposed to. Lemisha was supposed to have her own career and handpicked to be a solo star but she didn’t want to leave Irish. She chose her sister over her own solo career. So when you see this and see Lemisha and not 702 (because her twin sisters were on this song too) - just know she didn’t want to have a career without Irish. My heart goes out to Misha. We love Irish 🕊 We love you too Orish.
@@pattyjams4753No he wasn't. That song came out in 1993.Tevin was born 1976 which put him at 17 in 1993 and the song was released before his 17 birthday so he was still 16
@@vondei5939More specifically Michael Bivens they were on his record label. It was his doing to make her and Irish like back up singers. Except for a few producers who wrote songs for her to do some leads being she could also sing. Irish could sing too, her voice wasn’t as strong but nothing a vocal coach couldn’t bring out because it was the confidence.
@@dreams2dream627she can’t sing like this anymore, so it’s good they’ve been able to tour with meelah singing lead. She wouldn’t be able to deliver as a lead.
@jordanforthewin1111 I, 'AGREE', TOO. 💯💯👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾 702 was One of The 'BEST' of Many 'Female' Singing Groups in The 90's. 💯💯👏🏾👏🏾 ✝️✝️🕊️🕊️REST In PEACE, DEAR, Ms. Irish Grinstead. AMEN. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💯💯 🌹🌹⛪⛪ You WILL 'FOREVER' BE, REMEMBERED. AMEN. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This is still one of my favorites. Misha looked really different just a couple years after this, where Irish has always looked the same to me. Already miss her. Them Subway boys had vocals too, btw.
Man I miss the 90's era. I wish I could turn the hands of time back. This is forever the jam 🔥 SUBWAY was the bomb. Misha did her thing. I wish Subway was Still around
@@goldstarfilms5939Her vocal decline sounds like way more than cigarettes, plus she wasn't even 16 yet here... I really think she lost confidence & the pregnancy changed her voice for good... I never noticed Subway was the forefathers of H-Town's style until just now.
@@MostHighJem it seemed that she may have lost confidence during the transition/change of members. She talked about in the unsung. She has a beautiful voice and range
For those saying Misha couldn’t sing this video will kill the noise . She received a record deal from her lead vocals by the GREAT Mike Bivins !! Nuff Said . She still has it in her and singers must continue to use their gifts so they don’t lose it . This is proof that she is talented .
Roy in the middle used to live next door to me.. We was all geeked af when Subway blew up. I remember his daddy gave me a Subway poster 😂😂😂 But Misha went off here.
They haven't had to use their voices in a professional manner in years. Longs periods of not training, smoking (assuming they do) etc. can cause a singer to struggle. Vocal cords are just like any other muscle, you have to regularly train and exercise them.
This group brought back some memories. That whole era of Monteco ,immature, the whitehead brothers & J’son. Wow I never seen subway perform live b4. What a treat . Ty for posting this
Misha had them vocals which is why she was the lead singer when they first started 702 and then they got Meelah into the group and never let misha sing lead again
It wasn't Meelah's fault. Once the other girls were kicked out of the original 702, the group was rebranded with Meelah as the lead. Misha was able to sing lead on "All I Want" and also sang during the live performances of "Get it Together". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T29ki_UOGf0.html
That's how the industry do. A different sound a different pitch or even a different artist. It's there vision and they putting the money behind it so what they say goes and it went. I totally forgot she could jam like that. She showed out!
Omg they were so young with these powerful voices !!! The 90s the artist were something different . They actually work hard and love the art of music which is why the 90s era will always and forever have the best music era
Its SO obviously clear LeMisha is a talented vocalist..in 702 we see how the industry, the machine grinds people up, even families. What started out as four sister siblings dreams became about what was easily sellable. The stress of that upon the family and within the group is now clearly understandable. A new girl is brought in, and is christened the new lead singer. May the Grinstead family find peace in all the joy their daughters brought into the world via song. BLESSED. 702 FOREVER!
Am I the only one looking back on this as an adult and feeling a little uncomfortable that these damn kids dancing so freaky? Lol! Like how old are they in this. We sure were fresh ass kids in the 90s! Aaliyah talking about age at nothing but a number. Mam, go to your room! Lol
LEMISHA IS VOCALLY TALENTED ENOUGH FOR LEAD SINGER BUT SOMEONE DIDN'T WANT THAT FOR HER DURING THE DAYS OF 702. MAYBE SHE TURNED DOWN MANY MANY MANY SEXUAL ADVANCES AND THEY PUSHED HER TO THE BACK. SHE'S BEAUTIFUL AND CAN SING HER BUTT OFF BUT I HOPE SHE'S TRYING TO FIND A LITTLE PEACE AT THIS TIME WITH ALL OF THE ISSUES AND GREAT LOSE OF BEAUTIFUL IRISH. I'M SO SORRY FOR HER AND THE FAMILY.
Omg!! Is that lemisha that was on the show encore?! Omg she sounds so damn good!!! The twins were really playing her like she couldn’t sing!🎤 the twins were so negative and toxic fr fr!!
OMG!!!! HUNTY SHE HELD THAT NOTE!!! BAAAAABY YAAAAAAS.......I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! BLESS HER HEART❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤MY CONDOLENCES GO TO BOTH HER BEAUTIFUL TWIN SISTERS SHE LOST!!! THIS STORY IS SO TRAGIC MY HEART BREAKS FOR HER FAMILY , FRIENDS, AND HER FANS🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Undoubtedly Meelah is the better singer of 702, but I will always remember Misha first. There is no reason why they couldn’t share leads. I think Misha lost confidence after she was pushed to background
Le should've got a solo deal the industry is something. Separated her from her sis in the group then made another girl lead of a group she started. Dirty.
She could have been a star alone, like Brandy or Monica. Or she should’ve at least stayed the lead singer, they put her in the background with that talent
Misha and her sisters are the reason, 702 exist today, just off of Misha strong vocal ability to this one song. I love Meelah but I hate how people try and make it seem as if it wasn't for her 702 wouldn't be anything thing. All the girls held their own. Meelah came later on. 702 was already a group that consisted of sisters.
