Been using Wool for several years, was upset when they went bankrupt in like 2020, because it's the perfect fragrance, but was happy when they came back.
I remember when it used to be that simple 🥲 now fragrances of the same name have different scents at the different concentrations (ex. Libre edp vs edt have completely different notes) I don't know why they do that now. Also noticed that it's more common with the more popular houses
I'm so excited to see you talk about them! Something fun I've noticed about their fragrances is they smell COMPLETELY different depending on who is wearing them. My mother, grandmother, and I bought the mini sets to have a fun time going through the cataloge and seeing how the fragrances changed on all of us.
Gold expressive is my all time and the OG formula. Each one has different added scents. Gold bold has a TON of patchouli which cases immediate migraine, the expressive is VERY different. The company let me know the actual formulas are different. Stronger scents are added for BOLD. not just more of the OG. 🥰
Oh I love this idea! It's probably be great as the seasons change, and you don't want super strong scents in the blistering heat or when it's super cold and you're always indoors
I like variety! I’m A bit of a perfume freak, have more than I can go through in a lifetime but I love to sample and get to know different ones so those as they call wardrobes allow me to do just that, without waste. I’m glad I’ve never bought any full sizes from Commodity because as much as I reach for Milk and Parer quite often, I wouldn’t be able to go through it. Another way of finding new good stuff is joining groups like Perfume Sell and Swap UK. Lovely bunch of very passionate and helpful ppl!
Love Commodity! My favorite was a scent called Bergamot which I’m pretty sure got discontinued. Hence the reason why the bottle is in my fridge. Oooo I’m gonna go throw some on now lol!

In terms of levels no but my all time favourite oil perfume black pheonix alchemy lab has a unique scent range like no other brand. Plus they’ve been going since the 90s a lot of people collect them they have a genderal catalogue and limited edition catalogue for every season of the year as well as random LE’s targeted towards political issues they also collab with other brands. They give out free bottles sometimes and always give out imp bottles (samples). They also add stickers for some LE’s and they also add some brand stickers and cool gothic carnival ticket that goes with the carnival range.
I'd be curious to know what the difference is between this and eau de toilettes, eau de colognes, eau de parfums - all of which are different levels of intensity, just not marketed catchily as 'power levels'. Santa Maria Novella and Chanel come to mind as other fragrance houses that do that.
Body Mist vs Eau de Toillette vs Eau de Parfume Bath and Body Works will have some of their fragrances in all 3 forms. Usually mist is cheaper with perfume being the most expensive.
One of my favorite fragrance houses and has been since before they relaunched! Their different fragrance intensities are something I think every fragrance house should do.
I’ve never heard of any other fragrance brand doing this kind of thing before and I’m intrigued to see how the difference between the scent levels are and if it compromises the integrity of the scent itself. I try to avoid using too much fragrance when I go to my doctors appointments because I know there’s people who have a bad respiratory reaction to fragrances, but I’d still like to try to wear something that doesn’t waft around the room choking people as I walk through it, but I can still smell on myself because I love my fragrances 🥰
I know commodity from glossybox. I once had paper- in there and it smells incredible. Absolutely unique, badass and its unisex too. Milk is constantly sold out
my personal favorite is Book. i usually layer it with Paper. for some reason, the Milk line makes me nauseous 🤢 Moss- smells a little like aftershave to me, Moss+ Irish Springs bodywash...mixed with aftershave. a little barbershopy but still smells nice.
Ooooh you just spoke straight my to heart. I love all 3 brands. Are there other brands/specific scents that you love? Because it seems we have very similar scent preferences. Amber from Rag n bone is incredible, so is oddity 😍. Have you tried scents of wood? Sandalwood in oak is lovely, as well as plum in cognac. Another amazing one is Oud for Greatness by Initio. So gorgeous.
Yesss!!! ❤️ Commodity Moss is underrated imo but Milk is def my fav❤️!!! I like the Expressive I think is the term they use but Bold works for a few of them but I thoroughly enjoy my fragrance so the Personal just isn't strong enough for my liking🙃
I got one from Ipsy (unfortunately it's currently packed away) that I liked a lot. I recall it was fresh without being overpowering or cloying. Now I need to find it 😂
eh, it's just a rebranding of the VERY traditional use of varying concentration levels of perfume oil into an alcohol base. So for personal, expressive, & bold you would have cologne, eau de toilette, eau de parfum, and parfum oil. It's a gimmick. I quite like a number of Commodity fragrances but I roll my eyes at this particular marketing tactic of theirs.
this is just changing the marketing around “flankers” which have been around in fragrances since forever. Its the same when brands release a eau de toilete, eau de parfum and parfum. Some brands make the 3 flankers more different between them so they’re not redundant but they always keep the same “DNA” and general scent
