Don’t do it if you can manage without the updated apps. I had fantastic battery life on the original ios8 that was installed at manufacture, never installed any updates, and the device worked very well for over 4 years. Finally decided to take the plunge, and can say that everything works just like it did in 2016 only worse, and the battery is draining very quickly. I am very disappointed, the os improvements seem mostly cosmetic and meaningless, and not worth the trade off for the fantastic battery life I had on this device.
