This is so your viewers attention is guided to where you need them to focus. The 12 principles of animation can take you through the rabbit hole of cinema faster than any film course could .Check out some gamer channels also.Look at how they integrate themselves in the corner of their gameplay screen. Having two frames playing side by side makes it difficult for someone to distinguish where to focus their attention. You can squeeze in multiple things on a single frame as long as you premeditate where to guide your viewers attention. It's like a one sided chess game. As long as you know where to move the viewers attention ,you'll win every time.
