I think part of the more subtle horror of the game is how Stardust's lack of interest in romance gets eroded as the game goes on. Rhok'zan adores you but is also harming you.

I remember in the demo, the thing that startles Rhok'zan out of her eldritch introduction is the protagonist stating out loud that they are (platonically) smitten by her. I like the slight change in the script here much more, where it does better on establishing Rhok'zan's desire to escape and her desperate yet motivated reliance on the protagonist. And I'm just as pleased that they didn't take away the idea of the protagonist potentially being ace or demi.

Also just realized, the way you'd write it in Japanese would be サクラメン町, (sakuramenchō), the first 3 syllables spelling "sakura", ie the Japanese cherry blossom/tree 🌸 Possibly not intentional, but if nothing else, a neat result of how Sacramento is rendered in Japanese.

Just so you guys know, the main character in this one is a girl. It's not a dude like in the first game. She's also asexual. So a complete 180 form the last game 43:13 No. To gain her favor you don't have to impregnate her, you just have to be a father/mother, that's literally it.

Okay, so the unhealing immortal thing? There is a really good book about it by the amazing author Brandon Sanderson The book is called Elantris and it covers specifically people who used to be like gods and then for unknown reason, turned into wretches who can never die, but can never heal either. Well, that and the political games between Princess Sarene who is was about to marry Prince Raoden (who days before they would meet became a wretch) and the high priest Hrathen who came to convert the country within three months or the armies of the rest of the world would come to eradicate the entire nation. It is a very good book, I recommend it strongly!

They really made the protagonist as non-horny(heh) for the Eldritch god as possible huh, already such huge contrast from the first game. For a visual novel, they definitely expanded a lot on the free exploration, I love it. It reminds me of the last part of the first game where you will later get bombarded with a lot of unspeakable horrors around your apartment and you only have your magic book to stop it. 1:08:50 And here I thought I was being clever with my horny pun. I'm glad that the game isn't afraid to make goat puns as well with these names (Buck and Nanny).
