Yep. You have 2 chances to counter them once they make contact. It’s just that the timing for it is a lot tighter than other enemies so it pretty difficult to pull off.
The timing is random. The game makes it impossible to be consistent with the counter. So I wouldn’t try and waste your time trying to get good at it. It’s kind of one of those things you do anyways when caught and it always kind of a surprise when you do
Yes it's easy and not random like these other clueless bozos are saying. They're probably just mad because they need to do better and they have no idea how because they spend too much time in the bathroom playing around
I didn’t counter an EMMI once during my first playthrough, but I got so much better at it on my second. It’s really fun and makes you feel really powerful once you get the hang of it, it’s like parrying the Guardians’ lasers in Breath of the Wild.
