To save some aspiring Maehwa the time, I'll breakdown the first combo. Firstly, make sure you're in red blade, then the skill order is: Red moon > blind thrust (with dash) > decapitation (this has a flow with blind thrust) > carver > blooming
Thanks for this tutorial. I got crazy trying to figure out how the hell to use decapitation special when Im full rage. It never triggered, I didnt know why. Until I watch this video and I realice that you must use your petals if u are full of them, otherwise the decap special attack never triggers. So if you are full of petals and full rage and wanna trigger the special rage attack, first use Maehwa's Will, consum the petals, and in the next decapitation you will be able to do special rage attack. Tvm again man!
4 minutes in and you're already saving my life. I retried with Maehwa 90% copy discount after having her parked for ages. Super fun but I couldn't figure out mid-grind how to do her rage skills (I've got 200% withvartifacts cause it's fun) and I figured I needed to be out of red blade, so I would avoid using decapitation until time ran out, then use rage. Very clunky. I wish I realized you can exit it with Maehwas will xD And yeah I never used dragon bite so that'd already 2 big things
It was learned recently that the 20% FG shred on the arrows is on a 2-3 second internal cooldown. I think this is gonna be SUPER important to note against succ nova and other beefcakes
hey nayashe, good quick guide for the newer players. gonna look forward to the full/clean one. just some little points I noticed. wwc 3rd hit isnt a cc stiff (was removed with rework afaik) arrow grapple and red: decap also have a small SA that lets you regenerate stamina at the end. (not a lot but maybe useful for some 1vs1 situations) if you flow red: decap from dbite / blind slash for example the SA linger is pretty long and doesnt lock stamina regen p.s: never noticed the red: red moon SA lingers that long definitely gonna use that more. keep up the good work 👌
I'll test out the dbite decap one but originally I would of never used that because decap was always used for upkeep or getting redblade so was very inconsistent with the SA. Blind slash decap is risky as blind slash is unprotected but it's good to know. I'll update the cleaner guide with those findings. Ty I'll double check the ww cut when I get home. Most of the time I do one or two swings then re cc with something else like red red moon.
Great guide, really informative. I just started a maewha on season and was wondering, when you full pen tuvala and start on the Jetina pen gear, do you get the evasion gear or dr gear?
Edit: Nevermind i see you explain on that at 32:00, but what about awa, does it not suffer from same issues in oneshot areas? I need some help to understand how to work with maewha in oneshotable zones like gahaz for example, i even use my stamina crystal preset build and can reach up to 5000 stamina on her and yet i still get choked after one full rotation or so to minimum stamina, even when using all the movement gap closing skills. Am i doing something wrong or succ maewha is just bad for such spots?
Maehwas stamina management is not the greatest because all our movement is stamina based and quite a few of our attacks are stamina based, so it's difficult to find opportunities to regen stamina. Succ is worse off stamina wise than awakening but basically you want to focus on using non-stamina based skills like decapitation, petal swirl, red moon, blooming, magnus skill corella, blooming step, prime stub arrow.. so always try to prioritize those skills to clear packs. But in-between use skills with movement potential as well. Blind thrust, carver, grapple arrow. Don't use skills like spamming divider on weak mob packs or chasing too much when you can just use other skills for better cost efficiency for pack to pack travel. It will just burn your stamina.

I got a question, why do you sometimes unlock your cursor when fighting people and point near them? I've seen other maehwas do that too and i can't understand why D:, thanks for the guide btw it was super helpful ^^
It's for Mouse Movement usage. I reposition the location of my mouse to be centered in my screen so that when I want to do a MM based skill like red moon or blooming, I won't have to worry about my cursor being all the way off to the side and have it be difficult to MM to the other side if needed.
@@tails69420 you can technically do it with most skills but very few are useful. If your awakening there is a few more options like petal drill, frost pillar and Tip, Magnus skill, as a few examples

Curious why succession still has the stamina issues at low end, isnt chase equivalent in speed / distance now? Or is it mainly the stamina cost of blind thrust / other succ skills?
The skills we use to one shot packs cost stamina. So you never really have a good chance to recover stamina. Red moon and blooming are examples which doesn't cost stam and same with arrows but it they lack forward movement.
Hi im returning to the game and i main maehwa, i saw awk mae got some pretty good buffs. Are they the better pve class now? Do i use succ or awk for quint hill Trolls?
Either is fine for PvE. Succ is easier on the apm than awakening and the difference between them is hardly noticeable from my experience. But some testing shows awakening is better at PvE now, but like I mentioned, I haven't noticed a major difference.
Some times I use MM (mouse movement) for things. Repositioning my cursor makes sure when I use MM it's at the center location so if I do a sharp or hard turn type movement it's based on the central location of my screen.
Hey! So im new and started using Maehwa and absolutely love her! But I’ve been having sustain issues. Are there any tips for sustain with her? Like abilities on her kit or some sort of lifesteal?
There are abilities with HP on hit like red blade carver or nemesis slash but there's no mechanic like lifesteal in BDO. The main source of sustain is the abilities I mentioned and using frenzy draught or elixirs like grim or draining
I made my Maehwa exactly for the same reason. Most ridiculous she also wrecks akmans the best i've seen of all classes LOL. But i wouldn't say she's hard to learn, hard to master maybe? I still play her very suboptimal way (found this guide yesterday), and she does at most places as good as my DK (not a pro with DK, but got some experience).

Yo Nayashe, i was just watching through your vod and the pistanity clip. I dont understand how you can sometimes shoot 5 or 6 stub arrows. No matter what i do, i can only shot 4. Your stub arrow buff seems to stack but mine doesnt. Of course i skilled everything. Thanks for the guide!
It's a bug that I can't fully explain but it seems to be consistent if you add a bit of movement between each shot. Either using chase or a/d wiggles to the side seem to make it happen.

Are you referring to 34:12 ? That was just filler dmg to finish off the pack. I guess I tend to do it a decent amount. It's just filler dmg between cooldowns. The core of the combo is just a dps cooldowns dump. After that it's just whatever filler you feel comfortable with.

Did they change the skill points needed for some skills? I've checked multiple times if I have everything, and I still fall 30 points used short of what you have.
Nope. Should be the same. Either way 30 points isn't much at all. With the event going on now for xp plus additional scrolls u can easily hammer that out in no time.
@@Nayashe Sorry, I'm not so good with words, my mistake xD. I have all the poits needed, what I meant was, that I spend 30 point LESS than you did, but I am extremely sure I got all the skills. I looked over the tree 7 or 8 times and I couldnt find what I was missing.

Well considering how serene mind works, you get buff, use buff, get buff, use buff, get buff etc.. 50 more times. I think that would be annoying visually lol. Where as maehwas is a "state or stance" like buff.
I personally have never done oluns.. That being said, understand the skill rotation your using, and make sure you maximize the most valuable add-ons such as attack speed, crit %, PvE AP, DP shred as some examples. If you can easily keep those up, u can incorporate others like crit dmg, back attack dmg, etc..

This was a quick low edit guide. I am going to do a better iteration soon. So taking these kinds of feedback into consideration when doing the revised version. I just wanted to get this info out quick at first.
No but you need to be adaptable. Not every situation will result in the ideal combo. This is precisely why I use a bit of redundancy with my addon setup.
@@flowless1773 yea. There were some adjustments but overall it's relatively the same. There were a few new features added like faster cast animation for petal swirl out of chase and faster cast animation for Corolla out of chase. There was significant adjustments to accuracy and damage between all skills and classes but it should feel fairly similar. But basically evasion is alot easier to deal with just doing your normal combo. The accuracy is kinda spread across everything now. Rather than just blooming. There a few other small details but can't think of them atm
In Jade Forest somehow I make the same amount of trash per hour as before the update (28100 trash/ 297 atack/ 2 lvl scroll +agris) meanwhile fokinkg woosa with the same gear making 31k trash.
@@sdhfgujk467 the play around them the same way. The difference is, if u have a s block with wp Regen, it completely negates the blooming drain whereas if you grab a block they are grabbed. Also CD is the same as most grabs, 15 secs. Blooming also doesn't impact mage classes at all basically. It only affects lower mana pool classes. Without a tool like grab or mana drain, classes that rotate SAs are hard to deal with unless you have enough dmg to shred them. The main reason people hate the blooming is due to the peel potential it has. It can completely turn a bad situation into a good one. Which is not much different from grab peels. So if you know mana drain is a potential issue, be careful on fully commiting to a target. Ranger has just as strong of a mana drain, yet no one complains about that.
@@Nayashe The difference is that blooming is fully sa and aoe, there is zero risk in casting it compared to a single target unprotected grab. It also commonly goes through frontals as well. To just say that a block wp regen counters it is so out of touch, especially considering that you'll often just get the "try again in a moment" error regardless of mana recovery which serves exactly as a hard cc. Ranger mana drain is not nearly as strong. Never committing to a target because the threat of mana drain is not a viable solution, it is simply too strong.
@@sdhfgujk467 you understand blooming has been SA since October right? I heard no complaints then or anytime until essentially last month and who are you even running into on succ Mae? All 3-5 of the NA players that play it. No idea on EU but doubt it's alot. The class isn't popular regardless of the recent buffs. Mana pot gauge adjustment can counter the mana drain as well. And rangers is strong and also SA. Your crazy if you think otherwise. It's wild to me to see complaints like this when you have unethical sage and maegu players rolling to the classes for it's over powered states in the current meta. Endless stamina zerkers. 1 frame engagement awaken nova and awaken drake, Auto pilot succ nova, busted flying from lahn where they can completely negates ur mini map and vision due to the game not rendering them before they dive on you. Like huh? There is bigger fish to fry my guy. I have no pity or sympathy for anyones complaints. My class and kits have been dogshit for years. I've been an objective player for years, but fuck it. No one else promoted buffs for my class. I don't recall seeing your name anywhere near my class prior to this.
I mean no disrespect, but there is so much miss information in this video. I can't recommend this to anyone. It's a skill overview at best and it wrong on a number of different occasions. You didn't really spend much time at all on red blade mechanic which is what a succ mea player will be at 99% of the time.
