SUCCESSFUL TREE RIGGING OR BAD FLOODING
Fyns Træfældning and ArboristService had to solve this highly sensitive task and there were no room for mistakes. A large area would be flooded if this storm damaged willow collapsed and punched a hole in the dam or dike. The trunk was fixed, cut, lowered and pulled over on the dike .... nice and gently! Otherwise we had reached the headlines with "Flood ...tree removal gone wrong" The stream runs from another major stream, so there were 18-25 miles of water upstream!

Thanks Washi Bonsai! Yes, if we share experiences, we can learn a lot from each other and maybe make it even better. There are tasks for everyone anyway.

Love this kind of work, anybody can cut and remove I with a crane. This is why I chose this profession.

Hey Kenny! It looks like you have a pretty good control on trees and cranes. I've only taken down trees with a crane a couple of times. But my little experience has given me the idea that the profit quickly disappears when the big machines get involved in the task?

+Stephen Neeson Thanks Stephen! Yes it was a bit nerve-wracking. The question was not whether the equipment could carry the load, but how good the condition was on the remaining trunk ....not a magnificent specimen, which had to bear the whole problem. It went well ... otherwise the movie has become much more exciting and we had reached the headlines!

Thanks Jacob! Me too... luckily there was still some remaining tree trunk that I could use for an anchor point.

Couldn't you set up a zip line between the two trees?
@SorenSatellit
@SorenSatellit 4 года назад
Hi ak Alksdr It could be a quick solution. But our concern was the strength of the remaining trunk and the anchor point. A vertical pull would affect the remaining trunk as little as possible ... a zipline would affect the tree in a more sideways/horizontal direction. If the load hangs in ropes that goes 45 degrees from the anchor points then each anchor point is loaded with 50% of the weight. At 120 degrees, each anchor point is loaded with 100% of the weight. The load peaks at 180 degrees (horizontal drag) with over 500% times the weight. But now that you mention the zipline - it could be a very good to combine the two solutions! Secure the tree trunk like we did and then leave it attached to the tree and then send small trunk parts off on a zipline ... that would be the most secure solution ...now that a crane could not drive into the wet area. Stay safe and stay away from the virus!!!
