Sheesh, is there no ticket barriers at these subways? Cause it makes it look like anyone can just walk in and travel for free. Is that section of Munich low in population? Since I notice there wasn't anyone else seen in the station. Not to mention the two trains that passed by looked entirely empty, and seemed to have just 3-6 people each. Maybe its just me since the vid was taken at nighttime, and there wouldn't be too many people out anyway.
There are no ticket barriers at all in Munich so basically you can travel for free, But there are randomly ticket checkers in the trains. if you get caught you'll have to pay 60€ and about the empty trains, that was because i filmed it at 3-4am.
In Germany, public transport companies trust their passengers. And most people buy tickets despite there being no barriers. And for a good reason: They randomly check for your ticket and if you get caught riding without one you have to pay 80 €. And, if you do so multiple times, you can even get sued.
Also the ticket inspectors are plain clothes. You cant spot a uniform and jump off quickly . There's no warning until someone that just looks like another passenger pulls out their ID and asks to see you ticket.
Lass dich nicht erwischen oder sehen... Sonst heißt es wieder "Personen auf den Gleisen". Habe aber jedes Mal überlegt reinzugehen wenn ich diese Türen gesehen habe...
