I love Avi's solo endeavors. He was good as a member of Pentatonix, but over time, he lost that spark he started out with. Since starting his solo career, you can tell he has grown and blossomed in his talent. His songs reach the heart and soul now, since his own soul has healed.

The lyrical depth of this song and the soulfulness of his voice- wow. Thank you!

Welcome to Folk Avi. You are correct about Spiritual connection, Folk Music has one foot in Gospel and straddles Country/Rock a billy too. Folk is not easy because you Have to feel it and sing it with Honesty. You can't hide from the Vulnerability. Perfect for Avi's voice.

There is just something so comforting about his voice - it's just... peaceful. I would agree that he has kind of a modern hippie vibe, kind of that deep spirituality self realisation thing... thanks for this one!

My favourite lyric from this song is ' I've felt the fire, I've held the sword, I've fought desire, oh but I lost that war.' Avi's songs all have that 'I know that song' quality. I think it's their simplicity and the fact that they all have a deep hook hidden in them that grabs and won't let go. I'm surprised about the copyright strike. I hope everything works out with this one. This song has an alternate version which is very different but just as fabulous. It's just a lyric video. Avi just released a new song called Healing on 17th. It's really special! Spiritual is a word i have used often to describe Avi's music. Every individual can determine what they take from his lyrics. A great day to react to Across the Universe, because AVi in the cross-legged yogi position was clearly channeling his inner George Harrison. This was very much 60's folk music and very appropriate as the times are almost as bizarro now as they were then, only the drugs have changed to protect the innocent.

The animation for this video was done by Turkish animator Mertcan Mertbilek, as directed by Avi as to what he had in mind. The style is very reminiscent of 1960's/1970's pop artist Peter Max. However, like some others have commented, I find the video distracting and maybe a mite "out there". I prefer just watching the official studio version video, and the Alt version.

Thank you for a great reaction. I often think of the guitar playing as Avi’s wandering guitar, especially in “On my way”. I like the video, the same artist created the video for “Song for the thankful”. People often struggle to define Avi’s unique style of music so I came up with the word “Avicana”. LOL, You know, you can just call it an acid-trip video. This is actually the only one of his videos that I am not as fond of. Mind you, I love his voice and the song (I actually prefer the alternate version of this one). Even though you were struggling to find the right words, I think you captured what you were trying to convey. I know Avi (the person) really likes reactors. I know that you have reacted to videos from Avi Kaplan and Geoff Castellucci. From Pentatonix, Kevin Olusola has a solo channel, and Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying have a channel called Superfruit. From Home Free, Tim Foust, Austin Brown, Adam Chance, and Chris Rupp all have solo channels. They all make good stuff. There might be more solo channels that I am not aware of.

This is the first time I'm seeing this video to this song. Pretty sure he had another music video to this. Not gonna lie, I don't think this video captures the vibe of the song or his music at all, at least in my opinion. Avi's music to me is very nature driven, folk style - a little spiritual too. His video for Aberdeen captures it perfectly I think. Still I love seeing your reactions and I hope - if youtube doesn't give you any more struggles - to see more of your reactions to Avi's music.

This is one of my favorite Avi songs but I've never liked the video, IMO it's too distracting and goofy for such a powerful song. About what genre describes Avi's music, it's been debated and many have tried to define him but the best one I've seen so far was from a recent post to another reaction where they called it Avicana...it works for me.
